Edinburgh is a fine ship with 9.2km (ish, can't quite remember) concealment, with 10km torps and the best armour in the line. And you can run a 10km radar if you feel brave enough. What made it feel bad was that it always faced T10, which made it feel worse than it was, whereas T7 was a sweet spot for being top tier, it isn't so much any more now though you see a lot of T9 games now.

Fiji is probably the strongest T7 Cruiser and other than at the job of hunting DDs I find it stronger than Belfast...

It probably feels less accurate if you are mainly shooting bow in targets cause the Horizontal dispersion is terrible, but the Vertical dispersion is one of the best in the game meaning that when shooting broadside targets at range your more likely to land more shots, sure some will be towards the bow or stern of the target, but you will have far fewer instances of shell landing long or short, thus in practice the RU BBs tend to be very accurate compared to other BBs even at range when dealing with broadside targets, which is what you kinda want to do in a BB anyway, obviously the value shown in game is the Horizontal dispersion so unless you look it up on a 3rd party site you would never know that it has much better vertical dispersion than even Yamato...

On another note I already have the Montpelier and Yukikaze from the last Colab, if you Buy the Bundle for the Littorio and Russian one (whatever it is called) you also have to get the other 2 ships again, do you get doubloon compensation or just Credits? Cause I thought WG didn't want you to be able to do that anymore. Seems odd that there isn't a bundle just for the 2 of them?

TBH other than against DDs I find Fiji stronger than Belfast in most situations with the heal and torps. Considering it and Kutuzov were removed due to smoke and HE and now we have Smolensk, London and the new Anchorage which are all smoke HE cruisers are these old removed ships really as strong as they used to be.

Odd that your having such a bad Grind, looking back at my stats, Soyuz was my most accurate BB with a 34% Hit Rate, much more accurate than my Thunderer (32%) and Yamato (27%)...

DE really??? Your choice then, I wouldn't go DE as Fires you just rely on RNG anyway, not worth the 3 points unless it is Cruiser or DD main battery. In that earlier Bismarck game I still got 7 fires with nothing spec'd into it, with German secondaries it is more about the raw damage due to the high pen, I didn't run DE when you also had to have IFHE so I just went and used the free points to go into stealth or Tanking. As for the question on why there are Great Concealment HE spammers, well for 1 WG ruined a lot of BB play just by adding the RN BB line with the stupid HE Gimmick, as for why they spam HE well they have a hard time having the shells land in the same map square thus you can't use AP as you can't even aim it as you just pray it even hits, the Thunderer on the other hand I don't know why they kept the strong HE considering it is accurate and has really good AP, but seeing as most BB players Spam HE regardless cause they see RN BBs doing it... you see a lot of Thunderers pass on opportunities to get Dev Strikes just cause they only know how to use HE doesn't stop it being frustrating to play against. Now that they are adding BBs that get less accurate the closer you get and have no armour (Champagne) they are clearly just catering to the worst players now (You know the ones sniping in all BBs regardless of nation saying that they have to use all of their gun range...) as more often than not they are the ones most likely to just throw money at the game cause they think it will make them play better and finally breach the 40% WR mark...

Well that is cause the Drake is the best ship in the line considering the Goliath is a massive downgrade, TBH the selling point they had is being tanky and the new Russian cruisers even the Nevsky do the tanky part 10 times better as they don't eat citadels from all angles, which is one reason why the Drake is the best ship in the line. It doesn't as was said have the stepped citadel flaw and it has by default a faster reload than Goliath, is stealthier, more manoeuvrable, and has a Spotter plane so that you have the option of running Reload Upgrade in the last slot unlike the Goliath where you have to due to the poor range thus making the reload even worse for the tier 10...

Why don't you have Fire Prevention? Cause the German secondaries got buffed so you no longer need IFHE freeing up 4 points for either FP or CE? I run Fire Prevention on GK and CE on Bismarck, I find that GK is going to be spotted regardless so better to improve the survive-ability, whereas Bismarck can get down to 12.9km which just leaves a 1.6km gap between concealment and secondary range (This captain also works well on Odin and Scharnhorst, potentially Siegfried too). Haven't played GK in randoms for a while though so not so sure you can still brawl too effectively with it, did just take the Bismarck out though with 171 secondary hits 3 kills and 114k damage so that works quite well still, was a tier 8 only game though so didn't have to deal with the super long range HE spammers.

Your complaining about taking 20k from AP rockets to your broadside in Des Moines, at least you can angle to them, unlike taking 15k from Midway rockets that you have 0 counter for...

You forgot the stealth radar, the main problem is that unlike other recent cruiser releases this one has far too many strengths and barely any disadvantages, comes down to only turning circle, DPM and a bit worse accuracy at long range (the ballistics help counteract this as it is far easier to lead the target in the first place). If you compare it to the Goliath which has far more disadvantages than advantages, and considering that it was sold as being part of the 'tanky' cruiser line which easly gets citadel'd and thus in practice is very squishy something the Russian cruisers do 10 times better, even the Nevsky is far more tanky than the Goliath...

I've seen worse, at least by being near the cruisers the DD is at least near the fight, saw a Oland hiding behind our Shokaku a while ago... he was even more useless and in a DD that can somewhat make itself an unappealing target...

I think the gimmick that this ship had was that it had the 1/4 pen on the guns... until WG decided to buff the entire line with it thus the ship lost its only unique feature other than having crap torps and RN smoke.

What about the Scharnhorst's Turrets they are triples unless you decided to deliberately forget about it...

You don't want to know what WG are thinking with the 2 Premium ones in testing the top tier 1 they are trying to gimmick into being a +7km detection torpedo boat with 4 km torps (Like that makes any sense especially with all the Radar CVs and Hydro), while the other has been in development hell for at least a year... I'm almost at the point I don't want WG to add Italian ships cause you know they will slap stupid gimmicks on them that will either be a pain to balance or just not work or be fun to play...

Not really look at the Tech Tree Italian cruisers long thin hulls that turn on a dime ignoring all principles of Hydrodynamics, WG have already started to ignore the ships physical characteristics when considering stats. I mean most of the new Russian ships would sink in a slight ocean swell...

Well guess Venezia will be joining the rest of the Italian cruisers as port Queens. I did say when they allowed some early access on the PTS for the ships in their early stage that SAP will be a balancing nightmare and do more harm than good... shame I was shot down with the reasoning 'this is the gimmick we decided and nothing is gonna change it...' Just shows how WG views constructive feed back... They seem to have a talent lately of making ships that are both unfun to play and unfun to play against... it is truly a remarkable skill normally it is one or the other but not with WG's Balance Department...

Actually when fighting DDs I actually found that I got full AP pens a lot of the time especially if the DD is angled a combination of Improved pen angles and short fuse...

Not really the standard Camo is 5k Doubloons, and the Special French DD Camos which are the same style as these new ones are 6k Doubloons, so you are paying 1.5k more Doubloons for some Free stuff... Not a good Deal, the Sci-fi camos and the Kobayashi camos are different and thus more expensive.

That T6 Italian DD Leone that currently rests in Development Hell...

I don't count free stuff as being worth money... When ever there is a bundle in the store I only take into account things like Ships, Doubloons and Premium time everything else is just random free stuff to inflate the price, hence unless the bundle is cheaper than those 3 things separately then it is a no go...

Just wait until they add it 3 months down the line for Doubloons, you can now buy the special French DD camos that were 'Event Only' though they are more expensive than the normal camo, but still cheaper than 7.5k Doubloons...

And what do you do when all BBs are dead or they lemming'd to the opposite flank? Gun Boat in a T4 Kuma with less guns?
