for me the ranked battles worked well on the first evening. Reached rank 20 then with only 2 lost battles. Teamwork and communication was really good. Then I struggled a bit more to reach rank 19, then got to 18 and since then it's mostly lose a battle, win one, lose one... or even 2... and now I m dropping down because there are really too many people out there who dont listen, don't communicate and most of all, do really stupid things like sailing off alone, cruisers who go search the carrier instead of fighting or providing some AA cover for the BB's, DD's that dont cap anything, everyone doing their own thing instead of trying to focus together one one ship, sailing in straight lines while under attack (not only the BB's!), throwing away a sure win by attacking instead of hiding.... the list could go on for a while. Maybe it will work out after a while but if I didn't have a tier 7 ship to grind anyway, I'd probably not bother with it. It's just too frustrating at the moment
