Don't know where you got the Idea that the guns were accurate for a BB of tier 3, cause I had the shells from one turret miss a broadside BB at 6km one landed in front of the bow, the other behind the stern... so no they are absolutely crooked, the secondaries are more reliable for doing damage if you can get close enough to use them.
-
Yep thought of this as well like others have said Aiming Systems Mod 0 would not only somewhat fix the main guns but would put the secondaries to a level where they are a key part of the ship which they are atm, but just so short range that they are unusable unless on any small tier 2 map.

The "Giulio Cesare" is in "Premium" shop!

Today will be the last day as the daily win crate ends, I think, unless they put up more missions in it for the CCCP camo. -

Well you will still eat normal pens through the bow just no citadels with the 85mm internal bow, wonder how much you would need to take to saturate the section? Regardless better to dodge and get into stealth than tank. -
Best spawn location in the game! (almost no sarcazm there)
Chaos_Umbra replied to wilkatis_LV's topic in General Discussion
Had the same spawn in the T9 German BB I was torpedoed several times trying to get to the base by a shadowing Fletcher and carrier, your lucky there that the game was domination mine was standard battle so there was no cap to delay the enemy DD. I would not go afk cause rather than loosing 47k credits with a win I would loose like 150k credits win or loose. -
I thought IRL arguments went out the window with the RN ships with magical heal, flamethrowers and stealth technology. Well it is only test stats, as long as the penetration and trajectory of the AP at 10km isn't too badly effected it should still perform it's job, though with the lower damage and the higher tier the reload might need a tiny bit taken off less than 0.5s. Well see after further adjustments are made.

Depends what you are shooting at bear in mind this ship has 2km better concealment than the D'Aosta which means you can get it under 9km, so your targets should be destroyers and broadside cruisers not HE shelling BBs, remember gun range can be a disadvantage when trying to disengage (I have no problem with 16.2km on the Zao). If the torps are too slow just pick torpedo acceleration skill you don't need a 3km stealth fire window. Bit of a Shame that the same guns will have a lower AP damage and 90m/s lower shell speed, wonder what the reason for it was? Does anyone know what the current consumable loadout is for the ship?
-
So hyped for this, like the D'Aosta but trading the speed a little for better concealment (Based on the ST leaks), think it's a good trade as long as the other handling characteristics are the same then it will be a must buy. Love wreaking cruisers at under 10km with the laser AP and DD hunting and the extra concealment will only make it easier. TBH I would have thought the Tier 7 Italian Cruiser would be the Zara, unless they are saving that for the Tech Tree.
-
Yeah IFHE is what I will get next for that exact reason, just takes awhile grinding the captain as I am not focused on it and am grinding other lines. Having said that, you can still target the superstructure of Bow on DDs and get some HE damage (as the armor is thinner there), though is tricky, but the shell speed helps with the difficult targeting.

First Game in it T7 MM, top of the tier 5's on my team, can reliably punish Broadsides and can now mount the aiming systems mod which compensates a bit for the hammer nerf gets it down to 211m. Struggles against T7 Armour but is a good fire starter. Very maneuverable, but takes a tonne of damage if caught broadside. Would run a speed flag just to keep up with the faster T7 BBs. Wasn't the best match but could see the potential even with only a 6 point captain. -
Stalingrad confirmed tier 10 cruiser, lets review what we know
Chaos_Umbra replied to Affeks's topic in General Discussion
I would say that is only the case for the RN BBs, as the cruisers are very situational and can just be 1 shot by any BB that looks their way. As for the BBs the only reason they are OP is the stupid HE damage and fire chance which not only make them annoying opponents but also rather dull to play, I am at the QE atm and it is my favorite so far just because the AP is just as reliable as the HE so I tend to stick with it rather than HE spamming in the lower tiers. If they fix this (and put the KGV back at tier 8) then the BBs would probably be no longer as OP as you say. TBH I think they are a disgrace and a rush job, at least the Cruisers have some fun game-play when you are not 1 shot.- 128 replies

The "Giulio Cesare" is in "Premium" shop!
Chaos_Umbra replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Just unlocked the Oct Rev last night and was getting 13k salvos on a Colorado and Genisanau, while taking little in return a very hardy ship when angled. But the Giulio is probably more of a flanking BB using speed and maneuverability rather than tanking so they probably both have their strong points, so can't really do a direct comparison due to different roles. -
I only have a 11 point captain in mine and I have no trouble dealing with DDs same or higher tier as long as they are isolated, even yesterday I soloed a Z-23 at the start easily winning the cap, and even once did more than my fair share against a full HP USS Black while I was only on half HP (he did win but I took out over half his HP). This is without IFHE with the Akizuki guns and almost solely using AP as CE is a must for a first T4 Skill. Mainly use it or contesting caps and killing DDs, while still being able to torp larger targets. Current build; PM LS SE CE

It's based on the D'Aosta with lower speed but 25% more fire power, the only thing that hinders the D'Aosta is the concealment so this is a good trade off. As long as the rudder is similar then it should be great.

