    It's not 8.0...

    Contradiction, much?

Giulio Cesare to be changed to T6.

They could tweak that a bit, too. Wikipedia mentions a plan to re-arm Conte Di Cavour with an improved secondary/anti AA suite. No-one is going to grumble about a small AA buff at the moment....

Giulio Cesare to be changed to T6.

The important thing here is that the CV rework has changed the game meta, so what was an OP ship might suddenly take a drop in efficacy. Belfast, for example, might attract some interest from rocket planes, smoke or no smoke. So the question is: is the GC still OP when there are new CVS?

    Bring Back Bogue!

Anyway... still playing Langley, still finding it a bit boring. Today's problem is the impasse that results when you get to the end of a game. You can attack DDs OK but firepower against battleships and cruisers seems limited (or difficult to deploy in those wretched dive bombers). CVs attacking each other is non-productive - they have better AA at any other ship at their tier, so it usually ends up in a small damage/large losses bad trade. Overall towards the end of the game your potenial damage is so limited you can't focus down the larger vessels that remain. It would take ten successful torpedo runs to sink a Wyoming, for example. I would definitely prefer a two-torp wide spaced attack pattern here, to give cruisers and DDs a fair chance to dodge but to have more impact against BBs.

    Bring Back Bogue!

I know that so much of the 0.8.0 comment is about how OP CVs are, but I also know that one of the intents of the CV rework was to get more people playing CVs. Not if they have to play Langley, it won't. (Let me save you the trouble. Git gud, noob). But really. Rocket planes that do DD damage on a BB traverse. Torpedoes which are slower than most Tier IV DDs, and which have trouble hitting anything other than a South Carolina who's forgotten which button makes him go forwards. Dive bombers which are agonisingly ineffective. The squadrons melt under T5 AA and if anyone finds you, your planes do so little damage you can't defend yourself. Really. This is a whole heap of no fun. Pls to be starting the line at Tier V, buff the damage and give new CV players a reasonable chance to enjoy themselves. The idea of taking Langers out for 70-80 games against ships like Exeter, Krasny Krym , Bretagne or Okt. Revska is just horrible. We liked Bogue. She was historical and had a bit of punch. Little jeep carriers with small squads would be balanced, too, as losing planes would matter. Please, WG? (Oh, and do post your new Langley stats when you post. 10 games or so should be enough to feel the true horror of the situation).

Giulio Cesare to be changed to T6.

I'm not too bothered. Based on the cups of coffee theory of value I've had my fun out of GC several times over. I'd like to see how Battlecruisers would be implemented in the game so a PEF style ship is fine with me: they can always tweak the shells for more reasonable performance at Tier VI - works for the French, after all.

Giulio Cesare to be changed to T6.

...is OP imo. She is. But so is Medea. And if you're playing Tier II outside of the protected MM for newbies, then all bets are off, really. Best sealclubber wins, and good luck to them.

Giulio Cesare to be changed to T6.

Hmm. As a habitual premium purchaser I would say... A Tier VI "Original" Cleveland/Columbia premium would be a must buy. Vampire is brilliant, but she's a Tier III DD - don't expect miracles Huang He - got a buff from the recent AA changes. Good little versatile ship, excellent close support for DDs around caps. Dunkerque - just got a buff, always a fun ship There are lots of fun ones, really: Tachibana, Murmansk, Krasny Krym, Warspite, Duca, Monaghan, Scharnhorst, Atlanta... and they have my cash already for Exeter and Leone. I hope they make uptiered GC distinctive to play. I don't care about her being OP, and a "super heavy cruiser" in the Scharnhorst mould with enhanced manoeuvrability, traverse and fire chance might be fun.

    Bring Back Bogue!

I was doing that mission where you need to hit things 500 times with Main Battery. There is no other choice for missions like that! And KK doesn't care who she's up against. I wish I still had the replay when I sank a KGV and a Shchors. With torpedoes. Those things hit like a truck, which everyone forgets. Only if she comes with Sea Harriers. Admittedly, with the F-key spam around at the moment all CV planes appear to be Sea Harriers, but it would be a nice thing to have.

Giulio Cesare to be changed to T6.

I dont mind the idea of this too much. Probably better to try and make it work at Tier VI than have to nerf it down to an acceptable T5 level. If they chuck in the Leone for free, that would be nice. That said I have enough T6bbs to play so the doubloons could go on other things, like a Nelson...

    Bring Back Bogue!

