  1. Eagle is a IV, Courageous and Glorious are VI. Independence looks like an American VI, or possibly Wasp with a Kaga style load out of loads of low HP planes. But to be honest.... I don't think anyone wants more fleet carriers at the moment. They need to do something else with the game play.

    Did you see Notser's video on the improved AA module? Apparently it takes 2 seconds off the recharge of your Priority AA sector, which means you can actually prevent the second/third pass....

    Nothing wrong with Albemarle. Hawkins looks a decent cruiser but she can be blatted easily, as with any Tier V.

    Fiji, played well and aggressively, is very strong. You can Rampage through the Narai OP in one of those, it's comedic how much damage you can do. Her fragility balances it, though. For best Tier VII CL I think it's probably Boise/NdJ with the super heal, but Fiji runs it close. In terms of RN Cruisers Edinburgh is very good too, but the opposition is stronger at VIII.

    Definitely. Get rid of the CVS, small maps and the low Tier adaptations on the ships (low range on BB main guns, secondaries which fire once a week) and we could have a proper game mode from the classic Battleship era.

    I would like to get one of these back. Although for full effect this would mean turning the anime captains on again as well, which could make playing the Musashi a more squeaky experience than I like. Is there an ARP Yamato class, btw? A neon pink version is just what the game needs.

    Yes! Let's give DDs that proposed Radar that Soviet Battleships were going to get. It had a 15k range and it only spotted BBs and CVs. It was going to have a 40 second duration at Tier VIII, 50 at IX and 60 second duration at Tier X. (Imagine the Kremlin with that). Imagine the fun you could have.
  9. They have no idea what they're doing at that tier and I don't think they really care. There seems to be a lack of interest (and what can you expect from people who see "game lore" rather than "history"). There are many ships they could add to make life harder for CVs but they don't want to... the warning for the implemenation of Submarines is that that WG no longer has any interest in providing an adequate counter to their newest inventions. Rock-paper-scissors is gone, it's about cashing in on pay-to-farm ships and classes.

    Of course not. That's why playing in divisions has no effect on WR. Or why there is no qualitative difference between the quality of play a Clan match and a Random one.

    The biggest problem for any random team is getting enough of the players to agree on the tactics to be used in the time available. So a bit of map pinging is a good idea (sometimes). Obtuse teams (who don't communicate or co-ordinate) lose quickly, almost always regardless of the quality of the individual players. (If a losing streak has an origin, it's more often about the cumulative erosion of faith the the efficacy of other players and the resulting reversion to stock tactics or striving for an individual carry than anything else).

    Oh, go on. Can I have a Royal Navy County Class DD, please? Cruiser displacement (I think they reused the Minotaur hull) , 2 x Daring turrets on the front, 3 inch AA mounts and a nuclear tipped Sea Slug battery (that'll spice things up). I think they could even have a 1980s upgrade and replace B turret with a quad Exocet launcher. That would be hilarious.

    I citadelled one through the deck from 10k away.... a touch of the Emeralds, there. But the more you play it now, the more progress you'll make towards unlocking Devonshire (the XP you make now isn't lost when the ship is released to the Tech Tree, so you get a fully upgraded ship and progress to the next one). Devonshire seems quite strong, too, from what I've seen of it.

    £35. You could have bought the flamin' Siliwangi and had money for coffee and cake afterwards. Alternatively, that's about 12.5k doubloons. Lo Yang and Huang He, near as. Why go for lootboxes?

    Get rid of Epicenter on Ice Islands

    I don't like Epicentre on this map, as everyone says, it's too big. And I will admit to having no idea what snowstorms or thunderstorms actually do in this game. It usually just makes me want to put the windscreen wipers on. I do quite like the Epicentre map you get in mid Tiers, where everyone ends up on either side of the island in the cap, before making a Tier III YOLO charge at each other. That's the sort of aggressive play this mode needs.

    It's tremendous around caps and on flanks. The guns will wreck destroyers and citadel cruisers with ease, but with BBs you need more angle and then go for the superstructure, bow or stern. I think I have PT, LS, AR, SI, CE and RPF on mine. You want to be sneaking up on people, not vice versa.

    It's been like it for the last few weeks. Sudden pauses in the connection and the resulting client desync - second long "stutters". No reason for it to be anything to do with my ISP - my son is playing STO at the same time and his connection is just fine - so the suspicion is that the routing of the connection to WG's servers is to blame.

    I've nearly unlocked Chung Mu, so I've got no choice but to keep going. I wasn't going to bother with the Tier X, poor thing. Someone at WG HQ really does not like destroyers....

    Most of the cruisers in my port have torps with a detection range of 1.0-1.3 km. Cruiser torps are often used in "do or die" scenarios, ambushes or to ward off onrushing heavy ships. Those ships will now have an extra 0.5-0.8k warning of incoming torpedoes, and that's a problem for cruisers, because if they get into torp range they have to make a decisive strike and now it looks as if that's going to be very much more difficult against anyone with the new module.

    Isn't XP also based on the tier of the ship you damage, so that damaging higher Tier ships gives more XP? Empirically that feels right...
