Yeah but the other 3 are real ships that existed and were built so I have more interest in playing them, plus I find T10 game play awful and totally unfun. Well basically the entire RU BB line is full of abominations that never existed, the difference with the Monarch is that it is taking the slot that the KGV should have had as the class was built around the same time as the Bismarck and in the initial layout for the tech tree the KGV was at tier 8, but the really bad players that think overmatch is everything when it comes to BBs (Yep Scharnhorst and Bourgone are such bad ships...) and thus it was dropped a tier and the Nelson was released a a Free XP ship not the Tech Tree tier 7. So basically it is a Paper ship that is solely there because the super testers could not manage to deal with a BB with no overmatch at tier 8 (It is obviously true that overmatch is everything cause the Odin keeps receiving nerfs cause it is so bad...).

That's why I said I can't compare cause I didn't play it, in fact it is the only ship in the game I entirely skipped, plus I found the RN BB line the least fun in the entire game to play. If you want a fun RN BB line you need Money and Coal to play it; Warspite, Hood, Vanguard and Thunderer...

Odd that the Lion has the same accuracy cause I had that thing miss broadsides at under 6km, I had it scatter around a Worcester at 6km with no shells hitting it, where as with the Conqueror I can reasonably hit broadsides up to at least 12km+ Monarch I skipped cause I refuse to play that abomination that is in the tier slot that the KGV class should have been in so I wouldn't know if the AP is better, I just hate that ship's existence...
-
Totally not advisable in randoms, as the ship is great at giving really close support to DDs around the caps, and what are Smoke screens known for being... Torpedo Magnets, so rather than using a situational consumable, it is far better to use one that will be useful every time you deploy a smoke screen.
-
Well the reason the accuracy on the line is so bad is to balance out the completely broken HE, imagine if the line had USN levels of accuracy every HE salvo will have 80% of the shells hit (not 10%), and as a side effect of this AP is made even less rewarding as you can't actively aim at citadels unless at point blank cause you are basically praying that 2 shells even hit the target which in turn makes it on the whole better to shoot HE cause unless it hits the main belt it will always do decent damage unlike the AP. The only good AP in the line are QE and Conqueror. QE because the guns have overmatch and the Conqueror because it actually has okay'ish accuracy thus you can hit broadside targets in the vicinity of the citadel reasonably reliably.

I assume the peak at tier 8 is a Derpitz? Either that or he was one of the guys that got to skip to Bismarck for free...

Oops... I meant Leningrad, damn Soviets renaming cities after Comunist leaders -
It's worse when it is someone with 12k games sailing around with those kind of stats, cause it simply means they don't want to learn how to play better and will always be a liability. At least this player is clearly new with only 300 odd games, obviously it is completely stupid to just jump straight into tier 9 without actually grinding your way up there as you will just be a liability and probably not enjoy the experience as you will just be blapped every game or do basically no damage. Nothing WG can do about this as the Marketing Department makes a lot of cash on players wanting to skip to the big guns despite the sudden experience of High tier game-play probably making them loose enjoyment and eventually stop playing. WG wallet > Retaining players

Actually the player numbers seem to be fairly stable across most of the servers some even with a bit of growth, except for the RU server which has had it's player numbers Decimated and now the EU has the most players. This is kinda understandable cause in Europe there is going to be a greater interest in a Warships game simply cause a lot of the Nations had reasonable Naval forces, whereas Russian (Soviet Union) barely played much of a role other than gun batteries shelling the Germans at Stalingrad with only a few DDs assisting the RN with the Arctic Convoys. In fact the only modern Naval battle that the Russians are famous for is the Battle of Tsushima which was a catastrophic defeat and a landslide victory for the Japanese which basically cemented them as the major Naval power in the Pacific until part way threw WW2. Hence why the player numbers on RU have dropped off so fast, and any attempts to lure Russian players back with some of Stalin's wonder projects isn't going to do much as none of the ships have any history behind them to grab the initial interest to pick up the game again. They would be better of just trying to get more growth on the other servers. -
That was never WG's real intent it was always to get Free Xp and Credits out of the system while making some extra cash from the idiots that would convert Xp into Free Xp to do it. They only said that making the lower tiers more popular to misdirect attention from the actual reasons. If they wanted to make players play mid tiers they would not have made the requirement only win a game in coop in each ship from tier 5, and the rewards would not have been more T10 ships...

Interesting, but from what I see, what IFHE gives you in more consistent secondaries is nowhere near being worth sinking 4 points into it... 5k more raw damage in exchange for 5k Fire damage, makes little difference tbh.
-
It's not only the fact that just angling completely removes the citadel weakness, but that the citadel armour is the thickest in the game so unless you are point blank you won't citadel it even if they are broadsiding...
-
But the Warspite charged into a Fjord and along with some other DDs absolutely murdered a load of German DDs that they trapped in there, much more apt for ruling the Fjords than the Tirpitz that just hid in there getting bombed all the time...

I don't like playing T10 games, mainly cause most of the players that solely play tier 10 are the absolute worst players in the game making every match a stomp, just depends whether your on the team with the most idiots or not on whether your on the winning team or not, if you have to carry 11 players compared to the enemies best player only having to carry 8 of their 'team' mates... Have much more fun in the Mid tiers...
-
I have it on a lot of ships that used to have AA skills on them as the REEEWORK made them all basically useless, so I have it on Cruisers a lot, actually can be better that PT on some long range Cruisers like Azuma and Yoshino.

Kremlin has quite a long nose TBH, and every BBs Bow and Stern is at most 32mm so perfectly penable with IFHE so there is a benefit, but you basically have to weigh up the pros and cons, sure IFHE murders your fire chance, but setting fires is pure RNG, where as shell damage is not.
-
More like whenever their paint gets scratched, they still need to keep spamming HE from max range from the 1 line...
-
That's just superstructure hits...
-
It also failed in differentiating CAs from CLs in terms of tankiness as at tier 10 most BBs nowadays overmatch 30mm anyway so no change in survavability on the whole either...
-
No it buffed all the BBs by halving the fire chance of all CLs... like BBs needed another buff...

That's incorrect, before the Daring only had 18mm pen base and with IFHE it gave you 22mm of pen 18*1.3=23.4 -> 23 -1 = 22mm Now the Daring has 19mm base and with IFHE 23mm of pen. 19*1.25 = 23.75 = 23mm Before you needed it to cross the 19mm threashold on all T8+ DD hulls and BB superstructures, now the only thing it crosses is Gearing side armour... not that much of an important value for loosing half your firechance and costing 4 captian poins...
-
Just imagine having to fight an Izumo in it... lots of superstructure to pen there... wait there isn't...
-
The only reason you took it before was cause you couldn't damage DD hulls or BB superstructures with HE, with the Change you no longer need it as it doesn't really give you any important armour thresholds.

[PÖLL] Do you think 2M FXP is a reasonable price for (T10) ships.
Chaos_Umbra replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Was thinking it would logically be around 1.2 million considering they don't have premium economy, but budgeted for 1.5 million being the cost cause it's WG and of course going from tier 9 to 10 means a 50% increase in cost... well they definitely out did themselves with the 100% increase in cost...
