  1. I have heard of those. I have also heard that the reason the Soviet Union had so many paper designs was because they didn't know how to build battleship armour, guns or propulsion systems and were using the tendering process to lift as much information as they could from foreign shipbuilders in the hope that they could reverse engineer it all (which they were very good at). So presumably Tiers VII and VIII will be Nelsongrad and Littoriov....
  2. I would love to know what they're going to put in that line. Are there even paper ships to go between Tiers VI and X?

    Haida, eh?

I bought this ship a while ago, and sold it. Didn't get on with it. WG's new premium policy and the fact that it gives bonuses to the RN campaign meant I got it back again. And I still don't like it. Six guns with super-floaty arcs, four torpedoes. Concealment is nice, smoke is useful, hydro too, but to be honest I'm having trouble damaging anything other than BBs which aren't paying attention. Any tips? Is there any reason to play it when there's Jervis and Gadjah Mada?
  4. Having played in Random games with both of them, I can say that Jingles is the one I haven't sunk. So he can't be that bad. Although his channel seems to be about Assassin's Creed, these days.

    Haida, eh?

It had great concealment and better weapons when it was launched, but now the IJN DDs have buffed guns and fancy their chances in a dogfight, the RN ones have x2.5 as many torps and the same concealment, and her big sister Cossack out spots her everyday of the week. When that happens you're banjaxed. So really you're OK against the American and German ones. Sometimes.

    RNL PREMIUM CRUISERS = 0

Not at all. I just wish that WG would stop releasing high concept British cruisers which only function in a certain way. If they do British Heavy Cruisers I would like them to be like Pensacola, Yorck and Algerie... Uncomplicated. You sail them about, shoot things with the right ammo, dodge, and sometimes explode if you show too much broadside. Is fun. They could get a lot of mileage of the RN cruisers if they got around to them... RN, Aussie and Spanish ones based on the Counties, RN and Canadian Crown Colony and Swiftsure cruisers, RN and NZ Dido class...

    RNL PREMIUM CRUISERS = 0

Bit of a Box O'Gimmicks, though. I have the feeling the WG designers think RN cruisers are rubbish and don't know what do to with them. Well, OK, remove them both. Russia has 13 premium cruisers, Britain has 0. Happy now? It's possibly the most infamously overpowered cruiser in the game,, and even after the smoke nerf it still is.

    Haida, eh?

That's about 1,000,000 rubbish games away, though.

    Haida, eh?

There are a fair few I don't really care for, or where I'd rather play a Silver Ship. Why do I want Graf Spee when I have Normandie, for example? My port has expanded (I have far too many DDs at the moment) and there's always a cull...

    RNL PREMIUM CRUISERS = 0

The problem is that the only remaining actual Russian / Soviet cruisers are the Admiral Nakhimov class, and even WG aren't daft enough to go with a ship called Chervona Ukraina (Red Ukraine) at the moment. You could have Krasnyi Kavkaz, but that's Krasny Krym's hull with 4 x single Kirov guns, which sounds like it would be hopeless and OP at the same time.

    RNL PREMIUM CRUISERS = 0

...so why is it that pretty much all nations have some sort of premium cruiser to choose from? Japan = 5 Atago + Yubari + Katori + Yahagi (incoming) + Azuma (incoming) USA= 11 Albany + Indianapolis + Boise + Salem + Alaska + Wichita + Atlanta + Marblehead + Marblehead Lima + Charleston + Flint Germany = 3 Emden + Graf Spee + Prinz Eugen Italy = 2 Duca D'Aosta + Duca Degli Abruzzi Pan Asian = 2 Huang He + Irian (incoming) Commonwealth = 1 Perth France =1 De Grasse Pan American = 1 Nuevo De Julio Russia = all the cruisers Lazo (incoming) + Kutozov + Stalingrad + Krondshtadt + Oleg + Varyag + Krasny Krym + Molotov + Makarov + Murmansk + Diana + Diana Lima + Aurora Britain = 0 Despite the fact that they have the Arethusa and Town Class CLs modelled. Not that we're cross about this. At ALL. Guys what do you think on this? If we were to get a couple what would you like to see? Obviously the Belfast with every consumable out there isn't the way to go so.... AA Cruisers - Tier IV, Carlisle, Tier V Delhi, Tier VI Arethusa - these would be HE focused with higher tier guns but RN DD gun arcs, big loopy things like Atlanta Standard cruisers: Tier V - Arethusa (3 x 2 x 6 inch, Emerald torps), Tier VI Exeter (3 x 2 x 8 inch, RN DD smoke) , Tier VII - Sheffield, Smoke or Radar, not both

    warned for team damage. torpedoes

Because your torpedo damaged a friendly ship, and WG's auto system doesn't take into account intent when deciding to punish you. It happens. Reflect on whether you are being careful with your torpedoes and whether you could have been more considerate, then take your medicine and move on.

    West Virginia in the shop

Well, OK. Let's have the Revenge class at Tier V. Slow as hell, but 8 x 15 inch should sort out a few issues with Guilio Cesare, Nikolai and Viribus.... shouldn't it?

    The Balance About DD(destroyer)

Limit them to what sort of DD, and how do you know what they're good at if you don't let them play?
  16. invicta2012

    Mountain Mama in the shop

Yup. Save your AP for broadside ships or ones at long range where you can penetrate the deck armour.

    West Virginia in the shop

So given that we have Mushashi (Yamato guns at Tier IX), West Virginia (Colorado guns at Tier VI), can we have Repulse? Tier VI guns as Tier V would make just as much sense....

North Carolina? Great ship. I don't play Tier VIII much due to the constant feeling of being food for Tier X captains, but NC gives you the feeling you can compete. Worth every second spent grinding through Colorado.

How much none converted ship XP do you have?

3.6 million. Of which 620,000 is on Krasny Krym.

Analysis of AA rework and Ship/CV-interaction

I see them playing destroyers and cruisers, one dev strike away from being back in port..... CVs should combine the overall durability of a BB, the ability to make a mistake and come back from it, but their individual attacking units should be as fragile as a DD, and they shouldn't have the ability to dev strike things or nag ships to death without there being a fair counter strategy.

    Mountain Mama in the shop

They will be quite strong, but she's still facing ships which are faster, nimbler or just have more guns. It'll be OK if you like that sort of thing.
  23. invicta2012

Analysis of AA rework and Ship/CV-interaction

We didn't ask for that. What people hate about CVs is their ability to deliver DD levels of damage without incurring DD levels of risk.... If the rework doesn't correct that then it's a complete failure. By the sounds of it the planes are too fast, can attack too often, and defence against the CV, the heart of the entire matter, has been given no thought whatsoever.

    Mountain Mama in the shop

Yes, but the slow ones tend to cop more HE (and torpedoes). We all know the US BBs have good guns but they don't become good all rounders until Tier VIII when they get better speed and mobility.. .. New Mexico and Colorado tend to struggle to get into a game, but excel at being in the wrong place, getting focused and being burnt down. WV will be no different.
