I got banned for discussing tactics in a Ranked battle with another players, also for no apparent reason. Since I already had a ban (my first and only in 4 years) end, i were being quite careful and no profanity was used unless stating that a "BB was afk" is a profanty in russia. Sent in the replay and everything and asked for a reason, but got the same uninformative response. Clearly the algorithm is funtioning properly and if it isn't broken, you should definitely not try to fix it. -
Havn't seen anybody running this (but then my clan hangs out in low storm). If the issue is with a specific ship, maybe nerf the ship instead of changing the rules just for that? Anyhow, why is this a problem? I'm assuming the klebers use the shima as scout and mob one target after the other like kleberovsk (or simply yolo)? In that case, grouping up instead of isolating ships should mitigate the effect quite a bit. Or if it gets popular, there are spammy ships that deal well with Klebers.

Assuming by D4 you mean directive 4, you still play on 9.1 until next patch, so no problem? Edit: got the same message. I'm assuming wg is trying to advertise lotteryboxes. You can still get british tokens untill the patch from D4. Afterward, once 9.2 hits with the PanEU directives, the only way to obtain british tokens is through those same boxes.

I find russian long range HE spam and dodging constant BB volleys quite entertaining, but letting that slide, the heart of the issue is that stealth radar shouldn't exist. WG already nerfed USN CLs radar range from 10 to 9 km for this specific reason, and I see no reason why russian cruisers shouldn't get the same treatment...except to confirm there is indeed a russian bias in this game. Reducing radar range to 11 km and reducing max concealment to around 11,5 km would be fine in my book. As to the secondary first point i still respecfully disagree. Extra radar range is much more impactful than extra duration beyond the first 20-30s, since the DD has usually already left the radar envelope at that point. The game isnt played in a vacuum and radar is a zoning tool. And a 12 km radius zone is much bigger than a 10 km radius zone. -

On the contrary. Soviet Radar both outrages most DD torpedoes and is much harder to navigate around without getting spotted and radared. They're also tougher targets and posses railguns that will hit what they shoot. Meanwhile USN cruisers can't hit most evading dds beyond 6-7 km, maybe 8-9 for a Unicum. I've literally 1v1 killed more Des Moines that I can count with Kitakaze. There is plenty of tools, some would even say too many excluding CVs. - DDs are the most exposed class by far with the lowest hp pool. - DD numbers are mirrored - radar proliferation - hydro on every ship since dfaa is a joke - SAP can literally one shot a dd - sAP - stealth radar (Mino, chapayev and even Wichita I think?) plus assorted DDs. - spotterplane and floatplane - flooding nerfs - Torpedo lookout module Literally the only thing DDs can do vs properly positioned cruisers and BBs is to permaspot them. And while that is annoying as hell, it is literally the function of dds and as such cannot be removed anymore than BBs can have their main guns removed or cruisers their HE and consumables. With a few notable exceptions dds are bad at dealing damage compared to Bb/Ca so if you want to remove spotting ability, they would need to be compensated some other way to not be meaningless. -
If you think Ranked is bad, you should try Random battles.

Don't buy tier X permacamos, ever. WG will nerf the relevant ship sooner or later. The only tier X permacamo i still use is the Infernal that could be earned during halloween. Tier IX and below might be worth it since WG rarely nerf them My experience: - Gearing permacamo: powercreeped hard by Daring and Somers - Minotaur permacama: made obsolete by Smolensk (except radar mino in competetive) - YY permacamo: nerfed into oblivion below tier IX levels and then some - Worchester permacamo: radar range nerfed, BBs introduced with 30 mm overmatch - basically superceded by other ships - Henri IV: latest one nerfed (acceleration)

Kremlins in almost every game i played during weekend, but there are more (horrid) GKs and Thunderers, 'tis true. Few CVs - probably ranked out already. -

Lucky you. Currently I'm on track for the last 2k steel fro Bourgogne (need R1 for that, but I do that every season). Are you planning to get both? I love my Flint, but Neustrashimy seems quite meh, especially considering the alternatives on T9. Coalwise I'm torn between using the 310k i have for Thunderer, Marceau or one of the tier 9 (JB aor georgia). Is there any reason to get JB over Bourgogne apart from credits? (i dont like BBs, so either will probably be a port queen) -

Took me around 20 games to figure out what ship to play and to dodge whenever CV is in the queue. After that I've managed around 60% WR in Daring.

