The Best Super Battleship is still the Petro, that thing demolishes both Hannover and Satsuma, especially Satsuma with its Yamato like citadel...

That is the Wrong game instance, you want the PTS one not the TST which is a closed test server. I had an issue when I first started the game, which was meant to play an intro video for the new event, but because I was having all the stuff credited to the test account I just got a black screen with audio, and when I went to the event section which has the option to play the intro video the button doesn't work (Clicks and nothing happens). Fairly certain this 'bug' is intended, but I used to have access to all my live server account stuff on the PTS, but now that the PTS account has been removed so you use your live server one but it isn't a copy of the live server account stuff.

Jutland containers -any success? Agincourt? Share pls
Chaos_Umbra replied to Gnirf's topic in General Discussion
Out of the 2 free containers from Amazon Prime, I got the Agincourt camo, no ship, so I have a useless item sitting in my account that is worthless as you can't get the ship outside a lottery... -
Well to start with you will have to buy stages to complete it regardless, in the current dockyard it is 3 stages and if you buy them at the start you get a discount but to get the ship you will still need to complete all the missions, if you are 2 short cause you missed 2 missions, you can buy the missing stages at the end to get the ship, though buying individual stages is more expensive than buying the starter packs. There are normally 2 starter packs, one which is the minimum stages and one giving more, I think the current Dockyard it gave 8 (You can buy both if you really want to whale), the cheapest is obviously the minimum pack and doing all the missions, but if you know your going to be quite a few short then it is probably cheaper to get the larger pack even if you can complete 1 more stage than needed, in that case you will get Steel or whatever reward WG has decided.

Air strike not as [Edited] as it seems?
Chaos_Umbra replied to totally_potato's topic in General Discussion
It does in some cases, especially old projects drawn up during and at the end of WW1, such as the new Constellation Battle Cruiser which ignoring the modernised AA has also had these ugly large bulbous Torpedo Bulges added to it and in WG's infinite wisdom they have ignored the fact that this modification to the ship would have massively cut the ships top speed due to ruining the ships hydrodynamics by making it fatter. But you are right about some ships getting extra modernised wile others seem to be trapped in the time when they were first drawn up. -

True but it would be the early stages of the development of such systems and can't really compare to the ones developed 10 years later in the mid 1950s. We all know how rapidly such technology advances, in the 2000s flip phones were all the rage it wasn't even thought of that we would all have touchscreen phones 10 years down the line. -

Well technically the High Tier Swedish DDs are from the Cold War, and thus have improved efficiency with Radar Fire control, so of course an AA mount like this would be more effective than a guy winding a handle and aiming using a crosshair even if the number on the latter is higher. You can also look at it this way most of the AA on BBs in the game (that were actually built so ignoring the Russian ones) were meant to shoot down piston engine'd fighters where as the Halland for example was meant to shoot down jet planes and thus the armaments them selves are much more efficient. -

TBH some of those drops positionings were rather questionable, and the whole idea of these strikes was to be against large targets such as BBs, so show a clip of a GK dodging it please! The Des Moines was lucky that it was only a Bourgogne on that flank which can't overmatch him and thus allowing him to move, and he was moving in the first place not like how you see a lot of radar cruisers which camp on an island corner, in those situations the only way to dodge would be full speed ahead in to a 3 BB crossfire, I'm not sure what would be the bigger threat, the strike or 3 BBs shooting at an exposed Cruiser? Lets also consider that Des Moines has much better acceleration with the Unique Upgrade than other Radar cruisers like Alaska, Kronstadt, Stalingrad, Moskva and Petro, all are much more at risk from this strike down to the lack of mobility. That Daring at the end was so lucky that the guy dropping was awful at it, if he had spread out the drops and had them 90deg to the way he dropped them both the Daring and the Cleveland would have been hit First change that this needs before any further testing can be done is either the ship concealment needs to be raised or the range of the strike has to be dropped to below the ship concealment. Secondly planes should appear 10km from the target then approach as this is the normal spotting range of aircraft and will allow time for the AA to do something. With that done then it can be considered if it is too strong or weak. -
Småland fire rate testing - DD skills don't work as advertised?
Chaos_Umbra replied to Gebe_'s topic in General Discussion
Next PTS I will give it a go on the Yudatchi as it has a 9s reload, might be noticeable on that if the Buff is 10% instead of 5%. Might also see if there is a difference still in the number of planes lost for running concealment on CVs too. -
ST 0.10.5, "Grand battle", disabling of friendly fire and other news.

