It's a CV. I don't know, I don't care. It's not terrible. It's unfortunate that so many players of this game are so dismissive of anything properly balanced. Saying that ships are poor unless they have significant advantages in some areas and massive flaws in another leads us down the path of the Soviet Battleship; massive guns, massive citadel... and if you keep the latter covered up the ship with an island the ship becomes OP. There's so much of this design in the game - and what results isn't interesting play, it's just the static campfest where people try and induce mistakes, so that they can execute that one particular thing their ships does better than others.

They'll be normal Tech Tree ships in the next patch. 3-4 weeks.

There is the possibility that I might, and SI is economically cheaper than using premium consumables. BFT might be an option if WG ever get around to fixing her secondaries, but if I'm being honest this is one of the ships that gets a heck of a lot more benefit from 1 and 2 pt skills than it does from most of the 3/4 pt ones. I do on many ships, but I've warmed to RPF on cruisers of late, as it gives more information to work with rather than just building for good concealment and hoping not to get jumped. With so many fast BBs and gunboat DDs about it's important to have that extra warning. I agree about the value of PT and close attention. IFA is optional, just gives a little extra information. You could use the point on PM or go for LS on the 2 pt line - a ship that has to kite a bit is always at risk of losing it's **** rudder.

Albemarle? I think I have PT, IFA, AR, SI, and RPF. She tends to take damage, so you want AR to benefit from that, SI gives you the ability to heal, the other skills are about not getting taken by surprise or sniped.

I think we already have that one... What we need, with the incoming Sverige DDs, is Musko. Not heard of it? It's an underground naval base that should be in a James Bond movie. The ships dock inside a headland, not in open water. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muskö_naval_base

CLs at Tier VIII remain problematic. Overall WG have bottled it with their Tier VIII-X IFHE bodge.... it's much better balanced at VI and VII where light cruisers are lethal against destroyers, competitive against their own kind, OK against heavies and eek! run away! against BBs. It feels like someone's turned the clock back to a more balanced game. It lacks gimmicks and "I win if I do this" strategies, for sure, but I think that's not the same as being bad.

How much doublons would you need for all the swedish ships in Early access?
invicta2012 replied to western_18's topic in General Discussion
The £80 bundle. -
It was also capable of dealing with a Massa or Tirpitz in the recent 1 v 1 Ranked Sprint. I read about the Hipper's bad rep but I think it's a lot better than that.

European Random Bundles Drops For Doubloons
invicta2012 replied to Gnirf's topic in General Discussion
It makes sense if you plan on keeping the line, sure, but otherwise he's paying for a 20% discount on the Tier X Permacamo. And that's OK, if its what he wants, but it's not startling. Personally - being a bit bored of directive play and having other goals (leveling up some Italian and RN cruisers) I'm out of this one. -
Your eu tokendrop for the first 4 containers

Tier X, Tier IX Premium, Tier X CV. A pretty toxic combination. -
Your eu tokendrop for the first 4 containers
invicta2012 replied to Jvd2000's topic in General Discussion
Don't. It'll all be free in a few weeks. There's no Premium Ship to buy and enjoy playing, nothing much to collect, and the grasping meanness of WG has extended to not allowing Blyskawica owners to use it towards the Directives*. Get. Tae. Falkirk. -
I just meant in terms of what they did to the mechanics. Haven't got to all the new BB armour models yet!

It is a bit nuts. I am starting to feel like Mr. Creosote with all these ships. I'm sitting among half chewed Genovas and Londons and up pops WG: But sir! Have another one! It is just a waffer thin destroyer! -
I thought part of the IFHE rework was making CAs valuable because your bigger guns meant better pen and fire chance, whereas CLs had to choose? Or has it not turned out like that?
-
If you're out there and you have a machine gun CA, can I have one too? Sounds fun. :)

Ships I have IFHE on Krasny Krym (It'll be fine, it's tier V, everyone has dreadnought armour down there any way) De Grasse (That one can stay). Dunkerque (I had forgotten about this speculative choice. I do not think that more reliable citadels against cruisers is now worth -16% fire chance. *MUST CHANGE THIS*) Huang He (Oh, this ship *so* needed a nerf. Never mind). Graf Spee (Why? WHY? What was I thinking? Why did I think it would be nice to have more HE penetration than Musashi? in the words of Roxette, "I must have been drunk, but I'm sober now...) Nuevo De Julio (I only got this skipper to 10pts **last week**. Damn you WG, I want a discount. I could have just stuck to playing Fiji). Ah well. Thanks for the info, chaps/chapesses.

The French ones have plenty DPM..... and Icarus has a role, too: always useful to have plenty of torpedoes in Raptor/Killer Whale/Newport.

Interesting... they (accidentally ?) omitted the Russian/Soviet 130 mm guns from tables regarding the upcoming IFHE changes!
invicta2012 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Not that I've seen. I think Tier VI-VII ships definitely need it if they did prior to the change - they've been a bit nerfed, really , with the reduction to fire chance - above VIII it depends on the ship. -
It prints credits, mind. Just came out 100,000 in profit from a co-op game which was me and two teams of bots. (It was a draw).

Not sure how to pronounce this Soviet Commander's name

Gregor Brezsint-skekeiyevitch, judging by that video. I thought it was a made up name.... -
Update 0.9.2 – European Destroyers: Part 1
invicta2012 replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
I guess we shall see what it does... Overall I think that too much consideration has been given to class-on-class mechanics and more likely in-game issues (such as facing a Tier VIII BB in a Tier VI cruiser) have not been given adequate thought. I would also quite like to see them take an opportunity to buff the HE penetration on the large calibre guns of KM DDs like Gaede, Z-23 and Z-39 up to the 1/5 HE cruiser pen level. These are not outstanding ships, they could do with a bit of a buff. -
They've balanced it against Perth (12.8), Leander/Huang He (13.2) and Furutaka (13.9)... which is fair enough, but London feels a bit too clumsy and not really very stealthy to be working at those ranges. And if I want to play close in DD support, then any of the Leander types, or even Emerald, are a lot more powerful. I would like to see a range buff to match Exeter (14.3) so that the ship feels more modern and comfortable to play in the open water. Smoke duration could be reworked to balance.

The Tier IX is an Amagi hull with boosted speed, loadsa secondaries and 3 x 2 18 inch guns. That's the Georgia template, so we know it works at IX. (I realised that the IJN never used 15 inch guns, btw - could have sworn they did! Nay mind, though, let's follow the USN pattern...) BC line Tier V - Kongo (WW1 BC guise, more limited range than the current Kongo) Tier VI - Hiei - WW2 Fast Battleship with modernised AA, secondaries and 14" with improved range/traverse (equivalent to current Kongo) Tier VII - Kurama - Hybrid prototype; Kongo class belt armour, Amagi speed, Nagato guns Tier VIII - Amagi Tier IX - Generic Tier IX (see above) - let's call her Kashima Tier X - Number 13 class battlecruiser (I'd call her Mihara for the Godzilla memes...)

Royal Navy Cruisers, and their odd secondaries...
invicta2012 replied to The_White_Whale's topic in General Discussion
They do. Albemarle has got a Daring's worth down each side, although you wouldn't know by the way they perform. -
Does a Blyscawica captain fit on a euro DD (the new swede DDs?)

That's for the Orkan, isn't it?
