We didn't know that WG would double the price to go from T9 with full premium economy to a T10 without Premium economy. Unfortunately WG really wanted to Inflate the prices that much 1.5 million would also still be on the expensive side... -
I can't really compare to what it is like now cause the ship has been massively buffed since I endured it, back then the guns had unreliable pen, and the hull was entirely coated in 32mm armour. So surely it can't be too bad to play now...

Just a question, would the Unique Module Mission still be grind-able after the Moskva has changed to a Coal Ship or do I have to complete the mission before the change. Just checking encase the new Moskva is counted as a different ship and thus making the mission un-complete able? -

If the Smaland wasn't worth 2 Million Free XP (I only got it cause I had 1 Million extra so I could throw 2 Million away) then this thing is definitely not worth it... -
or you don't need Radar to deal with DDs cause Rocket planes...

Lightning is better in a gun fight due to the 360 turrets, Cossack needs to give a lot of broadside to get all guns off. The Cossack only has 1 torp launcher so it loses it's torpedo Alpha strike. Not found the 8km torps much of a limitation cause generally you want to be that close anyway to have a hope of landing them with all the Hydro and torp spotting upgrades and skills nowadays, this is why I run the F3's on the Yugumo, cause all the other torps are just dodged far too easily.

Except that Disappeared for like 8 months and was then suddenly released and no one was sure if the videos from the last iteration were applicable or not cause it had been so long since it was previously featured (I guess the CCs hadn't had access to the ship for the same amount of time otherwise there would have been an update on the reviews much closer to release) we've had a few bad ships released like this in the last year, for example Yahagi and Viribus Unitis which go though multiple versions which none of the CCs find are quite in the spot they need then disappeared for over half a year then quietly get released and the CC then put out a review for them in the days after release to make sure they have a review for it in it's current state. Seems to be a WG thing if a ship takes too long to try and get in a decent state (especially if it seems sub par) they will put it to one side for half a year at least so everyone forgets then just release it in an almost unfinished state anyway cause they don't want to waste any more resources on it.

If the Trento is so much stronger why is my Duca WR twice that of my Trento despite having like 10 times the number of games played? Also the Trento AP is also Crap past 10km, no different than the Duca except it takes a lifetime to switch ammo and that the AP is only useful on T5 cruisers that it overmatches, and perfectly broadside cruiser that it can citadel, otherwise you will always fire SAP cause it has a higher Alpha (terrible game design TBH) where as the Duca is designed to make you switch to AP on any broadside target cause it has better Alpha than the HE cause even if you can't citadel the BB your pen damage on the superstructure will always be higher than the HE and with the ships 38knots (was the fastest cruiser in the game until the French were added!!!) and the 5 sec rudder shift allow you to openly fight BBs and be a royal pain in the butt as they struggle to hit you and if it gets to hot you can go dark which the Trento has a difficult time doing. And Rudder shift is better than turning circle when it comes to dodging shells for example I find it much easier to survive heavy fire in a T8 game in the Duca than the Abruzzi despite the latter having a heal mainly due to the former having a 2 second faster rudder. Turing circle is best for dodging torps in slow BBs, that is what it excels at, and also something that breaks Physics with the Italian cruisers bar the Duca cause long thin ships have good straight line Hydro dynamics but it means that the ship can't turn tightly, hence why the Duca, Hood and Harugumo have poor turning circles, short wide ships have a tight turning circle but low top speed, like low tier Dreadnoughts and Super Dreadnoughts but for some reason the Italian cruisers break this despite all other ships in the game following this rule, seems WG though this bit of breaking Physics would be a nice Gimmick to go along with the Gimmicky ammunition and the Gimmicky smoke and the Gimmick lack of useful consumables the massive box o' Gimmicks Italian Cruisers!!!

It's speed is average for the tier and the tight turning circle is more of a hindrance as it just makes you loose speed, rudder shift time is what you need for dodging shells this is why I had to run Double rudder from T8 onwards and Why the Duca D'Aosta is probably the best Italian cruiser for getting potential damage. Play it like an Opportunist... I play the Duca Like that only that the ammo I use is AP and you get 4 salvos off before they can angle not 1 and you can actually help contest caps cause Hydro, HE, Good Shell Velocity, Fast reload and great manoeuvrability. and when there are no opportunities you can still fall back on the HE to damage targets... something the Trento can't do unless you pray they run into torps... Sure all the amour is bad for T6 Cruisers, except the Citadel the Trento has is huge basically largest of the tier which combined with terrible concealment and awful rudder shift just make it an easy target... the only reason it isn't killed quickly most of the time is that it is just not seen as a threat at all...

Trento... Decent... you trying for a Oxymoron? You have worse detection than an Arizona with the armour of a Molatov and the Rudder of a Graff Spee all mixed with a glacial reload and unreliable ammunition when dealing with anything not broadside...

