A BB only player I presume, it's not like all cruisers run the risk of being 1 shot by a BB, sure that's just about as fun and engaging as being set on fire which over 5 mins of it happening might eventually sink you...

The issue with the ship is the gimmick'd Ammunition, SAP, it is basically the worst of AP combined with the worst of HE to make an ammo type that is able to blap DDs whilst at the same time being completely mitigated by aggressive angling, the reason the tier 10 is regarded as decent compared to the rest is that the SAP isn't so gimped, as in it has the best auto-bounce angles the actual DPM is very similar to most HE fired from other T10 cruisers without the fires and damaging modules. The ship is the only one in the line above tier 5 than actually has a decent armour scheme and thus can tank a fair bit, and it also has a decent top speed though, the French still have the crown, it has a tight turning circle that breaks physics (for some reason WG thought that would be an advantage) which just means it bleeds more speed in turns. The base rudder shift is well below average thus making dodging shells harder unless you run double rudder mod, which then means your out spotted by Kremlins (yay for the supper stealthy balanced BB...). The smoke gimmick is both good and bad, the consumable is strong, but limited cause stock you get 1 of them... and you give up all cruiser utility tools, and due to the few charges you tend to want to hold onto them for when you really need them so you end up having a cruiser than essentially only has repair, spotter plane and heal... Also it seems the entire line was balanced around you having the special captain and if your not using him you have a stock ship experience. Line needs redoing cause as they are they are just unfun to play... a chore actually...

Why would you even consider regrinding a line that doesn't function until tier 8+... are you a masochist?

Well don't god damn sail broadside, even in a BB it is just asking for you to be citadel'd!!! So wait you think the Stalingrad is weak because if you royally up your positioning you get punished for it? If you don't want to be citadel'd play a DD cause they don't have one there problem solved for you... This is why the player base at tier 10 is so bad and why WG thinks Stalingrad is perfectly balanced...

We all know it will be 50mm deck and 50mm lower bow with a mid sized citadel, cause the tier 9 and 10 are based off the Stalingrad...

Your wrong SAP actually has a higher Alpha than the Italian AP shells, in other words there is no reason to even use the AP unless you are going to be able to citadel what you are shooting at... The long reload times is due to WG balancing by numbers, they tried to keep the theoretical SAP DPM to be in line with the Theoretical HE DPM of other heavy cruisers, but this ignores the fact that HE is still more reliable at dealing damage and HE also can damage modules and set fires, so the true HE DPM of other cruisers is still higher. The concept was flawed from the start and doesn't match the shell ballistics either, cause SAP would work best with USN shell arcs where the high penetration of the SAP rains down near vertical on BBs decks, where as atm they are railguns so you have to aim at the upper belt or bow to do damage while avoiding the main belt and at max range the plunging fire still doesn't have the angle to not bounce.

If they wanted us to play the mid tiers they would have added a special mission section where for example by playing a lot of games in the Leander you get the Ajax permanent camouflage for said ship or other such things for the ship you played like a Legendary Upgrade 'one that is actually balanced'. RB is probably my most hated addition from last year, though there was so much that I hated that it is hard to choose, much easier to work out what I actually liked, which is a sad thing for the future of the game...

You seem to be on another planet to the rest of us... DM has the disadvantage of poor ballistics, sure it is a strong ship, but hitting DDs beyond 9km it starts to struggle, unlike Russian Cruisers with their Laser shells. Montana is reliable, but with the massive influx of 457mm gunned BBs it is a shadow of what it once was, and if the IFHE changes go ahead it will be in an even worse state as cruiser HE will pen the 38mm deck while it's guns will no longer over-match most T10 cruiser decks and side plating. These new Soviet ships have none of the disadvantages and all of the advantages possible...

Even if you don't mind about the massive influx of Paper ships, surely you must agree that with their current stats they are completely OP and having unbalanced ships is never good for the game...

The main issue with the Italian SAP is that no matter what it will always be inferior to HE in terms of reliably doing damage and at the same time your SAP DPM is only inline with other cruisers HE DPM which means unless your are shooting all game long you will always have a harder time matching your damage in other cruisers and as a knock on effect of the High SAP Alpha being balanced against the low Alpha HE it means the Italian's AP DPM is the worst off all cruisers, so the ships have even less of a reason to switch ammo than even a Worcester. In fact the Yamato has a Higher AP DPM... Basically SAP is a gimmick that at the end of the day is just a liability to the entire line without including the other limitations added to the ships on top of it...

Can we have a new game mode added then called 'Balanced Random Battles' which is identical to Random Battles except that there are no RU ships allowed. With that the game will be fairly balanced when these ships go live...

Interesting how when the Italian Cruisers and RN CAs were announced that the ships required some buffs across the board (and in the Italians case 80% of the line still sucks), and as soon as it is an RU line the stats are so completely broken that all the ships need massive nerfs across the board just to bring them down to being Strong let alone above average...

Basically if you want SAP that is reliable free XP to the tier 10 otherwise your gonna have to keep relying on the enemy sailing broadside to do any damage...

BTW with all these additions there will be 33 Soviet Cruisers in the game, second place goes to the US with 29, but the US have 2 ships that are just copies and the Soviets only 1. On another note the IJN have 25, but 7 of them are Myokos, 3 are Atagos, and Azuma and Yoshino are almost the same ship...

Well it was launched as HMS Eagle and other than the hull it was mostly entirely redesigned... As far as I know the Neptune and Minotaur are basically entirely fiction unless the info for the ships was basically an order was put out to design something with so and so size gun with this displacement...

Well I was being kind to WG by not mentioning all that... you can add to that list terrible rudder shift and the largest citadels in the game with the least protection (except the tier 10 which is the only reasonable ship in the entire line bar the tier 1...).

Not quite right there, the Audacious is the original plans for the ship it was never finished in that configuration and was launched under a different name. IJN Tier 4 BB and tier 8 BBs are also both paper ships, though Amagi's hull was started and converted into a CV (I think). Mind you another line with far too much paper is the RN BB line... with the abomination that is the Monarch and the Conqueror (I'll let Lion slide as the hull was laid down and completed as Vanguard).

If WG actually wanted us to believe the rubbish about the new heavy cruisers having poor reload they would have longer reloads than all the Italian cruisers... from what I see the Italian cruiser reloads are at least 1.6 times longer...

I think this is the only good news announced recently that I actually like rather than the RU Cruiser Show...

More than half the cruisers in the world were built by the Glorious Soviet Union the only reason you don't know about them Komrade is that they were ultra top Sekrit and only posted in Siberia

0 Cause I hated the entire idea, if I want to play my lower tier ships like; Leander, Fiji, Helena, Cleveland, Jervis, Lightning, Mogami, Chapayev, Richeleau, Alsace, Lyon, Normandie, Jutland, etc. I will just go and play them without needing to re-buy or re-research them...

To be fair to him he was given an impossible task to command a fleet entirely crewed by the Sub 45% WR crowd from WoWs...

I asked this on the official stream before the patch came out and the answer I got was that the cammos will be added into the armoury after, but for what currency I don't know.
