Would you care to explain how many flags you've used as well? Because I can't see how you'd get through the 5,600,000 damage mission in Directive 2 so quickly, so I'm presuming you've done the XP Missions?

Well, sometimes they do come up with stuff. I often feel (and it may be the mechanics of Pseudo RNG) that I get better results from the one-offs bought on different days rather than the big box sets, where you tend to get runs of similar results. I bought a Big Gift Container today - went out and didn't buy a coffee while I was out, so that money could be used for something else - and look what fell out? Quite pleased with this.

You could have bought Puerto Rico for that. :)

How far "Average Joe" player can go with the "Puerto Rico" building stages without using Doubloon accelerators at all?

Directive 2 has some really boring elements to it. What they seem to have missed is that when everyone is doing the directives, games last about 5 minutes, tops. Last week it would have been easy to get half a million potential damage a game... now you can't even get that in a mental YOLO... -
WG finaly did it, they made bots behave like Humans!

I have seen that one too. They seem to be very fond of that particular island, because any BB that spawns there just parks up. I think it was a New Mexico, last time. -
More historical IJN ships, please!

Well, that should tell WG something about the expectations of the player base which they have built over the last 12 months. The problem with making FOMO and pay-to-catch-up the focus is that the game ends up being horribly congested at Tier X, rendering the other Tiers and game modes irrelevant, and, in the end, destroying the quality of play in the Tiers that WG want - and financially need - people to focus on. A bit of TLC to other Tiers, restoring the longevity and value of Premiums from Tier V-VIII, would go a long way to sustaining long-term commitment from the players and longer-term, sustained income for WG... but they've gone for the quick boom and bust model.- 37 replies

I vote Dockyard. Play lots of IJN DDs to get a new one.

It is comedic. I just had someone in a Hood attempt to blow up my Shiratsuyu as I was "stealing his kill" (I was 2km from a Colorado, ffs... Should have brought the right ship, matey). TRB's Shira's wall of skill is very useful against straightlining bots and is speeding up the whole tedious process immensely well. 3 games, ten kills... that will do nicely. -
Because the presence of another ship inside the cap circle shortens the countdown timer, so they assist with the capture even if they are in there for only a few seconds. Everyone gets credit as a result.

Objectively? It's different to the other Tier VII CAs, and I like that. I don't see it as being weaker in armour or gunnery, it's just as good (if not better) in terms of speed and manoeuvrability than any of the others, and it gives a good hard whack to DDs and CLs, which is quite satisfying. CLs have been the gold standard cruiser for so long at mid tiers it's nice to have some decent heavy cruisers to play with.
-
Well, Perth isn't quite Leander, either. They do different things. Gorizia has her moments, if you can get near a cap with DDs trying to take them.
-
Well, that's a nice surprise... :)

Cheers!

Stage Two, at the moment. I don't care about the PR, the graphics look nice and the Dockyard keeps giving me things, which is also nice. -
Gated freemium content making the game less attractive for non-hardcores?

The thing is... People aren't really used to long-term grinds in Wows. Not any more, at least. WG release a new line of ships and Boom! there's loads of Tier Xs around, the day after release. Who works their way up the line anymore? Where people might have played five or six ships in each release, now they play three, or less. People seem to have vast stocks of resources, and they're more than happy to drop them on whatever is new. And WG are more than happy for them to do that, because it creates FOMO in other players, who then rush to the cash shop to try and keep up. Flags, doubloons, whatever it takes. As to the efficacy of long term grinds... I wonder how many Shinonome's have been given away recently? For a free Tier VI, that's quite a Campaign to grind out that level of reward (probably worse than the Gorizia one). -
Several steps. I understand that WG is pushing premium ships as a shortcut, but having an event ship like Gorizia and mega grindy directives which push players towards other Premium ships (JB/Massa for secondaries, Kidd for planes) feels unreasonable.... and just a bit dull.
-
It's not hard, but this particular set of directives seems intent on making it feel like a grind, rather than rewarding general and enjoyable play. I'm not sure why they've done it. Surely the snowflake event is about dusting off ships you might not have played for a while, playing different Tiers and game modes, a good thing, rather more fun than these directives with their "get 5000 secondary hits" and "shoot down 500 planes" nonsense.
-
I'm not sure that's the case, tbh. Learning to use SAP helps, and compared to several of her peers (Algerie and Myoko) she is both more nimble and more durable. SAP, smoke and Hydro makes her lethal against destroyers, you can get good chunk damage against BBs too if you pick the right target and position. Yes, no torps can leave you up the Swanee River, but that's no different to an American CA.
-
I did buy Gorizia (and have grown to like it). Directive one is done, Two is 4/6. I've unlocked Furious, got credits for I mail and a Tier VIII perma camo for Hseinyang. So it's all good.
-
You do. You can have that or hydro. I like the hydro, personally, but I know some players who would take TRB everytime.

Ajax camouflage alternative pallete.

Leander is getting like Blyska in a "too many camos" sort of way. She already has one of my favourite perma camos (the two sided one you buy for doubloons*) and now this. Choices, choices. *see below. One side is North Atlantic, the other side is the Med. -
I want a new cruiser line to try, any advice?
invicta2012 replied to Nexio_'s topic in General Discussion
Is the verdict in on the Italians yet? I'm playing rather a lot of Gorizia at the moment and rather enjoying it...if the high tier Cruisers are as good as they say it might be a line worth investigating. -
Neither of them have a torpedo reload booster, though. HH does. HH is a fun ship and her AP hits hard. I find her main problem to be losing speed and not being able to regain it, a bad thing in a little cruiser that needs to dodge and definitely not be caught in the open.

Scharnhorst. Can't hit a barn door in it. No idea why. I'm told it has better dispersion than any other BB at it's Tier, but it just makes me miss, every time. Also: Gadjah Mada. People keep telling me how great this DD is, but I do better in Jervis, or Haida... which are pretty much the same ship. GM always clunked, no idea why.

Make the correct choice this Christmas.

£200? Well, let's see. That's my cat (£75, donation when adopting a large ginger cat from Battersea: https://www.battersea.org.uk/cats/cat-rehoming-gallery), a bottle of my favourite whisky (Clynelish, £40), tickets to take the family to the Cinema over Christmas (£50), and £30 to a charity of choice - https://www.crisis.org.uk. There may even be some cash left for a Laarge Laaaaate (being from the West of England, I can't order this without turning into a Pirate) and some KFC for the junk-food obsessed cat Battersea palmed off onto me....
