    You think 70 knots (or 75 with TA) are slow? Shima with F3s can reach 80 knots (85 with TA, but then only 6,4 km range). I'm regularly one-shotting Smolensks and Minotaurs with those (and they have hydro). Fastest in the game is Halland which can reach 95 knots, but those do so little damage its a joke compared to IJN long lances. I'm still enjoying IJN DDs and regularly regrinding them. Shima is a monster played right (its used at the highest level in competitive too, that should tell you something). Like PanEU DDs, they're not beginner friendly in the current CV infested, radar infested and HE spammer infested times. But they do have smoke and thus are easier to use. Don't go for caps, ever. Expect an enemy DD is there, always, and trying to kill you, then figure out how to kill it before capping (hint: concealment) or even better: kill the support (radars) first by permaspot and torps. Be patient. Many of my games I dont get a single torpedo hit, I just let my team kill enemy DDs (or kill them myself). IJN dds have the best stealth in the game to play around their weak gunpower. And they have VERY hard hitting guns situated in the back and well suited to kiting. They sit low in the water, offering very little profile to incoming shells and can dodge surprising amounts of incoming fire. Use D+S actively to dodge fire and you can beat any chasing DD including Royal Navy. Currently on regrinds I run TA + Torpedo module in slot 3 for an extra 8-9 knot speed on the torps. Result: 8 km range and 75 (!) knot torpedoes. If you can't land those, go practice your prediction skills (hold the launch untill you are sure what enemy will do) Combined with narrow spreads and launching from 6 km range, you murder BBs and sometimes cruisers too. Even (non USN/RN) DDs will have trouble dodging the torpedoes IF you have good prediction skills and bait them in with your juicy defenceless IJN DD booty. And if not, permaspotting is an option. Or engage while kiting away if you have to. This. And not just cap contesters. Anti-DDs too. I agree the gunboat line is more reliable for carrying games, but have you ever tried running TA and Torpedo Tubes Mod 1? All you need is 8 km range.
  2. I agree with reservations. Yes the data will be available, but videos are much more accessible for a larger audience. I admit it's the attempt to suppress information that naturally bias me against it.

  4. 1. True 2. Not fake no. WG genuinely and very blatently put themselves in hot water repeatedly and want to prevent CCs from publicly calling them on their BS. 3. Yes it will, since the kind of data we get will be different. The audience that don't like to study excel sheets and tables will get less, and the rest will get no gamleplay and no context for the data.
  5. I'm quitting WoWs when soviet cruisers arrive. This powercreep BS has gone on too long and if CCs are now forbidden even from calling WGs blatant BS, well. The only (soviet) realism left in this game is information suppression. A classic mistake of comparing apples to oranges. That thing is a premium ship, so in contrast to every ship you mentioned except Benham, it gets to stay broken forever. Also almost all of those ships have already been nerfed / currently more nerfs coming. Meanwhile, from the raw stats, that thing is a tier X dressed up as tier VIII. It's the same tier as a bloody Hipper, yet outstats it in every category but gun calibre. It will see tier VI for Christ sake.

    I do the same. And yes I've also considered range mod, but most of those speshul games are lost regardless, so I stick with the DPM. Only need another 4k base xp for the LM, then Hindi will go back to the mothballs since I prefer DDs and BBs over CAs.

    I fought another NC later that day and didnt get citas despite him showing plenty of only slightly angled side. The other guy was flat broadside reversing out behind an island (dont ask). Maybe RNGesus was drunk that game. As for Reload, you are correct (0,6s but whatever). Do you use range mod on Hindi? Since it can run spotter plane while Moskva cant (unless meme builds) I'd expect Moskva to be the one running range mod, if one of them would.

    No idea about Vladi, but I citadelled broadsiding NC reliably around 10-11 km yesterday (i remember being very surprised). Also Hindi reload is pretty good compared to something like moskva, so even without citas, slamming 10k so volleys out every 7s tend to deplete BB hp fast. @Op: get it, it is still very fun and enjoyable and has tools for any range. Got kraken in it just yesterday plus another 4 kill game. No other ship can do so hilarious things like I yesterday - rush a yamato from cover and torp it, then around island 2 km away on the other side torp a Baltimore, while NC 2 km behind him blasts away untill I turn and unload the now reloaded starboard torps into him. 3 kills in less than 2 minutes. And that was after sinking 2 dds early using the 6 km hydro and disengaging.
  11. +1 for making the effort. An increase in AA effectiveness is called for. The suggestions are a step in the right direction, although I'm left wondering how much time it will take to switch sectors. Also, exact values will no doubt have to be tweaked. additional suggestions 1. Planes should not have access to the detection symbol. It would make finding DDs harder, and that is called for. 2. DFAA should make aiming near impossible while active and sector activated, thus denying strikes. Remove the damage multiplier and make it about denial. This also makes it work for DDs.

