DPM difference between Fiji and Edinburgh

I did that by mistake once, and somehow managed to live for 10 mins while within 12km of 3 T9 BBs, at the end I was like 4km from them before they killed me, Edinburgh is rather survivable... unlike the Neptune and Albermarle... Which seem to spontaneously explode on sight, I would even say it takes less damage than a Drake which just seems to eat citadels and pens...

    UK Battleships

Yeah I seem to get on well with it, well it seems to be more accurate then the tech tree ships at least, cause it doesn't have the Stupid HE that needs balancing by making the gunner cross-eyed...

    UK Battleships

Lion is the least accurate ship I have had the miss fortune to play, TBH the RN BBs are probably the least fun line to play in the game due to the bad design concept HE Spamming. To balance the broken HE they made them incredibly inaccurate, which in turn means that shooting AP at broadsides tends to net you less damage than if you just fired HE, thus giving you even less reason to use AP. Only time I used the Lion AP was at sub 2.4km range cause that close you can't miss, unlike at 6km where you can completely bracket a broadside Worcester and deal 0 hits with shells going low and high, left and right of the target in the same salvo... The only decent RN BBs are Warspite, Hood, Vanguard and Thunderer, cause they have this thing called accuracy which means you can use the AP as you main ammunition type most of the time...

    Paper ships design flaws

Didn't you know Kremlin uses special Soviet TARDIS tech so it is much bigger internally than you would otherwise expect

    ST - armor-piercing rockets

Except it was a French BB that was announced...
  6. We already have the Ajax camouflage for the Leander. you might want to update your post on 'Some interesting info around the world' thread, It has 2x3 406mm guns not 2x4 406mm.

    ST - armor-piercing rockets

It's not like the Current HE Rockets can't do 15k damage to Cruisers in 1 Attack Run... AP rockets will just 1 shot them...
  8. Yep your Div citadel'd me good... surprised I lived that long TBH... Well at least I'm now only 92xp off the Drake so I won't have to suffer no more

    Cheshire good bad or indifferent?

Not that it will have much effect anyway seeing as all AA skills and Def AA are basically worthless...

    Cheshire good bad or indifferent?

Like you really want to use the secondaries, what I mean is basically the poor citadel design, the massive step in it basically invalidates any attempt of angling, dodging is your only option... the poor mobility hinders this option too...

    Cheshire good bad or indifferent?

Then just research the Drake for free... no need to spend money on basically a bad ship copied with different guns placed on it. On the Albemarle myself and I have not too much issue with the guns the main issue is the hull is just bad, and what does the Cheshire have that is identical... the hull.
  12. With the changes Tier 5-7 CL get hit hard cause they have to fight BBs such as Fuso and Izmail with their almost nonexistant superstructure (New Mexico is also in this bracket cause most of the super structure will be 26mm), so without IFHE you are basically unable to damage a lot of those mid tier BBs simply due to the lack of penable superstructure, on top of that without IFHE you are unable to pen a lot of top tier cruisers, so for these tiers IFHE is even more mandatory than ever before, just your fire chance also gets obliterated. For Tier 8+ it then is actually an option to not go for it as most high tier BBs have large superstructures you can damage (except Izumo, that thing gets a massive buff) and you don't need it for penetrating cruisers either, so basically if you don't want fire chance and want to pen BB bow and stern + US BB Decks take IFHE, if you want to be able to set fires you can manage without it. Will say that the improved armour on cruisers at tier 10 is basically pointless nowadays as the majority of BBs now overmatch it, would have been a good increase in survive-ability if it was added 2 years ago...
  13. The problem specifically for the Albemarle is the stepped citadel, cause the upper case mate is only 25mm so it is entirely overmatched, so unless they hit the main belt your gonna be citadel'd 100%, if that side armour was 30mm like the deck (this isn't unreasonable as the Amalfi has 30mm case mate) then you will be able to angle and bounce all but Republique and 457mm+ guns, you will still be overmatched from the front but at least if you angle correctly you not a 100% citadel target, cause atm I think the Cleveland and Edinburgh are better at tanking BBs in open water... Duplicating the change on the Goliath would also help as that also has the stepped citadel (unlike the Drake), for the Goliath I would not match the 40mm deck but set the case mate to 32mm so that Yamato still has it's overmatch trait going for it. Means the ships are still prone to bow in citadels but now you will be rewarded for angling correctly.