For me it is the first of the RN BBs that they actually did a good job with (except the lack of WW1 Stock hull) in the fact that most of the time it is still best to shoot AP (for me anyway). Yes it is worse than the Warspite in most things except AA, HE shells and gun range, but at least it isn't a cancerous HE sling-er like the rest of them...

the british BB need balance.....TRUE....
Chaos_Umbra replied to GTX10086's topic in General Discussion
If you ignore the fact that it was one of the best armored BBs ever built second to the Yamato... So do you also complain about that the Scharnhorst should be tier 4 because it only has 11" guns? The advantage of the lower caliber is the higher DPM at the expense of Alpha strike potential, this can be seen in cruisers too if you are in an Atlanta at point blank to any other cruiser you will wreck them with constant citadels cause your dpm is so much higher, in contrast a lets say Pensacola could potentially 1 shot it in return. So no it is not a reason to be at tier 7 cause the guns are only 14". Did anyone complain about the Bismark having the smallest guns at tier 8 when it came out... I think there would have been a lot of rage if it was dropped to tier 7 and another made up ship stuck at tier 8 and have all the 32mm of armor replaced with 25mm, plus half the AA removed and secondaries range reduced. -
Had this the other day but avoided it... in my case I was in my Warspite leading a charge into a cap dodging torps from the enemy Aoba in front and the allied Duca D'Aosta from behind, all while brawling with an enemy Arizona in the cap... Thank god for the tight turning circle on the Warspite, but annoying never the less some people never learn...

the british BB need balance.....TRUE....
Chaos_Umbra replied to GTX10086's topic in General Discussion
Maybe it's OP cause it was initially meant to be tier 8. But according to testing the guns were too poor so it was dropped a tier... I know it make absolutely no sense... -
Well lets wait for the Pain Asian line first and see how the 3 RN DDs there compare... tbh they will be the only reason to play the line unless you want another US DD.

Giulio Cesare's dispersion nerf
Chaos_Umbra replied to ItalianSupremacy's topic in General Discussion
True but like you said they Sledgehammer nerfed the dispersion and to compensate had to massively buff the Sigma, though I still don't get what WG mean with it being the most accurate for it's tier with this change, the Kongo has a similar dispersion but at 4km further away, making it more accurate at the GC's max range. -
The sigma was never the issue it was the max dispersion was too tight, which made it super accurate, now it has worse accuracy than a Fuso with shorter range. The sigma is only an issue cause WG was stupid and added 90m to the dispersion.

Giulio Cesare's dispersion nerf
Chaos_Umbra replied to ItalianSupremacy's topic in General Discussion
The thing is the ship is actually very small like 6m longer than a Cleveland hence the low concealment, I think a better fix would be normalizing the CE commander skill so that BBs don't get a bigger bonus than Cruisers, then even if the ships standard concealment are similar the BB won't become stealthier with the same commander skills. Dispersion needs to be somewhere in the middle or the Sigma will have to change, I'm more for the more unique approach with the poor Sigma but tighter grouping, and the Fire chance needs to drop a little on par with other BBs not RN ones. -
Fires get started as long as the HE shell hits the ship, you can have endless shatters with the Harekaze and you will still set fires if you shoot enough. The shell will do no damage when it shatters but it can still set a fire.

I think the initial idea was on the right track having poor sigma and better dispersion than other BBs, only problem was that the dispersion was even better than an Omaha. Then they nerf it to Fuso levels but at less range and worse sigma making it now the least accurate ship at tier 5. It needed the dispersion somewhere in the middle 170-190m seems reasonable, rather than being stupid WG should have incrementally increase it while testing to find a good compromise, but that take more that 2 brain cells to figure out it seems.

Yeah, it needed a compromise between BB and CL/CA accuracy personally I think around 170-190m, cause atm it turned from the most accurate to the least accurate with one of the smallest guns and longest reload.
