  1. Looks more like he's being made to support the party line... Basically WG told him to say it was Okay...
  2. The only way I can see that you would get the data that the new RU cruisers are balanced is if most of the testers always sailed broadside in them, that will also explain why German ships get nerfed so much as they aren't punished as much for sailing broadside all the time... As soon as you have someone that knows what angling and positioning are they become broken where as not much changes with German BBs relatively, would also explain why the GC was so over tuned, gets blapped when broadside, crazy strong when you know about angling...
  3. The Giulio Cesare got buffed after release... like it needed it... it had it's torp protection improved... not like it had trouble dodging them... This is what happens when you balance a ship using the lowest player standard, in this case it seems to be the opposite or just doesn't make any sense...
  4. My Kronshtdat is a much better BB... oh wait it's a Cruiser Komrade. 20K more HP and almost a 6 second faster reload and only a little lower alpha on the AP. Sound about right when comparing a BB to a 'Cruiser'

WG finally listened; not powecreeping with Petropavlosk

They wouldn't have the hard to balance SAP if they had HE... Don't know anyone that said the Duca D'Aosta is OP...

The reason they don't have HE is cause all that BB players complain about is being set on fire... Looks like that turned out well...

Only the High Tier SAP is broken in the lower tiers it is complete C**p. Also the other issue with Venezia it that it has decent armour and isn't a floating citadel like the T6-9 so that also contributes to how damn powerful it is, especially in CBs where half the ships are Venezias and there are no BBs other than Stalingrads... Isn't part of the poor stats on the Pyotr Velikiy due to it being easy to cit when broadside, any decent player that know how to angle will know how broken it is but most of the BB players are casuals that sail around broadside even at Tier 10 cause most don't get punished for it, but you do get punished in the PV so they drop it's average massively... Doesn't stop it being broken though...

The T7 Surrey is a decent ship with 9.7km concealment and a decent rudder and small citadel, and the Drake is also Decent with no step in the citadel and spaced armour with decent stealth and hard hitting HE on the guns, which you can boost with the Reload Mod. The Tier 8 and 10 are Trash, Tier 8 is a smokeless Neptune (it gets citadel'd from every angle) and as I said prior the Goliath is much worse than the Drake. It is quite a coincidence that the HE pen on these 234mm guns is 59mm with the RU decks being 60mm, especially as IFHE was nerfed the most when being used by CAs rather than CLs.... Improvements it needs are mostly the removal of the step in the citadel or the upping of the upper belt to match the deck or be 32mm, then there is the range which either needs a flat increase so you are not essentially forced to use Range Mod, or they ad something like a Spotting Helicopter to it as it does have a Helipad.

Well it's cause it is worse than the Drake at tier 9 for the following reasons: Worse Stealth. Worse Manoeuvrability. Worse Armour Layout, you regain the Albermarle's stepped citadel that allows you to be over-matched through the upper-belt straight into the Citadel. Worse Default Reload and having 50% of the firepower in the rear means you have to show broadside more often to get the most of your firepower. The range is only slightly better, but you loose the access to the Spotting Aircraft which allowed you to use the Main Battery Reload Upgrade as the Spotter play meant you could work around the poor default range, with Goliath you have to go range mod thus meaning that instead of the 15.something second reload on the Drake you have 18.5 second reload which is a 20% increase in reload time while also having half of your firepower in the rear which makes being in a bow-in/ angled position even worse for the Goliath. Only thing it has going for it is a Higher Alpha strike if you can get all your guns off and the 40mm deck armour. As you can see it has much more negatives than positives over the Tier 9 Drake.

    Come on WEEGEE... Really?

That is only displayed in port the men aren't there in battle, the Roma camo has the same thing where the trucks and planes on deck are not displayed in battle.

Ouch that reminds me of when I first got the Guilio Cesare I had a 13 game loss streak while getting my 2nd highest average damage in any ship, the only thing higher was my Zao at the time... there are just some teams that don't want to win...

No doubt it is a bad ship basically a Kirov that has 1 less gun per turret with the same reload, and instead of the already weak main belt of 50mm you get an even weaker 35mm... I thought Kirov had it bad with being able to be SAP citadel'd with 203mm's... this gets the same treatment from 152mm SAP... Though the 180mm shells are strong and can citadel cruisers from almost any range, it's why I enjoyed playing the Kirov when it was first added, made me take out my Molatov again... the AP on it managed to permanently destroy a Izmail's main turret when I shot at the main belt from 4km away.... Literally the only thing keeping it playable in T7 is the spotter plane that gives you more than 19km range and thus you are a lot harder to 1 shot...