Solution: Don't torp from the second line... -
I hope it is like Hood in that while it is a large target it has good gun angles so can keep well angled, if they keep the 16mm plating that would essentially remove all it's tanking ability as angling would be fairly pointless...

Poll: Which Ship did you get from KotS Collection?
Chaos_Umbra replied to Ocsimano18's topic in General Discussion
Z-39 is a good little ship played it in 3v3 Clan Brawls and it worked out really well, good stealth and Hydro and the HE isn't as trash as the new German DDs with much better torps on top. -
Should be 381mm guns as that is what the QE has...

Also haven't heard whether the Concealment skill for CVs no longer kills your planes by applying to the speed debuff to the planes returning to a safe altitude? -
Well I wouldn't have seen that topic as I have that account ignored, for obvious reasons...
-
You can say this about most recent lines being ruined by gimmicks (well except the RN CAs and US BB alternate branch) tech tree RN BBs have trash accuracy because broken HE, Italian cruisers have super cruiser reload because of stupidly high SAP alpha and have no cruiser tools cause of Exhaust smoke, Italian BBs can't hit the broadside of a barn from within the barn and have a long reload cause of stupid SAP alpha, and lastly German DD split everything is trash because they have over tuned AP...
-
Odd because I used to get 0.2s faster reload pre commander rework and now I only get 0.1s buff... And if it is a UI error that displays the value they want, but the skill actually still gives a 10% buff how have you measured this 0.1s of reload gain?
-
There used to be 2 builds for Daring one going for Super Intendent and the other for what was BFT, since the Rework it is only really 1 build and that is the one with Super Intendent as BFT's bonus was halved from 10% to 5%, plus the build increased in cost from 19 points to 20 points the only variety you have is on the last point spare on a 21 point captain. Radio Location is great on the Daring because it is slow, this means that at the start of the match when DDs are heading for the caps, you know whether the cap your going for is even being contested and you can plot an intercept course to catch them off guard as they would still be closing the distance to you before they can actually bail. Build like this: Preventative Maintenance Last Stand Survivability Expert Concealment Expert Radio Location Super Intendent Adrenaline Rush The last point can be thrown into any 1 point skill You can swap around the last 2 3 point skills in the order of acquisition but personally I prefer the extra heal for better survivability.

[Poll - May 2021] How many ship lines with "Tier X" have you reset for the "Research Bureau" thus far?
Chaos_Umbra replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Only done it 4 times cause I had loads of Free XP and Credits and did a double reset then one season ended and the next started so I had a x4 bonus on each ship, so in reality I have only bought the Harugumo line 3 times (First when originally grinding and 2 times for the resets). Otherwise I would not have touched this stupid addon to the game, got the Siegfried and Yolo Emilio out of it and now regret the Siegfried cause the commander Rework killed the ship, Yolo Emilio is fun but heavily reliant on MM to function. When the next x2 bonus comes around I might do the same again to get the Vampire as it is a ship I have actually visited 20 years ago and I do enjoy the Haida and Daring. -
Don't forget it also looses it's 32mm plating which it means that 380mm guns can overmatch the bow vastly reducing the ships survivability!
-
They pull them out of their arses...

CVs can Surface ships cannot. But the only way you can do that is on specific ships in special game modes and the torps just pass through you. This was the video I was talking about:
-
I saw a CC test this in an arms race mode with the Marceau and you cannot get hit with your own torps.
