    Albemarle - worst ship in the game? advice needed.

    It can do okay if top tier and allowed to fight 1v1. Sadly those games are rare with the quality of random team lemmings I've been blessed with. I got Drake and honestly I dont feel any difference going from Surrey to Drake except it's relatively even worse for its tier, if that is possible. Compare Drake to something like a Brindisi, and it's obvious how bad it is. Thank you for the vid. It looks like some of my better game where everything goes right and I'm top tier. I didnt consider bow-tanking and instead tried to kite, which is possibly my mistake. The firing angles on the front turrets are awful. Doesnt change the fact that if you have to spot for yourself, it's a losing proposition. And if more than one opponent can shoot you, its comletely lost. Which describes most of the games I had which were fast stomps due to friendly team imploding. Killing that Alabama cost both heals and any higher tier BB would have won the fight. Also the vid showed Albermarle will take citadels anyway despite being angled (like 4.30, again higher tier BBs will get more citas due to better disperson and frankly better players who can aim better).

    For making me realize how little I enjoy your game anymore and losing interest in it. Last patch / couple weeks, I've barely touched it since I just get fed up with Random battle teammate quality and lack of interesting content. Random battles feel like a chore unless i play OP things like tier 9 or 10 special/premium ships that can actually carry. There are no way to earn a reasonable amount of flags or camos as there used to be. No intermediate or achievable goals. Of course there is a big reward, but for the vast majority of players, it is not interesting since it is completely unachievable without a Smaaland (or insane doubloon investment). Every month since Christmas we've had this., and it feels like random battle quality have detiorated further still. Now I often see 300 IQ teams camping the spawn map border untill the reds wants to "win harder" and make an uncoordinated push. Sometimes they win, sometimes they lose. Its incredibly stale and frustrating to witness. WG could add Arms Race as permanent game mode Or add Scenario battles. Or add CB/Ranked. Or add special "new" game modes. I'll be on break untill next CB season and probably give CB with CVs one chance. If the game mode is ruined (as expected) by CVs and WG dont fix it again, the last enjoyable game mode will be gone. I pray this will not happen, because I enjoyed the game since release. Anybody else losing interest overall and in monthly missions in particular (they're not worth the effort anymore)?

    Fortunately I'm not participating. My frieds are bored with WOWs too. Will be playing some Borderlands 3 and then see. This exactly. I cant get my head around it either, and worse, I see no reason to play since I dont enjoy these games. The only classes that are still somewhat enjoyable and able to influence those games are DDs and CVs. Ufortunately it eventually gets boring to sit in smoke and spam (Smolensk, Kitakaze sisters) or spam torps (Benham).

    Since I have Moskva and already sold Donskoi, having to regrind the donskoi (which is NOT being replaced or moved) from stock would be a rather extreme punishment for not having the researched ship in port. Maybe @Crysantos can shed some light on this, since I cant imagine WG punishing players for sellling elited ships and forcing a regrind from stock condition. Having to buy the thing again, maybe. Not regrinding B hulls and such.

    Keep in mind the russian cruiser split will also see the tier 5 Kirov turn premium. Credits are always short from tier 8 onwards. Foue options: 1) if you want moskva, simply sell the tier 9 to buy the tier 10 once you have enough XP. You should have the extra credits from playing it. 2) Do as I did and get a premium ship of a class and style you like. I've since stopped playing Blyscawica since WG removed the very mechanic that made her good. 3) get a premium camo for tier 8 or 9. Sometimes they are available for 50%. Earns about half of what premiums earn, but you will know the ship in advance. 4) wait untill you have enough coal/fxp to buy a free premium in the armory, possibly combined with option 1. The tier 9s have the best credit earning potential.

    no thanks to more safety points. The game will drown in conquerors spamming he from the map border, as happened last time WG tried it. DDs can carry easily, if you dodge whenever CV is in the queue. Ranked out with 67% WR in Daring, with over 75% WR in the top bracket since there were less HE spamming geniuses.

    6.0-6.2, cant remember. Sometimes you are the only DD on the team and will have to do the spotting and capping. Having the stealth helps with that. Having RPF can probably substitute reasonably well. But if you are force to play DD style, a Lightning, Cossack, Kagero are both faster and around 1-1,5 km stealthier than 6,8 km and can keep you spotted all game long, whatever you try to do to shake them, since they're also faster. Not a problem if top tier, granted, since you can simply kill whatever they're spotting you for. But if it's a Smolensk, or enough ships start throwing shells at Aki...it doesnt dodge very well. If you decide to stick without CE i'll be curious how you deal with being the only DD. My experience with Kleber/Khaba is that it isnt fun.

    Grozovoi ....