    Good suggestion, I absolutely agree. Ranked games are far more fun than randoms, mostly because it is much easier to influence the battle result. Hell, it's actually possible to get all 7 kills and it should be easier to keep up with the suicides. Stomps might not be less prevalent, but at least you have a chance to counterplay instead of getting zeroed. Maps currently are very crowded with 12 ships and at least 5 BB, which results we all know: camping (if not lemmingtrains) With fewer players, there will openings for DDs and CAs to sneak through and the battles would become more mobile. The only downside would be CVs might be too powerful for such a game mode. Examples: North and Two Brothers as tier X maps. There are 2/3 BBs on each flank, more than enough to crossfire the ever living daylights out of the poor cruisers. What would happen if instead there would be only one?

    Just want to add: Thanks WG for listening (even by accident) and 1. making a campaign 2. that is here for 6 months and not some crazy directive race 3. has reasonable mission requirements and actual useful intermediate rewards like 10-30 flags and various FXP and even coal/steel 4. some smaller but still useful final reward that isn't a tier X camo/ship. This is much more true to the original spirit of WoWs missions from years past, which is an enjoyable slowpaced grind game where playing a game or three each day is enough to obtain the final reward.

    European DD Verdict?

    Tried tier V+VI: I prefer them over the french, but that's not saying much, and I expect I'll prefer the high tier french DDs over these things. They've got servicable guns and god-tier maneuverability which will likely make them semi-viable even at higher tiers where ability to dodge incoming fire makes or breaks if for DDs. Or it would, if not for two downsides. 1) No smoke to dodge CVs and cap, and 2) No reliable way to output damage and get kills if the tier V+VI are anything to go by. They also might be a tad too strong as anti-DD platforms, which is balanced by being fairly useless against anything else that isn't a dumb CV. Also contratry to all other DD lines, they're pathetic when bottom tier. Lacks torpedo damage to yolo / make enemy CAs/BBs actually notice it when they eat a torpedo or two.

    Not even 60 FXP, more like 10-20 If you grinded the Vesterås permacamo. There is literally NO reason to waste gold on this one because of the requirement to grind the camo after getting the ship will almost net enough xp for the next dd in line. Ended on tier 6 and 360 tokens after 36 EU crates, with a tempting 250 token bundle for 1k doubloons which just barely would get me the tier 7.

    Flooding.

    Been playing Shima, Hindi, Drake and Vesterås lately and I can tell you there has been no change. Bow or stern hit = 100% flooding. Torp belt = no flood. Same as its been since 0.8.0. Also i almost lied. Didnt know I'd gotten it post 0.8.0, and guess which class.....*drumroll* I dont see any change (see above), but we can always hope. Best bet is probably playing Hosho and deliberately not killing BBs as fast as you can

    Flooding.

    okay. As it happened, I did. They were quite farmable, especially against nations with short action time of DCP. Just send 2 torp waves with >10s between....easy permaflood and bye bye BB :) I havnt noticed any difference in the amount of floodings after CV rework, but I find Liquidators impossible to get. Floodings strictly depend on which part of a ship you hit. Bow or stern = always flood. And you hit those quite often.

    No, they're disabled indefinitely. Not according to the 9.3 patch notes. Only surface ships LUs will be available. Maybe we will know more by the time of 9.5. @Tanatoy @MrConway @Crysantos Can you guys shed light on whether CV LMs are coming (if you are allowed), and if not, can you say if they're missing by mistake in 9.3 patch notes?

    I don't see any Liquidator achievements. Guess floodings remain a minor inconvenience like fires. (you probably just happened to hit a lot of bow/stern parts of ships which always cause floodings)

    Didnt bother with it. I'm not spending more doubloons on WG before they lower the rewards and grinds o every patch to something normal people can do in a month.

    I love DDs so I will likely get her regardless. But between something like a Kleber, Harugumo and Daring, I'm not really convinced Marceau has a role, except as long range HE slinger (thus =khabarovsk 2.0)

    So it even got its arcs nerfed? Why can't we have a decent coal DD. Seems it's Khabarovsk 2.0 with better 6,8 km stealth, shitty shell arcs and 9 km 60 knot slowpoke torpedoes. Might get it since the alternatives are Thunderer and Georgia and I dont care for tier X BBs port queens

    Oh I saw that. No way to know how built up the clan base is though. Dont think there has ever been 50% discount in WoWs. 20% yes, maybe even 30%.