Is there a link to see the european line of DDs?

WG said their intention was to add other DD lines to the Pan Europe Tree in the future, but they will start off with nations that can field an entire line, so Greece will be much further down the line unless they release a Premium ship or 2 for them.
  15. It's not only the poor armour on the ship it also handles like a brick and for me anyway has a lower damage potential than the Surrey. My average damage in the Surrey is around where the Albemarle has it's max damage in a game, and the main issue is that while the Surrey also has a stepped citadel all the lower sections of it are basically below the water meaning there is less citadel to hit, where as the Albemarle has a massive raised one that is surrounded by overmatchable armour, you either bounce the shells on the heck or on the citadel belt otherwise it is a guaranteed citadel. Bow in obviously gets overmatched and citadel'd and so does broadside (obviously too), and if you angle they overmatch the 25mm side plating above the lower citadel level and straight into a nice vertical 105mm citadel plate at just the perfect angle for all BBs to pen. There are 3 options WG could do to actually allow the ship to angle; 1. Increase the upper belt to 30mm like the deck then it will just be 457mm+ that overmatch the ship when angled. 2. Remove the step in the citadel, just make the raised level an auxiliary room, then you will just get pens rather than citadel'd. 3. Raise the entire citadel to the same level that the stepped bit is, sure you are an even bigger target broadside and bow on, but at least if you angle correctly you will actually be rewarded for it. Only other issue I found is the guns are rather inaccurate compared to the tier 7, had 37% hit ratio in the Surrey and a 34% in the Albemarle, would explain why my average damage in the Surrey is about my max damage in the Albemarle... The Goliath could do with the same changes to the citadel, though maybe just 32mm side armour rather than matching the 40mm that the deck has, so Yamato still has it's overmatch going for it.

Rename the tier 8 British Heavy Cruiser

    HMS Abomination...
  17. Chaos_Umbra

    soooo.... RN "Heavy" cruisers

TBH the RN didn't really build any heavy cruisers after the late 1920's so it was kinda expected for there to be a few paper ships, at least the Surrey was ordered and Drake designed. No clue on the Albermile and Goliath.

Mid tier RN CAs are unplayable - help!

Surrey doesn't seem weak to me, I much prefer it to the Devonshire mainly due to the spotting aircraft that makes the stock grind so much easier but also allows you to stay effective even when you've taken a beating and the enemy team is camping back. Then you also have the amazing 9.7km concealment that out spots the Fiji and the 12.5 second reload gives a decent DPM increase.

Getting overrun, or overrunning the other team....

Its the ones with less than 45% WR and well over 7k battles that you really have to worry about, less than 500 just means they are new. With 7k games you should have at least learn't how to not suck so badly... The most futile thing is to keep repeating the same thing over and over and over again and expecting something different to happen, and in this game blaming everyone around you...
  20. Chaos_Umbra

The mistakes of RN CAs in game.

I much prefer the Colour scheme on the London that you Painted on @Trainspite I was never a fan of Green ship camos...

    Alsace is just BAD...

Dunno what ship your playing I really enjoyed the Alsace, much better than the POS that is the Lion, if you think Alsace is inaccurate then you should try the Lion that misses broadsides at 6km with the shells scattering all around the targeted ship...

Inertia Fuse Skill. Yay or Nay?

I have it on Duca and I would recommend it cause as it is it is a terrible fire starter anyway and TBH you want to use the AP whenever possible as that is it's strong point along with speed and manouverability.
  23. Chaos_Umbra

Getting overrun, or overrunning the other team....

What I've found lately is that all the top tier ships camp in the back while the bottom tier ships win the game, for example tonight the 1 & 2 spots on the team were to a Mogami and me in the Hipper in a tier 10 game, the bottom 3 ships all Tier 10, with under a quarter the xp I got... basically the higher the tier the worse the players...
  24. Chaos_Umbra

    ST, Soviet cruisers

Well at least they don't seem too much above the water line atm... that will probably be buffed in testing cause the nasty BBs shells will just overmatch the upper part to easily...
