    That video isn't even about ranked. Suggest you remove it as I could imagine mods sending your post to gulag for video posts. Overall nicely written post in a positive language. Some of the rankings are a bit open to debate and you didnt cover the best carry ships or some reason: CVs and DDs. Since i ranked out in a DD I'll just add for R10 to R1: Top tier: Daring (because CVs) Next tier: Somers, Shima, LM Gearing Middle: Anything that isnt below. Trash tier: Z52, Khabarovsk, Yue Yang. Daring is the most versatile pick and works especially good in CV games, which lifts it into its own tier. Fast quick smokes are perfect to counter CVs, incredible guns that are coupled with single-launch torps are the best in the game to deal with bowtankers. Downside: zzzzzlow. Shima, Somers and LM gearing because of excellent concealment and decently ranged torpedoes that pack a punch. F3 shima is viable, but 12 km shima probably more versatile. Z-52: lacks torpedo range and damage to be relevant. Also hydro is quite useless when buff fights are determined by 12 km radars. Khaba: no reason to play it when Khaba 2.0 is named Kleber.

    It will be a return to the times before radar was implemented. Either both teams will bring enough smoke ships to cover themselves almost permanently (even a Grad can be covered) and blindfire/torping will determine the winner...Or we will see aggressive pushes. 1. Is that true? What happened? 2. About FDR much will depend on the meta. Imagine if everybody brings a smokescreen, the amount of hits will be greatly reduced. It will be a boring meta.

    DDs are getting scarce to the påoint of extinction, so now cruisers get the DD treatment of getting oneshot by a single CV sortie. This looks like the CV will be bored and make a cup of coffee while the planes slowly crawl across the map while surface ships scream bloody murder when they arrive. Maybe I should get one
  4. Hey folks. I'm collecting mostly tier X ships and I've got 320k coal atm and wondering what to spend it on. I already have all the coal cruisers. Left: - Thunderer - Jean Bart or Georgia - save it for Marceau Is there any value to getting Jean bart when i already have Bourgogne? Also I'm worried WG might remove the Thunderer from the shop before i get my hands on it. Georgia might be interesting since i have Ohio and i dont have a fast secondary specced ship for secondary hit missions and she looks like having a mobile playstyle - but isn't getting removed. I mostly play mobile ships (dds and cruisers) and value playmaking over bowtanking. Thus the interest in Marceau. Just used my coupon to buy Bourgogne and will be testing that the next days.

    I just Ranked out in Daring.....70% winrate in said bracket. Not many CV games, but they were rarely bad. But beside the first 5 minutes, they usually are busy elsewhere and smokes can be used to annoy them to no end.

    1. Just dodge. Easy enough in this ranked season, so why not in the next? 2. most CVs are crap 3. USN smokes last forever.

    Thank for the recommendation. I got it and just played my 2nd game. Bourgogne feels alot more sluggish and annoying to maneuver so i actually prefer JB over Bourg, although Bourg at least can usually hit what you shoot, not like Alsace. Next question is how to build it? Just regular tank BB captain with FP and CE? Module wise, is it worth getting rudder shift mod/engine mod over the tanky mod (damage con 2?)

So I've played quite a bit of Ranked by now, and I've been actively "dodging" whenever CVs are in the qeue which got me thinking: It might not be the game mode that makes it an unfun experience, it might just be CVs. And no, this topic isn't about CVs except how their presence impact the game mode. This is about Arms Race, as a game mode and whether we would like it to return. With or without CVs. Last year we had T9 arms race and it was lots of fun for me. No CVs obviously. Then we had Ranked season 14: tier X with CVs allowed and Smolensk recently released. It was the first time I didnt enjoy playing Ranked. And now, we have the combination of CVs and arms race. And if CV games are dodged, I actually find it quite enjoyable. In short, I'm curious if you have a similar experience: arms race is actually fun, if there isn't any CVs around. Would you like arms race to return?

    First game in JB I did much better than Bourgogne with only a Zulu flag and almost 1 mio earned along with 2,8 bXP. It seems to rack up an amazing number of credits, very comparable to Missouri in fact. I also prefer it over Bourgogne. Maybe it's just a feeling, but Richeleu/JB seems a lot more agile than the slow fat bus that is called Alsace/Bourgogne

    Yeah I were thinking LM + smoke mod + SSE Minos. But with a few radars mixed in as area denial/comeback mechanic, since you might have to play aggressive and need a way to spot into the damned smokes. Not sure what captain...the one with Improved JoaT?