So you do Enjoy AR, but not with CVs in it? That pretty much sums up my experience. And dodging queue whenever there was a CV in it meant i got maybe 2 CV games out of 20 games so far (the ones where MM instantly send you into battle without a chance to hit "leave"). Fortunately we won both. I think you underestimate the intelligence of potatoes. Had a won game where both the enemy shima and the friendly CV managed to find the cap and each other, CV nearly throwing the game but didn't - quite - sink to the inevitable torpedoes. -

I wholeheartedly agree with the enjoyment of variation. Maybe I should've added an option to say "both", but I wanted to force voters to think a bit and choose, as preparation for question 4. Would be neat, i agree. I'm still undecided on the matter of incompetent testing vs seeeekret cunning plan to aid CVs - although based on how the heal can turn planes invulnerable, I may hold out for both! -

I can imagine. You can often land 3-5 torps easy that way and follow up with a fire or two....it can really ruin some supercruisers day in a hurry Also sometimes you get an unexpected bonus. At least two DD players in Ranked today managed to eat every single torp aimed at the cruiser behind them I do think other DDs should be able to know that at least one torp go down the center of the aim, so they can at least guarantee attrition damage to a bowtanking target. -

Made R7 today by playing DD and dodging whenever CVs were in the queu. I think 55% overall wr because i tried out a bunch of ships to begin with, but settled on Daring with around 60% wr atm. it's a clusterf*ck even without CVs. With them its unplayable. Buffs arn't really that powerful except for the heal...which is stupidly good for *drumroll* CVs. -

I've realized that you can list anything with CV in it and I won't touch it with a ten foot pole . Arms Race is a minor inconvenience comparatively. Fortunately, clan wars are still exempt from the sky police. What bracket do you play? One of the the reasons i enjoy ranked is I generally see less of this kind of behaviour the higher you get. This is irrespective of seasons aswell. Right now R10-R15 is full of camping BBs, along with all the armchair geniouses who advocate lemmingtrains and report you from leaving them - which can be rather frustrating. Fortunately if you are any good, scoring 3-4 kills and hardcarrying the team is usually not too difficult as long as there isn't a CV to rain on your parade. Meanwhile I made it to R10-R5 and the gameplay is at a much higher level. Most games have 4-6 players from Gale and above who will at least spread out and take up regular defensive positions as per clan war tactics. It's one of the reasons I enjoy ranked - once you get high enough in the leagues, there is actual teamwork (at least early in the season). -
Favorites: Benham, Harugumo, Daring, Minotaur, I'm torn here. Probably RN since i just love Mino, Fiji, Belfast and the DDs, but it's touch and go with USN having Ohio, DM and Worchester. If I had Enterprise, it would be USN for sure

I like how buffs reward more aggressive gameplay with increased carry potential. That allows single good players to carry more bad players than normal, and that makes Arms race less frustrating than normal ranked to me. The force multiplier seems about right this season, compared to the T9 season where some of the buffs were extremely strong (concealment and stronger heal). Also the player who picks up the buff do not earn any special reward this season. Something that could cause friction last time around. As to the heal. Once 3-4 stacks is achieved, it does seem strong at keeping BBs alive (yes Kremlin, looking at you here) and also on some of the supercruisers, but the only real problem child I've experienced is the plane healing. On surface targets, the extra healing tend to get offset by increased ROF buffs, and I havn't really had trouble finishing ships off using DoT based cruisers and even DDs like Daring. -

I've defaulted to Daring for any sort of competitive game exactly because single launch is so effective vs bowtankers (and Daring has the ability to follow up with HE spam) WG has been nerfing DDs directly and indirectly for years tho. Probably their CEO or some higher ups are BB mains. -
I will just leave this here. Done in Daring, rank 5-10 bracket. And the enemy CV was pretty good too (from typhoon league clan), but our CV just leapfrogged fighters for me to achieve this pinnacle of satisfaction

1. The largest part of damage done to BBs come from AP (and guess who is shooting that?) 2. Since WG nerfed torpedoes into the ground, then nerfed flooding into the ground and introduced th REEEwork for good measure, guess what is the only remaining alternative to large caliber AP shells for dealing with BBs? 3. Since WG nerfed cruiser armor indirectly by adding lots of 30 mm overmatch, guess the only way cruisers can fight back? So in conclusion, yes i think you are right. And yes I hate how the game has been dumbed down. But I dont agree with your suggestion that the problem is burning BBs. On the contrary, in fact. BBs need some heavy range or survivability nerfs along with HE nerfs (coming next patch).
