    Poll: Canarias or Dido?

20, which is doable. I bought the doubloon containers, so I've paid cash shop prices, really. Which is fine with me as I've always wanted both of these ships.

    Poll: Canarias or Dido?

Here we go then. I whaled. Canarias will be in port later today if I can get these Challenge missions done...

    Chumphon & Co

I'm interested, as it's next on my unlock list. What's wrong with it compared to Atlanta/Flint?

Looks like they are selling tier x ships aswell

    a) no b) no

What you will take/prefer more Weimar or Lazo?

Nice ship but a bit squishy, surely? She's more of an island hugging HE spammer.

    Lion Class Hybrid Carrier

It's a Lion, though. Visible from space, citadel the size of Yorkshire, and beset with RN planes (which aren't very good). Maybe if WG gave her Indomitable's gimmick (fast bombers) that might work....

Nerf to Chungking incoming in the next patch, apparently they gave her RN AP rather than standard AP. Shame, but it does mean I want HMS Aurora as a Tier V Prem even more than ever, as the CK was good fun.

    Italian DDs

They can't, but you can troll the BB with italian torpedoes, just as anyone with any sense does with their Italian CLs. I quite like the idea of that playstyle.

Examining my Port, I find ......

It's the port of Rotterdam with its peaceful music and historic vistas (no sign of Jeff Bezos' massive yacht, although I will sink it if I see it). It is filled with 175 ships of various nations, but predominantly French, British, German and American. What's particularly notable is that there are only three Tier X ships in there (I find completing ships lines results in obtaining ships which are too expensive to play in PVE) and a lot of ship lines I am currently regrinding (IJN/KM/RN Cruisers). Probably more Tier VIs than anything else. Most popular? RN. Least popular? Netherlands (1).

Historical ships you would like to see

Much worse than the Queen Elizabeths. After the sinking of Hood the Royal Navy did a review of the armour protection of their capital ships and issued guidance to their skippers on how to engage enemy battleships. The advice to the Revenge class was basically "don't", as their armour was too weak to deal with plunging fire and they were too slow to be able to close the range or disengage if needed. To be fair to them, only Royal Oak had been properly modernised, but you only have to look at their wartime utility to see how rubbish they were. Blackadder's "advanced as far as an asthmatic ant with some heavy shopping" comes to mind.

    Italian DDs

That's because they're mistaking "Ambush" for "YOLO". What happened to "Don't Die" as the first rule of DD play? These ships have 10km torpedoes at Tier V, why are they launching themselves (rather than the torps) into caps?

    Poll: Canarias or Dido?

Yes, but have they done that yet? There would be accusations of bait and switch if they got people to spend money on a Premium ship which was OP and then nerfed it, even if that was for balancing reasons. One for the local server to enjoy? Perhaps they're looking to hook some new players on the Asia server. Personally I'd have given her four turrets of either gun calibre with a faster reload and left the "authentic" ship to Dido.

    Poll: Canarias or Dido?

Isn't that just because of the "we don't nerf premiums" business? Rahmat is very good (although I think they should have given her the 113mm guns only, tbh) and so releasing the original DIdo (with the potential to be better, esp. with high skill captains and good div. mates was likely to become another Belfast Incident.

Historical ships you would like to see

The Olympic would be better. Armed merchant cruisers / concealed raiders isn't a bad idea, though. I do like this story, though - it's the world's first sea battle between ocean liners: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SMS_Cap_Trafalgar Drachinfel, of course, has a video about this - and worth staying with it for the story of the Stier and the Stephen Hopkins.

Historical ships you would like to see

I'd love to have that back (limited to ships that were involved). Scenarios based on real world events such as the Narvik battles and the Naval Battles of Guadalcanal would be great, too.

Historical ships you would like to see

I'm still angling for a DD based event where you can grind for notable destroyer captains - Vian, Warbuton-Lee, Loftus-Jones, Ernest Evans, Friedrich Bonte, Eugeniusz Pławski, etc. Very often it was the Destroyer captains and their crews who ended up getting the very short and sharp end of the stick in Naval Warfare, and I think it would be a good thing for WG to re-engage with some historical stories.

    Poll: Canarias or Dido?

<admires extensive collection of T6 cruisers and considers how it could be enlarged> And their 44% chance of dropping 25 special signals. Ambassador, you are really spoiling us.

    Italian DDs

The ricochet angles on the lower tier DDs have been changed - https://blog.worldofwarships.com/blog/275. They used to have a Tachibana-esque ability to avoid ricochet. Now it's still good - like Paolo Emilio or an RN CL or high tier DD - but that should make it possible to get into a gun fight with them without SAP being an "I Win" button.
  19. Quite. It looks like WG have backed off from the Agincourt/Missouri shenanigans of last year.
  20. invicta2012

    Poll: Canarias or Dido?

Both, probably. Rahmat is fun so Dido should be, and Canarias is a County, pretty much, and as they're my favourite cruiser design bar none, I would be happy with this one provided WG don't nerf it too hard between now and launch. I get the feeling she was highly anticipated because she was a bit OTT - especially as people have more high skill British captains than Pan-Asian ones. You can see from Rahmat that a well specc'd, well played Dido will be a bit spicy.

Historical ships you would like to see

WG seem to think it's overpowered. Historical Ships? Oh boy. Georgios Averof (III) HMS Southampton, Sheffield, Cavalier, Kelly (VII) the BCs (Invincible/Lion/Queen Mary/Tiger/Renown) (III/IV/V/VI) A Commonwealth tree (DDs, probably, there's I-X), as well as HMAS Canberra (VI) HMNos Stord (VII), Sleipner (II) Tromp, Jacob van Heermskerck (could be cruisers, could be Dutch DDs) Mikuma (VIII), Nagara, Kako (IV/V of an IJN Torpedo Cruiser line) USS Washington (VII/IX) Bolzano (VII) Scharnhorst 1906 (III), Blucher 1908 (IV) ..just a few....
  22. Yup, +1 for that. We've been testing these things for years and they're just not fun to play or to play against. How much of a failure can an idea be?

Where do i access all commanders and the reserve?

Find your ship. Click on the Commander to open the Commander Skills window. Click on "Change Commander". The left hand column is all the Commanders in your reserve.

    Chumphon & Co

It's very Atlanta, isn't it? The HE rainbow....
  25. Well, I did have two occasions yesterday when gun cruisers intentionally blocked my torpedo shots to get a kill themselves. It's quite common behaviour amongst the PVE farming community.