    Stalins are vulnerable to AP bombs. My bet is on 6 Minos with 4 smokes and 2 radars. Maybe Smolensks mixed in too.

  16. SO disgusted I'm at a loss for words. CBs with random CV and full 6 Minotaurs incoming (2 with radar). CV has no place in CBs. None. There will be no strategy anymore, just lemmingtrains or lemming pushes or smoke camping.

    1,7 km * 1,25 =2,13 km (regular vigilance, no module) 1,8 km * 1,25 = 2,25 km (regular vigilance, with module) Difference is 2,25 - 2,13 = 120m Difference with German captain is 135 m. This module is useless vs IJN and also French and PanEU torps which are too fast for the detection to matter.
  19. Wins earn 2500 xp plus there is a repeatable mission for FXP - can't rememeber, but something like 200%? Also, list a ship that really needs that 8th combat flag and can't get by with only 7? example, DDs: Speed, cooldown, heal and 2 fire% flags makes 5. Maybe flooding chance%, that's 6. Ramming is 7, if you really think you need it (hint: you do not!) I used the last slot for the Papa Papa flag.
  20. I had literally hundreds of economic flags lying around. (+50% xp and +300% fxp) Got a bunch of FXP in anniversary crates, plus i spent a bunch of the camo/dragon flags i got there on regrinding lines. Halloween event was also very good for farming FXP while farming the camos anyway. Doing operation Narai with Fiji, you can pretty much guarantee a win with ~2k base XP which overall is better than even Missouri can manage, since many games will be losses. Sims would probably earn even more, but doesnt have the same carry potential. Now add on premium account and camo/flags. With Spring sky camo and 6-8 XP/FXP flags that earns around 20-25k FXP per game. Regular random battles with Papa Papa and 200% xp boost (50% flag+100%camo+daily bonus) will commonly earn 1k-2k per game. Clan battles earns alot more, as do Ranked battles and I generally spam mostly those.

    Dont forget Smaland is the gate to unlocking a perma camo for Halland. Pay 92k doubloons nao if you want that 5000 doubloon camo available next month, plus early access. Very cheap comrade. Wouldn't surprise if it actually will sell a lot, considering the average intelligence displayed by my random battle teams And WG will be rubbing their hands while the lemmings feast. ~1400% profitmargin in just a month, all for the work of a single perma-camo repeated on a number of ships.
  22. Had a lot of time to play the last 3 months, which has just changed. Total 5 months: ~ from 2 to 4,5 mio FXP. Recent: ~400k / month because CBs, Ranked and I burned through a large store of PapaPapa flags and farmed in Narai. With Narai removed and flags exhausted, I dont see myself making more than 100-200k FXP / month, even if I kept up this high level og activity. Since that is unlikely and flags are much harder to come by....FXP is getting harder and harder to come by too. In short - no way I get Smaland the next 3 months.

    actually it does work on the 12 km shima torps. Those have a normal detection of 1,7 km, so the module + vigilance means spotting them an extra whopping 125 m further out

    Arms race as a separate game mode, got it. And I definitely agree it would be an interesting alternative to random battles. As long as CVs arnt involved, especially CVs with immortal planes due to healing buffs. I enjoyed the tier 9 a year ago and wouldn't mind it coming back occasionally as ranked for variety.

    Appreciate the improved communication, at least WG is trying to be open....But this has gotten way to complicated to bother working it out. I'm sure some neuropsychologists, marketing types and actual decent enthusiastic people got together to cook this up with a good intention. Unfortunately, this whole patch way too cute for its own good. Here's why (apologies for negative emotions) All i hear is: RNG boxes gets me a free tier 5 early access ship if i grind them all........*static screech of too complicated mission chain of RNG* RNG bundles, RNG boxes to get early access ships and sitting tied to a twitch chair for more RNG boxes (which is offensive enough, but it gets worse). Then some bit about permanent camouflages that requires the possesion of multiple ships in question and another complicated conditional puzzle to work out. I've solved university level quantum mechanic problems that were easier to work out than "what is the most likely price for this camo". Which is even worse than the PR event. At least we could calculate the(Obscene) price quite well, including the best ways to get a more "fair" price by grinding. I did Benham, PR and most of the legendary commander events, but this is too troublesome to even bother working out. Give me the exact drop chances for the RNG boxes and the bundles and maybe, maybe I would consider doing the statistical calculations involved and participate. Or maybe I'd solve the whole problem with some Free XP and a few doubloons for the relevant perma camouflages next patch. As it is, I'll give it a pass.
