Even CCs complain about Puerto Rico grind

I agree the PR event is terrible, but at least the ship is nothing special so you CAN ignore it. There have been worse grinds out there in various MMOs for gear that you cannot ignore (notably World of warcraft). I know this might be negatively recieved, but lets not blow this out of proportion. There is no health risk with WoWs so far (unless you're a gaming addict)
  2. Yeah that is one of the major culprits, but not the only one. I direct your attention to the words "psychologial tricks". Old-style grinds as you point out are fine. If all WG did was add more of those without timegating, lootboxes or any of the other BS they bundle every reward of 2019 into, I wouldn't be whining here. There are multiple additional tricks layered on top of time-gating which make the game events a pest to play due to time-pressure and uncertaincy. - Patch/time gating is the basic ingredient. - Add events that cannot be completed without logging in every damn day for the daily missions (several including Benham) - Add time-gated directives that must be completed in 1 week before patch ends, no matter what you did the rest of the patch. - Add sunk-cost fallacy: Events like Benham that cannot be completed (but almost) without the use of Doubloons - Add gambling schemes with major rewards in random Lootbox XX out of YY which is statistically created to place rewards in the last few boxes for the majority.

    I got a medal!

Game rule has a clause about using "words to evade the chatban system" so clearly you are en experienced dissident in disguise if no forbidden words were acutally found. Alphavodka semiAI simply identified you as such and metered out the punishment for attempted evasion. /someone who got his 2 first chatbans (after playing for 3 years) last ranked without using forbidden words.
  4. Excellent post and one I've wanted to write myself but been too lazy. Change the Title to World of Grindships 2019 and allow me to expand a bit and you have the reason I've taken multiple breaks from the game and are close to quitting entirely. I don't like grindy games, and with all the recent psychological tricks and changes, WG has turned from casual relaxing game into something more akin to MMO levels of grindiness. Let me contrast the first 3 years of WoWs with the last year: The first 3 years of Warships saw few freemium ship rewards (usually low tier (5-6) and behind then-monstrous grindwalls - easy by 2019 standards) and a grand total of 2 legendary captains. Free premium time and doubloon rewards were incredibly hard to come by. Directives and daily missions did not exist (or were inconsistently used) Game was a breeze to be played on demand, whenever, without a worry about missing out or sataying competitive. 2019 saw options to earn - free tier 6 premium (testserver) along with 3-4 freemiums and 3 free legendary captains. - Requirements to earn said "free" content requires hardcore play and sometimes that is not even enough and additional doubloons must be thrown at the prize. - Daily missions containing free 1 day premium time and even doubloons. - Various tokens that could be exchanged for substantial amounts of premium time or doubloons on demand. Meanwhile, the rewards for "just playing" like containers and anniversary / snowflake rewards have gone down substantially, but the amount of events have increased to compensate. - Daily missions and extremely tight timegated directives have been added to reward hardcore play (if you dont play hardcore, sorry, but that is not enough to obtain the rewards) - Requirements to complete missions have gone up. Conclusion: The amount of content has increased. Keeping up requires a lot more time. Very casual players can earn doubloons and free premium time to be spent at their leisure as never before. Meanwhile all the major content is locked behind hardcore grindwalls and sometimes paywalls as evidenced by PR despite WG trying their best to wiggle out of it. In other words, there are no events or rewards catered to the midrange casual players who occasionally take part in events. The message from WG to a large part of the player base is clear: either turn hardcore, pay up or f*ck off.

legendary/unique upgrades becomes research buru only

Thats WG WoWs PR types in a nutshell for the last year

legendary/unique upgrades becomes research buru only

Obvious first thought is adding LMs for the ships that don't have any. Unfortunately nothing here about balance...so we risk just a nice straight LM gated buff to Kremlin, Balancegrad and Balensk. But you're right, even scarier is it could herald the return of several "levels" of buffs earned through the RB as was originally proposed. Especially with the level of greed WG has recently displayed. For those who dont remember: Also LMs as part of RB rewards was actually announced back in august:

    DD's, I still don't get them..

    DD's, I still don't get them..

CV complaint thread in disguise I'll just leave this from the current CV infested patch for thought

    Will you complete directive 2?

150 torpedo hits completed in one night, was very easy using Benham The rest: Not so much, although I did about 50% of the potential damage mission the same night (benham easy 1 mio each game, for some reason one get shot at a lot)

    Unique upgrades

First: Thank you for some long due attention to Legendary mods. Second: This better not be an attempt to sneak in straight up upgrades to tier X ships via NTC and already existing LMs. We already had one shitstorm in august, another can easily happen on top of PR shitstor. Do WG need to have parallel shitstorms? Third: F*** your stupid grindfest of a game. Uninstalled again after one month break.

legendary/unique upgrades becomes research buru only

Already uninstalled again. I want to enjoy the game, not grind or be bullied. If this is turning into World of Grindships, there are better MMOs. Maybe they want to shove all the fell medicine down our throats in one go to drown it under the PR disaster.