Well when WG announced that it was going to be in the Armoury for Doubloons they should have put a foot note saying that the coupon would not be applicable and I can understand it not working on the bundles the Premium shop works the same way but the base package also in not available which is not the case in the premium shop, hence the large amount of confusion and disappointment... Oh well I guess I'll just keep all the doubloons that have collected up over time for another day... -
IMO it is both OP and Crap at the same time... WG did really well at managing that TBH... It is completely broken against DDs and certain broadside targets, however there is not much special about the DPM when you compare it to other ships HE shells, but that is only in theory as HE doesn't ricochet and SAP can't set fires or damage modules which means against angled targets you can have trouble doing any damage at all thus making the ammunition crap whilst being OP at the same time. I got to try the Trento on the PTS when WG were testing out the RB and back then the SAP only did overpen damage to DDs which then only made the ammo crap, in which I did leave a lengthy review about, how ever I was told SAP is staying as the 'Gimmick' department had decided it was going to be the flavour, so they just made it do normal pen damage to DDs instead now leaving us in the current situation where it is OP on some targets and worthless against anyone heavily angled, a knock on of this is that the AP is almost pointless unless it is a target you can citadel with it as SAP will always have a higher damage potential... Thus with the SAP alpha balanced out by the poor reload the AP DPM suffers greatly too if you look at the numbers I posted previously it is very poor. Then there is the other part about SAP in that it gets more worthless the lower the tier the ship is as the Venezia is the one with the best pen angles thus making the ammo a little more reliable while the entire rest of the tech tree suffers because of it and is just frustrating to play... at least the ships are pretty... I guess that is something and if it was a numerical stat the entire line would be OP in that stat... Sorry you triggered me a bit there... best not divert from the woefully weak Mainz we were discussing

It's not like Nurnburg guns are some of the best of tier 6 they easily can keep pace in T8 games with only the ships low hp and armour holding them back...

I will Trash the Gimmick'd into almost being unplayable Italian line that I was looking forward too all I want... Well at least I can still have fun in the Duca D'Aosta the only Fun Italian cruiser and not frustrating as the enemy angles into you and your damage drops to 0 or the terrible AP DPM which is made pointless by the SAP having higher Alpha (probably the biggest issue with the line along with no useful consumables and terrible stealth and ruddershift all for a Gimmick'd Ammo) Well at least all the ships are very pretty in port shame the 'Gimmick' Department ruined them before release... TBH Amalfi isn't too bad as it is where the line becomes playable, but whenever I played it I just felt I would have had more fun due to not having all the Gimmick limitations hindering me in any other cruiser...

Good job ignoring most of the points I bought up well done... So the armour is bad cause it's armour is not BB grade and only decent for a T8 Cruiser... well what do you know it IS NOT A BB!!! If your dieing to HE spam your clearly playing it wrong... as in your trying to spearhead an attack like a god damn RU BB... well guess what it is not a RU BB it is a CL and hence like all the other T8 cruisers it will die when focus fired just like any other ship even BBs sink to focus fire... The Guns are some of the best of all tier 8 Cruisers and after actually comparing them to T10 guns they are actually stronger than most T10 cruisers... Lets compare then: Ship HE DPM/SAP DPM AP DPM Mainz 204,000 468,000 Zao 178,704 283,824 Des Moines 274,932 490,950 Worcester 344,256 500,736 Moskva 161,820 302,760 Hindenburg 183,600 433,296 Henry IV 141,372 257,796 Goliath 149,688 223,560 Venezia 234,000* 216,000 * = Not as reliable ammunition type due to no fires, and bounces when against angled targets... Wow what a surprise the only things that out DPM it are Des Moines and Worcester which both have short ranges and slow shells also unlike all the CLs and most CAs the HE also pens 38mm of armour which means it is even more reliable and that is without spec-ing IFHE... Yeah the guns suck buff them more

And the Mogami, Cleveland, Baltimore & Albermarle all have less than 16km range... so much for it having poor range... It has a Hipper Hull so of course it won't handle like an Edinburgh... Both Amalfi & Albemarle have worse Rudder Shifts... Who would have thought considering they have just about the worst armour of the tier... Sure the concealment is bad only just worse than the Hipper and Prinz Eugen but then again it has so much going for it in the Offensive department that having good stealth would just make it down right Broken!!! Poor armour... has a 40mm Ice Breaker Bow and one of the best Turtle Back Armour Schemes of all tier 8 cruisers... yep totally sucks... totally has armour weaker than the Albemarle which is from the so called 'Tanky' Cruiser tech tree line... Yeah would totally 10 out of 10 rather play Amalfi or Albemarle... not this thing demolishes them...

Please don't forget that the Nurnburgs guns are head and shoulders above all T6 Cruisers in AP DPM the only downside that ship has is that it is fragile, Mainz gets 1 more turret on top and note that they have 38mm of HE pen by default thus not halving your fire chance, then there are the good Ballistics, good range and God tier AP DPM, all on the CL with the most HP cause it is a Hipper Hull with the only parts missing from the Hull being the 27mm plating that just means that you can't tank 380mm BBs, also you get more torps per launcher than the Hipper so in close it is even more deadly... If Mainz needs a buff what on earth does the Hipper need to be comparable???
