From one extreme to the other... Reminds me of a certain Tier 8 German carrier going from 3 Torpedo bombers to just 3 regular bombers (before the AP bombs were added). Do WG understand what balancing at this stage should be? Minor tweaks, tbh this reminds me of RELIC's practices when it comes to balance in Company of Heroes 2, one minute a unit is lackluster so they buff it, every one uses it now cause it is cost efficient then next patch it gets cost increased and nerfed to worse than it was to start with. The typical sledgehammer approach to balancing a game.

While it needed a nerf I think WG kinda brought the hammer down a bit too hard on it, I was thinking having it at the 170-190m range as a half way point between BBs and CLs/CAs. Would have to double check what other T5 BBs have for dispersion but it seems a little too much?

Actually it's the un-Nerf'ed KGV with the wrong guns and a stupid lattice mast. Copy Pasta of the KGV because the guns are to crap for tier 8 apparently so the Nelson got shafted to a Free XP ship...

What I meant was that WG had no reason to drop the ship to tier 7 in the first place, as the reason they game was the guns were too small and couldn't compete. Then it gets released and it can take on anything as long as it doesn't get completely focused by cruisers HE penning all that 25mm armor that was Nerf'ed to place it at tier 7. I am agreeing with you that the guns are ridiculous at tier 7 and are even capable of the ship being a tier higher with no changes to the guns and still be strong, makes me wonder what the super-testers playing it, in the early stages when WG said it was tier 8 (not the magical made up Monarch), were thinking saying the guns were not good enough, so much so that it had to be dropped a tier?

Just like WG placing the KGV at tier 7 for incomprehensible reasons. It put me off playing the line above tier 6, and actually was more interested in the Pan Asian DDs in the build up to the RN BB release date. Despite being British myself!

It's high risk all right, just no reward in compensation.

There is something wrong with the Ship... it should be tier 8 and have the 25mm sections replaced with the correct 32mm armor.

The Duca is a really good ship though, it has better suitability than the Huang He due to spaced armor and the maneuverability to it's advantage tbh. The thing is you have to change your play style when facing tier 8's, play a support role trying to get on an enemies flank while he is dealing with someone else, the Duca is good at this, probably where the Huang He fails as it has shorter range and much worse maneuverability despite the great concealment just means that when spotted by either DD or CV you cannot get away no matter what you do.

I agree, I watched the steam too, looks like my favorite nation is gonna be the Italians as I love my Duca D'Aosta as well and this BB not only looks nice but handles really well.

The main reason for me to go up the Pain Asian DD line when it comes out has gotta be the tier 7 looks like it will be one hell of a ship.

Fine my bad, I mainly think of it as a post war thing as that is what the Belfast is currently like IRL and that was a post war modernization. Regardless the Monarch is still a complete last minute hash together, just to release the line early because some super testers probably complained that they couldn't over match anything at tier 8 so would rather be over matched themselves by dropping it to tier 7 but that's another matter. Well it was clearly rushed as we got a line of HE spamming BBs.

But it was the reason WG gave that the KGV was dropped from tier 8 to 7 though, and then invented the abomination that now sits at tier 8.

For a second there I thought it was going to be the one preserved in Sydney Harbor (Which I visited in 1999), which is a Daring class, but then I saw 1917 and realized it wasn't the same ship. Would buy the preserved one, probably not this one unless the stats look interesting.

Actually WG used the 'calibre progression' argument to nerf the KGV down to tier 7 by removing a few thousand tonnes of it's great armor scheme to make it squishy completely unlike the real thing... then they announce the Pan Asian DDs which goes from 139mm > 120mm from tier 6 to 7. So it clearly wasn't the reason... maybe they wanted to sell more T7 RN BB premiums, cause 2 was clearly not enough.

Well after my first T10 got me the useless damage control upgrade, I unlocked a new T10 which got me... 100 of the Heal signal flags... I sold 200 of the things just to buy the T10 when it was discounted... my luck sucks...

Sorry to say but that crown is taken by the Monarch... with 1930's aircraft facilities and 1950's masts cause WG made it up by mixing several ships. Unlike half of the Gneisenau refit, sure the secondaries and AA are made up but at least the guns for the refit were actually built but then diverted to the Atlantic wall as shore batteries instead.

Better than Radar + Def AA BBs...

There is nothing wrong with the KGV's guns the only downside is how squishy it is in the game which would make the real KGV cry from how unrepresentative it is depicted.

My 1 Tier 10 got me the useless damage control party upgrade... That is also what my last normal super container got me... RNGesus hates me!!!!

I think the Blue Dragon flag is what was called just Dragon flag, While the background is yellow the dragon on it is blue.

While I don't have the Akizuki I do have the same guns on the Harekaze, and as I only have a 10 point captain atm I am mainly using AP in all shooting situation even did more damage to a USS Black than he did back to me in a duel. So for the first 10 points I went PT, LS, SE and CE. I think a similar first 10 points would work on the Akizuki (maybe PM instead of PT), but you must use AP and only at the lightly armored parts of ships when they are broadside. The next skill has to be IFHE so you can deal with any angled targets raw damage is probably better than fire chance as you might not always be able to keep up the shooting long enough so set one.

Trying to push their made up ship the Monarch by making the reward a camo for it... still won't play that abomination regardless.

Do find it odd how 2 ships with the exact same hydrodynamic profile have such different turning circles, WG defies PHYSICS!

Solution is move KGV to tier 8 (give it it's proper armor and AA) and put Nelson back at tier 7 and refund everyone's free xp.
