Yes, it's those "get 1,000,000 secondary hits" directives, which aren't really doable anywhere else than Co-op. And, to be fair to WG, that probably means they sell a few Premiums. But I think the constant grind is getting a bit dull and the next event needs to show some new thinking.
-
I think it has to affect the popularity of ships at those Tiers. There's plenty of potential Tier IV and V Premiums left for WG to drop into the game, but only the hardcore collector is going to buy a ship which is effectively defenceless against a constant threat.
-
She's not really worth the wait, to be honest. Try one of the German BCs if you want a mid-tier secondary ship.

[Poll] Did you use the "Single-Use Coupons" = 25% OFF that lasted just for the holidays?
invicta2012 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Yes. I used them to buy the Bearn and the Karl Van Schonberg. -
It was a *very* long time ago. WG has always seen Co-op as a training mode for new players and so was reluctant to make the mode any more difficult. They're also worried about the impact on Random MM if they make PVE more popular... and so they give these modes the minimum attention possible.

You just need someone to spot for you. Battle of the Falkland Islands, for example. HMS Canopus was beached on a sandbar, out of sight of the open sea. They ran a telephone cable to a hut on a nearby headland, the spotter up there provided plot information for the gunners on the ship. Poor old Von Spee's squadron was unpleasantly surprised to find themselves being accurately shelled by a Battleship they couldn't see at a time when such a thing was almost unthinkable.

Yup. But you can use those doubloons to complete stages of the Dockyard build, it's just less efficient (4 stages for 6000 doubloons rather than than 5 stages for 5500 in the Starter Pack).

Good, let's have more of that. I'd go with that. Although I think Hard Co-op used to be Operations, before WG lost the ability to code such things. But a Hard Co-op mode would do, we have bots in all game modes now, I don't mind playing with or against them. In fact I have some of my most fun battles at odd times of the day when there are more bots than humans playing....

2022 - bypass grind and the flip the bird at pratice
invicta2012 replied to ZeuSueZ1337's topic in General Discussion
Not a particularly forgiving one, either. Although that is a *fabulous* permacamo (my favourite in the game, to be honest). -
Tier VIII downtiered Drake with 8 inch guns. Some adjustments could be made (standard heal?, lower speed?) but that's a realistic, more durable CA than the ones WG have invented.

What happened with adding sirens to the JU87 Stukas on the Loewenhardt?
invicta2012 replied to XDMeloniXD's topic in General Discussion
They added them. The problem is that the dive time on the JU87 is not the same as the dive bombers on the Graf Zeppelin, and they ported the sound effects straight over without checking them. So you only hear the siren if you dive your Stukas much lower than you might prefer for an effective bombing run.- 3 replies

Giuseppe Verdi (Tier IX) for DOUBLOONS ONLY?!
invicta2012 replied to XDMeloniXD's topic in General Discussion
Apart from the way he pronounces the ship's name. Clearly not a fan of opera. -
Advice for current Tier IX gift shop ship
invicta2012 replied to mpc007's topic in General Discussion
You can buy several of those Tier IX ships for Doubloons in the Armory, with a coupon. Top up your doubloon stock with the 100% voucher if you want, or buy a mid-Tier premium to get back into the swing of the game - might be an idea to test the Hybrid playstyle with Ise before forking out on Kearsarge? -
Because they would be Tier VI/VII tops. The CV might make Tier VIII. The fantasy design looks quite fun...

Nelson's athwartship armour is poor. The bow gets overmatched by everything 15 inch and above and the athwarship armour won't keep it out, and as the citadel starts below A Turret, that's a problem. There's a strip of lighter citadel armour at the base of the ship which is 152mm and I suspect you got lucky and hit that straight on.

The game is very buggy at the moment, which is hardly surprising when so many mechanics are being changed to accommodate submarines. The ship "jumping" when it's destroyed is definitely something I have seen, especially if it was grounded on some underwater feature at the time.
-
I don't mean to worry you, but those planes are the ones on the Ise in WoWs. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aichi_M6A

The heavy German line might appeal. Little mini Cruisers.

Will Submarines ever be finished in WoWs?
invicta2012 replied to Warthog1942's topic in General Discussion
Not sure about that, tbh. Most Ops require travelling and striking across some distance. Tier VI subs will struggle with that. I'm also not convinced that WG can make Bot AI follow their (increasingly confused) ASW method. -
Baltimore is very good. Wichita can be set up differently to your standard US radar cruiser if you fancy a change in playstyle - you can use it as a more mobile, longer ranged HE based cruiser if you wish to. Cleveland is also very good but the life of a CL is a hard one these days.
-
Ise - good fun. The hybrids are better than the Dutch cruiser airstrikes - i find the latter really difficult to land, conventional CV planes are much simpler to use - and the main guns on Ise are hard hitting. Hyuga - lots of guns. Not much in the way of armour. And just *what* does that citadel look like? Carnot - very fun, especially in the high tier PVE meta where the DDs normally kill everything in the first minute. Love the speed, love the durability, love the AP and the secondaries. Have to remember not to charge into trouble, though.

Yay! 25% discount voucher on coal/steel ships has arrived
invicta2012 replied to Sir_Sinksalot's topic in General Discussion
They're not as much fun, though, and they cost more to run than Marceau and Pommern. I've bought Carnot and Ise today - both great - I'm vacillating between Marceau and Napoli for my Coal discount. God alone knows what I'm using my Doubloon discount coupon for - I have enough Doubloons for everything from Tier VIII down and I'm dithering. I'd love to buy Indomitable (because... Sea Hornets) but CVs are useless in PvE. Constellation, Congress, Rochester and Eugen appeal....is Borodino good? I'd love to buy a British ship but I don't see anything in the shop better than Edinburgh or Lightning at Tier VIII or below, so I guess it will have to be one of those four. -
DOY has hydro, though, which is useful for brawling. Not that you'll want to do much (any?) of that in a British BB. :)

Carnot and Charleston.

Best Tier 6 tech-tree ships to play in Operations?
invicta2012 replied to CaravellaCaravan's topic in General Discussion
You're telling me you've never rushed the Izumo in Newport in a German CV? That's the most fun you can have in that game.