Well, it can: https://replayswows.com/replay/41168 That was two Langleys! Overall I do agree that rocket planes are the way to go but jeez, that is going to be dull. Looking at your stats I see a max XP of 767 - at that rate you're going to need 80 games to get to the Ranger. Well, the class served in the Royal Navy, too.... hint hint. A few more Swordfish, some half-decent torpedoes, and we'd be getting there.

    Bring Back Bogue!

You don't understand. Why would anyone play a difficult ship which does no damage when there are more, fun, options available? And how much damage do you think you will do in a Langley even if you manage to hit something? An Isokaze can land six torps per side. Langley can land one per flight, and that will do 2K damage. Orion has ten 13.5 inch guns which fire every 30 seconds. Langley has six rockets. She has no fighters, no defensive role whatsoever and pitiful speed. "Rush The CV" has become a popular - and justifiable - tactic, and there is nothing you can do to defend yourself.

    General feedback

BUG: CV Suicide does not count as Teamkill damage (torp yourself, sink yourself, you won't go pink). BUG: flying planes into an unoccupied cap will start a capture countdown timer (which will countdown to zero, although the cap will not actually go to the side of the CV).

    Fix Atlanta AA please

B Hull for Atlanta now! After all, that's what Flint is...

    Fix Atlanta AA please

Oh yes. First ship to use them was the Helena, ironically. After 1943 life for a Japanese aviator became nasty, short and brutish, and that ammo was one of the main reasons. Oh, I agree, but it is a strategy that you can use at the moment. A DD should be using a cruisers long range AA and be prepared to double back and support with their short/mid if that cruiser gets focused. The key thing about mid and short range AA btw is the number of bursts and the chance of a hit, rather than the base potential damage of each, which is why Cleveland is a much more scary proposition than Atlanta... More bursts.

    Fix Atlanta AA please

I think WG have done this to encourage teamplay. And it does, of a kind. A US DD like Farragut or Monaghan would be a good pairing, or another cruiser like Yorck (DFAA, Fighters, good mid-range AA) or Cleveland. The days of Atlanta as a standalone AA ship appear to be over.
  19. invicta2012

    Fix Atlanta AA please

If you'd got your long range AA auras to interlock it would have been devastating. But who is going to do that? You should probably try and team up with a ship with better mid/short range AA, though.

IChase and his new CV tactics.

Yes, and look what happened with the WoWp rework. Not a resounding success.
  21. invicta2012

    Fix Atlanta AA please

He dodged your flak. Probably by flying a curve on the way in and using his speed controls to be either ahead or behind of the flak bursts. This is what tends to happen - CV players use their speed boost/air brake to make the attack successfully and then don't really worry about an exit strategy. They can press F to return the squad to the CV automatically, you might get a couple of kills if they forget to do so, but you've taken the damage. It's a good trade for them .
  22. invicta2012

    Fix Atlanta AA please

DFAA increases your continuous damage and the damage of the flak bursts. Continuous damage isn't devastating and probably won't stop a squad anymore. Flak bursts will, but if they can dodge them, the effect of DFAA is nothing at all. There are also AA auras to consider - below 3k Atlanta's AA isn't as good as several US destroyers of the same Tier or below. The "closer they get, the more damage you do" rule no longer applies so what used to shred planes - the cumulative value of all her AA - no longer works.

    Idea for better DD play

Has anyone else noticed you don't get torpedo alerts from CV dropped torps? Getting shot from behind in a smoked up DD was, er, unexpected. Still, found and gunned down both CVs in that game. CVs are helpless if you can find them, and Podvoisky's speed and guns make a mess of them.
  24. invicta2012

    Idea for better DD play

Didn't often happen at mid-Tier. Lots of CVs at Tier IV and V, fewer above that. Presumably there were lots of high-end CVs causing problems but I wouldn't know - or care, really. There are enough ways to get dev struck up there that it barely seems worth worrying about. It's true that the CV population is much higher than it normally is, but that illustrates another one of the main problems with CVs: to counter them, you have to prepare by changing modules and skills which may not be relevant to the game you end up in.
  25. invicta2012

How to manually AIm AA now???

Each squadron of torp planes has three attack squads of two planes each. A CV can have more than one squadron of each type of plane available. So... launch first squadron. Attack once. Attack again. Attack third time. Immediately send first squadron back to CV by pressing F. This will return you to the carrier where you can launch the second squadron of TBs while the first one is coming back. If you close the distance on your enemies you can have planes in the air coming to attack while they're still dealing with the torpedoes you launched with the first squadron. Fun and engaging.