    My first week on EU

Thanks for the great contrast and compare! Also maybe a bad time to change over because of the PC ruckus and patch warriors. That said...My Benham enjoys the environment

    Worst Tier 9 BB

Alsace or Izumo, having a hard time deciding. Alsace guns can really troll you by missing all 12 shells at 5 km range. Izumo just overpens everything no matter the angle.
  14. Got the Benham in July but didn't play it much. For some reason it seemed underwhelming compared to ships like Kitakaze and Jutland (i prefer gunboats). Now I took it out for fun after watching the Flamuu video, and not only does it seem brokenly strong, but the credit earnings seem comparable to my Missouri! More importantly, it is far easier to have good Benham games than good Missouri games. What are your experiences with the ship? Example: Breaks 1 mio credits without even a 50% credit camo, no sweat (something that is relatively uncommon in Missouri)
  15. GulvkluderGuld

    Benham: Credit earning like Missouri?

I think Benham comes pretty damn close. Consider: How well you (can) do in the ship also affects income, and DDs have high carry potential: My results in Benham are just so much better than Missouri that it reaches the same earning potential. And no, I doubt it is a statistical fluke. I have exactly the same stats in Kitakaze after 120 games. (poor gearing)
  16. GulvkluderGuld

    Benham: Credit earning like Missouri?

Stalingrad earn nowhere near the same as Benham. I played 100 Smolensk games in ranked and never hit 1 mio either (but no eco flags on). I dont think tier X freemiuns has the same earning potential as tier 9 premiums. Also are you sure about tier X silver ships having such a high earning coefficient?
  17. GulvkluderGuld

    Benham: Credit earning like Missouri?

True there is a lot more economic flags now. Gamescom camo is still very good, as it is one of only 2 camos to give 50% credits (the other: for meriterious service) Again though, I'm not talking what ships it is possible to break 1 million. I'm talking which ones does it almost every second game
  18. GulvkluderGuld

    Benham: Credit earning like Missouri?

So have I, but my bad games are 600k in Benham, good ones of 1700-2000 bXP i get around 1 mio credits. Harekaze can't compare to that.

Best CV line for exterminating dd’s?

Agreed, but those are the minority. ~75% of CVs dont move untill their hull take incoming shells. Thus the effectiveness of BB AP fire Also I did get sunk once or twice in Ranked as Hakuruy because of autopilot bugs/issues.

Best CV line for exterminating dd’s?

Depends on what else you have to shoot. .to most players, spotted CV is like waving a red flag in front of their eyes. I've both devastated full hp CVs using Yamato and been devasted as CV by said bb. - good accuracy BBs have no trouble getting multiple hits, especially if CV is not moving - dont shoot the flightdeck (duh), shoot the bow / stern for overmatch (unless broadside CV) - if CV is kept spotted, you will be surprised by how fast even a tier X CV will go down when there is a lot of players on the map.

2019, maybe the worst WoWS year ever?

2019 Good additions: Halloween Raid the Filth operation was amazing fun. April fool space destroyer battles were lots of fun too. Implementing the long awaited gun-bloom fix. Also 0.8.0 playing as CV was alot of fun CV REEwork: questionably good or bad, I am not sure what to say. New Cvs are fundamentally a broken concept, but WeeGee did succed in restricting the CV to only influence one spot at a time. The negative additions. Turning WoWs truly into World of Grindcraft Russian navy vs the World bias (Smolensk, kremlin, Stalingrad + captain kutznetsov) Research bureau recycled used ships megadisaster PaytoRico disaster Savage battles basically being copy-paste space battle one month later.

Best CV line for exterminating dd’s?

Yamato from across the map might have a a word or two to say about that.

24,000 doubloons for 'premium' Puerto Rico boosters.

Leave it to WG to f*ck up even harder by posting false adverticements after the rocket already went up and all the effort they put into apologizing for just that. With that video showing 1k doubloon cost in hand and EU consumer protection laws, you can probably demand WG sell the booster for 1k regardless of what the client states.

Best CV line for exterminating dd’s?

In general for silver ships: - IJN: can really only use RFs vs DDs. Although the TB are probably the best of the 3 nations for DD work (DDs can outrun the torps of other nations), using TBs on DD is very hard. - USN: RFs are best left in the basement. TiTis are made for cruiser work, have too few rockets to reliably hit a DD, while HVARs are made for DD work but requires you approach DD from broadside: Not happening. Use HE DBs vs DDs instead. - RN: Slow and very maneuverable planes. Both RFs and Carpetbombs can be used on DDs, with RF being the better.

    Congratulations WG

Others have already discussed how this could have been handled in a better way and to read the product discription. As to return policy... In my country / EU you have a 14 day right to return a purchase (some exceptions) including a right to try the product without voiding the right of returning it (undamaged). Normally for software and digital products, the right is voided by opening the product - and you cannot demand a "return" of any service that has been already carried out. The law supercedes WG terms and conditions. Would argue that you should be able to return any ship within 14 days of purchase if unused. Used ones are probably a grey area, but since it is a permanent ship model (just digital instead of physical, like an E-book is to a book), you might have a reasonably good case here if wg refuses to take their product back. Maybe someone with experience in consumer law can shed additional light on this.
