I love mid tier IJN DDs and Yudachi can be very effective. I was hoping for a little more Fubuki, being able to pick BBs off from range... But the torps are slow and detectable from space, its a terrible sniper and brawling is hazardous.

They help with some of the later ones (Directive 3 onwards) as does Ranked. More naughty (but welcome) backpedalling from WG.

Loot boxes. But you don't have much of a chance of getting one from those, unless you spend £££. And she's not worth that much.

Normandie is good. Leander and her sisters are great in Operations, as are French DDs. You can be very aggressive in a Guepard, you have a good health pool, good speed and strong guns and torpedoes.

Jaguar is a cracking little ship. As is Murmansk.... I wouldn't bother with Gorizia if you don't need it for event directives. Zara is good enough. The only normal Premium I regret buying is Yudachi. I would trade 3k torp range for 3kts more speed, every day of the week. And the ability is other players to run into torps with a 2.5k detection range is unbelievable.

There wouldn't be any reason to play it for most. After a week or two it would follow the trajectory of every solo PVP game mode ever : the zone of the uber try hard with the designated PVP build. WG could, of course, get plenty of £££ by milking that kind of player hard with new Premium releases, captains, etc, because this are the only things which change the PVP meta once set, and anything which does that becomes a must have. We probably don't want to encourage that. It teaches you ways to play which used to be pretty commonplace before radar and CV permaspotting.

Nah. Single PVP adds toxicity to a community like nothing else going. Occasional sprints are enough.

You can get Gorizia by completing three of the seven new year directives. Those directives can be completed without her, but buying Gorizia would make them faster as there are special parts of the directives for her which are easier to complete. The reason for this was that completing the first three directives ASAP gave a massive boost to the Puerto Rico build, and buying Gorizia made that easier. WG did not make that very clear. If you have already bought the ship then completing the three directives will get you doubloon compensation. When you get the Gorizia you then get the four missions for Furious, Izmail, Trento (+1, I forget which), and 2 new year camos.

British CAs? Hydro, repair, spotter, torps.

Stock up on as many vision tools as you can (hydro, radar, planes). Cap first, preferably somewhere he cannot see you and where he will have to take torpedoes to get close Eventually he will rush you. Take your shot and you can halve his HP in one salvo. Then you've evened the odds a bit. Can't say it would work every time but I defeated a Massachusetts this morning that way.

It's boring and crap. Another Bad Idea in what has been a long series of them.

Aim for his turrets? French BB turrets are normally pretty easy to knock out.

You can now complete economic Directives from PR in Ranked.

I did have a Tier VIII CV that fell out of a loot box but I sold it (I really don't like CVs). I have only slow Tier VIII BBs , too. Playing rock-paper-scissors, with the rest, then.... Huang He is an RN Arethusa class CL with Soviet era guns. The ship was very real, the guns a plan; but a realistic one (I think they're similar to Molotov).

That's not how it works. You bought a random loot crate. You knew the prizes were random, and that you might not get something you wanted. So either sell it for credits (you can always restore it later), play it (it's a fun ship), or sulk - you won't get a refund, nor should you.

Mainz is a Tier VIII.... and they are probably almost out of Tier X Super Cruisers to flog ( although there were some speculative plans for an RN Alaska style ship, I have the feeling the RN market is not that receptive to made up ships).

Nah. As far as I am aware there is an infinite number of napkin ships in development for WG's larger markets and actual historic ships are a bit of a way away. I think the first Coal cruiser will actually be Mainz. It looks like a odd duck, of the sort that people won't get for hard cash.

HMS Sheffield. One of Belfast's sisters. Tier VII British Light cruiser. Fires HE and AP. Has a choice of spotter or smoke or radar, rather like the higher Tier RN CAs - entirely appropriate, as Sheffield was the first radar equipped cruiser in the RN. Extensive war record - took part in the sinking of the Bismarck and Scharhorst, engaged the Admiral Hipper. Sheffield would give you a Premium ship with a similar but slightly different feel to the Fiji, would have a use in Operations and in stock form would provide a useful trainer for the higher Tier RN CAs. For added value she could also be provided in Pacific Fleet 1945 rebuild form with X Turret removed and improved AA/radar... and perhaps DFAA? Price = 110,000 Coal
