I've been giving it a go as part of my exploration of Tier VI CVs. Lots of comedy gold. One game in the least attractive carrier (Furious) ends up a thumping win, the next game in Ryujo fails on the first wave (which I have never seen before). The way this Op plays is truly random.

Well, that is a possible solution for the Graf. If the individual weapon did less damage, it could be made more accurate, and so reward better play rather than RNG.
-
Usually through class action lawsuits, which are difficult to organise in smaller product worlds with a lower chance of success (and that matters to the legal firms that usually take on these cases).
-
Individual consumers never sue commercial companies, even though they have a case. The companies just flout the law as long as they can until it becomes impossible to ignore and the EU gets fed up and hits them with a very big stick.

Certain CV drivers tell me they are a certain citadel on most German BBs.
-
But Japanese CVs are clearly too good and those AP bombs clearly are too strong compared to other CVs. It needs toning down a bit. They'll still be good, even after this change.

Indeed, but this does give providers the ability to vary the product from time to time. And if you don't like that, then you can ask for your money back. Just don't play the ship once it's been changed.

It does not worth investing into tech tree ships
invicta2012 replied to Ocsimano18's topic in General Discussion
That makes sense, but one of the things that becomes clear over time (and especially after high-end events like CW) is how powerful certain combinations of ships become, and that usually results in certain things being changed. Does a 5 degree change to ricochet check really make that much difference? -

If a ship becomes a must-have, the obvious best choice for a certain situation or mode, then the chances are it's OP. If it's a Premium, buy it, play it, love it, and enjoy the envy of people who wish they'd splashed the cash before it was withdrawn. If it's a Tech Tree ship, get it and play the heck of out it, before it gets nerfed. Then you can sell it and not feel aggrieved. Seems fine to me. -
Hill, N/A Monaghan, Sims, Kidd +50% Not sure that Kidd should get the buff - it's already pretty strong, has a heal and a larger health Pool than Benson but Monaghan and Sims certainly should - these are supposed to have better AA than their Tech Tree counterparts, they give things away in comparison (guns, torps, range). Atlanta could do with it too...

I think you're talking about Smolensk. Smolnesk is an island in the Hebrides. Smolensk the ship is quite annoying, though. Recent changes have made it slightly less annoying but it is still a little too strong.

"Super" as in above, before.

That's the point of supertesting....

Indeed. But then the Soviet Navy built the largest number of gun cruisers post 1950 of any navy in the World, and these were actual new builds, not the recycled hulls of Colbert, Tiger, De Zeven Provincien, etc, and it is fair that these are reflected in the game, along with the numerous design studies that accompanied that building process. Anyhoo. With regards to helicopters.... they wouldn't work at anything above low tiers, where they are anachronistic.

Breath attack, that's quite something. Presumably the Tier IV is called Smaug?
-
Nah, it's just like that. Mutsu is the same. Cross eyed gunnery.

I've just had a port clear out - it was much too full of hopeless Tier V Soviet cruisers - and this is what I still have Emden - evil German cyberman Smith - hello mister torpedo Konig Albert - Not at all OP Medea - stealth torping at Tier II is fun Caledon - it's a big destroyer! Enseigne Gabolde - jolly stealth torping French DD with a verandah Fusilier - still French, still stealth torping Vampire / Valkyrie - very solid hybrid DDs Wakeful - ludicrous pen on those 120mm guns. And I think these are still good and fun ships. You could add Tatra / Romulus and Knyaz Suvorov to that list, too.

what to buy for 1 million free XP ?
invicta2012 replied to HassenderZerhacker's topic in General Discussion
(they said Alaska, too, which is the obvious answer if you intend to play it PVP/ randoms. I'm not sure I do, so Agir is quite interesting because there is more brawling in PVE). -
I'm just glad you can turn this stuff off. If people want Warhammer ship combat, maybe this is the wrong game?
-
They never all hit. The planes drop their bombs across the aiming reticle (in a line, end to end), which is pretty much 1 and 1/3 rd times the length of a battleship and twice as wide. The reticle is oval, so dodging works quite effectively - even if I get my planes precisely lined up some bombs will still disperse away from the target ship, and that's before we get into their (quite limited) penetration capacity.

Examples using Arms Race mode.

My Worst Tech Tree List. What's Yours?
invicta2012 replied to VeteranGamer84's topic in General Discussion
Maybe the OP just doesn't like those ships? This isn't "thread to reverse engineer people's psychology on the basis of a few arbitrary dislikes..." -
My Worst Tech Tree List. What's Yours?
invicta2012 replied to VeteranGamer84's topic in General Discussion
He did ask about Tech Tree lines. The presence of an excellent ship at Tier X will not necessarily make up for a terrible gameplay experience while playing the line, especially if you don't have the resources to skip to high tiers. For me it's a) Soviet Light Cruisers. Loathe them. The best thing about the recent event was that I got the Tallinn, and that I never have to look at Shchors again. That Tier V-VII "world of squishy" that used to be light cruisers was agony. b) Pan-European destroyers. They start off very fun, I'm told the high tiers are good, but it sags badly in the middle. c) American Battleships. Slow. So very, very slow. Frankly, treacle is faster. d) Pan-Asian destroyers. Oddly, this is the only line I've got up to Tier IX. But it is a right muddle of ships and playstyles. German battleships would have been there, but I feel Ok with playing them now that they can actually shoot straight and don't have the aiming qualities of a fairground air rifle. -
The real problem with the Dockyard might surprise you
invicta2012 replied to Miragetank90's topic in Off-Topic
Well... you can't blame WG for the placement of the shipyard. That's where the Blohm and Voss shipyard actually is, and the size of ship they can get in that yard is *enormous* - it's where the H class Battleships were going to be built. It's just that - as you correctly point out - the actual dock is at a 45 degree angle to the waterway. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elbe_17 http://www.kbismarck.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=272 https://www.shutterstock.com/video/clip-22615189-voss-dock-elbe-17-hamburg (nice little video clip for you) -
What purchases have you enjoyed the most?

Royal Navy Premium CLs? Unless there's one in Azur Lane or some other cartoon, that isn't happening....