Funny thing is that I have 100% WR in mine in Randoms with 12 games played (did a few in CoOp to finish the missions before the mission reset which is why it isn't 14 games)

    PT, Balance changes

Yeah I remember Grinding both T8 and 9 without the heal it was painful... I also remember having to fight a Radar Grozavoi they were testing on the PTS whilst in the Pan Asian T8 Tech Tree ship... it was not a fun experience...
  16. Looks like the Mikoyan mission will reset in a few hours, so anyone that hasn't finished it should spam coop ASAP.

    Has WG gifted Reich's flags?

The current Japanese Naval Defence forces still use this flag today... But Soviet Flags that are no longer used due to being controversial are okay...
  18. Yeah that's why I rushed to finish it before the Directives reset cause it isn't specified, like the Directives start on the Tuesday despite the patch being Thursday.
  19. Thanks for that I didn't realise that mission actually was weekly, but it doesn't say when the reset day is, so I quickly finished the mission encase it resets with the next load of Directives, will update on if it did get reset.

An idea for Duke of York

Yeah one game I was basically forced to just fire HE cause all I was fighting was angled Missouris and other cruisers covered in 27mm armour and angled (as 380mm guns can't do much to that), except for that 1 salvo I switched to AP to get that broadside Montana at 10km and got a citadel, it rewards correct usage of ammo types, where as the experience in the Lion was more like shoot that broadside BB with AP and get 2k damage, load HE and get 8k...

An idea for Duke of York

The reason you like it is probably the same as me your shells actually go where you aim them so you can actually aim at citadels rather than rely purely on luck, because with the tech tree ships you would most often get more damage with the HE on broadside ships simply cause the shells that will most certainly miss the citadel will at least not overpen and also cause fires and also won't bounce... Also the really fast rudder is nice, it is kinda like a big cruiser in this regard.
  22. Chaos_Umbra

    Nerf the Venezia?

I ran Double rudder cause it was necessary with the non tier 10's humongous citadels and having a fast rudder is much more important than turning circle when it comes to dodging, so now (the high tiers at least) they have the same rudder roughly as my Duca D'Aosta, just that they have no stealth, no utility and crap AP DPM whilst struggling against bow in targets, and to get the high damage numbers in the ship you need to always keep the guns firing so stealth is useless. If only they didn't decide the gimmick the line we could have had something balanced at all tiers... don't think I've heard anyone call the Duca D'Aosta OP, though I do well in it cause it suits my play style, which the mid tier tech tree ships were the complete opposite of... But the Italian Cruisers are not the only line that has issues ignoring the just broken RU ships, we also have the frustrating to play and play against RN BBs with their HE spam and completely wonky guns... WG seem to make a habit of creating balancing nightmares due to the gimmicks they decide to give ship lines when they don't need special gimmicks to be different what is wrong with a line of cruisers with good rudders and speed that have good initial shell velocity that drops of quite sharply at range with a weak but usable HE shell and decent AP at close ranges with slow long range torps?
  23. Chaos_Umbra

    Nerf the Venezia?

It was at varied ranges long range and close... dunno how he manages it... mind you I haven't played the Yoshino that much TBH.

Well in the initial announcement of the RN BB line the KGV was meant to be Tier 8 but due to the oh so skilled Supertesters it was deemed that being able to overmatch bow in cruisers was more important than not being overmatched by every BB bar Scharnhorst and itself... So rather than just being overmatched by Yamato and Musashi, you get overmatched by everything including Bayerns, and instead we got the slapped together at the last minute mashup of a ship called the Monarch (which I refused to even purchase and skipped case the KGV should have been there...). Though this doesn't really matter seeing as it is just about the most unfun BB line to play and play against cause the stupid HE gimmick WG gave them... the T9 Lion is the most unaccurate BB I have ever had the misfortune of playing even the Lyon and Scharnhorst felt laser accurate in comparison... Good thing I have the Fun RN BBs that can hit what you aim at; Warspite, Hood, Vanguard and Thunderer...

It wouldn't be so bad if the difference between the smallest amount of tokens and the largest wasn't so big... it is a 60 fold increase, which basically means the only way to get more than the Mikoyan is to either get extremely lucky and drop 3 lots of 300 during the event to get the tier 8 or buy both T8 premiums and buy some in those random bundles... I'm kinda lucky that I had 1 lot of 300 drop and my first bundle available is 150 which will be left as a backup as I don't really want to regrind the Shchors... but even with that I'm mostly reliant on getting a further 1 lot of the 300 drop at least to have a chance of getting it...