    Surely not when you either sit 8-10 km away in smoke or zip around at 12+ km and actively turn to evade his shots..... As for firepower, Grozo can deal with any other DD including Khaba, Kleber and Harugumo if played properly and not ambushed (which shouldnt happen, since there is room for RPF in the build). Only Daring or full gunboat Gearing gives it problems. Harugumo and Kleber can be tricky though.

    CE is a must. Aki is slow as F and clunky too. Easy to permaspot for other DDs. IFHE is also a must imo. Farm BBs and also deck plate of tier VIII-X cruisers for the price of 2% fire chance is very, very worth it. Recommend to forget RPF if you are used to playing DDs. Turret travese is fast enough you dont need it. If you get a taste for farming BBs, AFT can be worth it, but personally i prefer max dakka with BFT + AR This is what i use

    Armory, for coal. And there is a lot of competition too. Its basically a long range HE spammer.

    Grozovoi ....

    All this grinding for RN Heavy cruisers i might never use And BBs i might never use. Grozovoi is a great DD and pretty competitive. Good blend of concealment, speed and guns, with a heal. Takes some getting used to if you are used to the nimble ones. If you want significantly more nimble dds with better stealth, then USN and UK dds are the only ones. All the others bar Shima are fairly big and clunky. Also it does not have citadel like Mino that starts somewhere above the funnel.

    Congrats with her. It's my favorite line to reset in the RB. Extremely reliable carry potential, very good general purpose guns that can take down any ship. Tier 8-10 are definitely the most fun little monsters in the game.

    Forget Azuma. Forget it even exists and if you want it, get the tier X Yoshino instead (comes with improved armor and torpedoes). Personally i hate Alaska with a passion, but it's probably due to small sample size. Guns have been very inaccurate and trolly in the few games i played compared to Stalingrad or Des Moines. Thus i play those instead. And Jean Bart, which can spank Alaska any day of the week. Friesland is fun if you enjoy spammy ships, but not the best for actual carrying due to poor concealment. However in CV games, it is so very satisfying to play, blasting entire squadrons out of the sky in seconds

So I'll try: Discuss (Bring out the Pitchforks) _________________________________________ Clan Battles From April 15 to June 8, the 9th season of Clan Battles will be held. Battles will be played on tier X ships of all classes in a 7 v 7 format. Due to the addition of aircraft carriers to this season of Clan Battles, we will introduce a new rule to limit the number of ships in battle: clans can go into battle with either 1 aircraft carrier or 1 battleship in the team. We understand that the appearance of aircraft carriers can greatly affect the gameplay in clan battles. Therefore, we will closely monitor the results of this season and, based on the results, we will decide on further steps in the development of the Clan Battles format. We would also like to mention that there won't be a discount on commander skills redistribution this season. This measure was required in previous seasons so that players could adjust their commanders' skills for battles where aircraft carriers were not a factor.
  20. Makes sense. It's a DD map and possible, BB map. I loved it in my DD. Permaspot the radar cruisers for the BBs to farm and profit. Not like Warriors path which is an umitigated nightmare as DD.

There are 3 relevant island areas to play around from the start (vertical arrows) and two for later (horisontalarrows) Usually I would go to the middle one in the beginning since you will always be relevant in that position. Depending on how the game developed and who takes control of which side of the map, the horisontal arrows are decent positions to farm any pushes by the reds and prevent them from crossing the middle chain. If you went with the lateral island chains, it is key to figure out if you have the numbers to push or have to play defensive or even abandon. Worst map this season was Warriors Path since they (fortunately) got rid of North and Crash Zone Alpha. Both suffer from having so many islands, you literally cannot push anywhere (or at most one predictable corridor), and the result is an extremely stale positional slugfest. Warriors path and Mountain range allows pushes in at least 2 positions, which is so much more fun.

    If going DE, you should try the PanEU captain with improved SE and DE. I know i've got him tucked away somewhere, will probably put him on the tier 6 when i get it. The guns didnt impress me much except for DD work. Might start fires, but the DD is slow and cant dodge very well.

    I built mine for torpedoes. No smoke means using guns is chancy, and the reload and arcs isn't all that great to begin with. Using my 19 point blysca captain works, but i think i respecced. I can't remember the exact build and whether I included EM for quality of life, but I think I went CE and SE, SI and TAE with LS and AR as two pointers. Some will probably make a case for RPF too.

    How to Amalfi

    no matter what i do, its impossible for me to make it work. 56% wr overall and the same in every other tier 8 cruiser, but Albemarle sits at 35ish %. It has absolutely zero carry potential if team fails.

    Amalfi is the first upgrade you get over the tier 5 montegiggolo, although it isnt very noticable. The SAP can actually scratch BB paint. As others have said play flanks and shadow dds when they try to cap, use smoke to disengage or shoot up enemy dd if spotted and be careful with smoke firing penalty. Focus DDs and cruisers. Last: be happy it isn't the Albermarle.
