9.6 brings permaflages for all tier X german ships (for tokens)
GulvkluderGuld replied to GulvkluderGuld's topic in General Discussion
Depends on the player i suppose. I hate coop, nothing is worse than that. Only missions I use it for are farming wins and particularly stupid missions like 4000 secondary hits and possibly torpedo hits which are very unpredictable in randoms. -

Maybe he thinks Coop grinding gets boring through repetition fast - because it does. I play to have fun. Grind isn't fun. Even getting 15 wins for Legendary missions in coop makes me cringe. I usually do 1 each day only to get it over with. -
Statistical analysis: how many games it takes to reach Rank 1
GulvkluderGuld replied to CapHastings's topic in General Discussion
1) Numbers clearly show Ranked is skillbased since WR is crucial. Math dont lie (although interpretations might). 2) There is a limit to how bad a player can be and still lose his way to R1. If that limit is around 1000-1500 battles, then it corresponds to a WR around 47-48%. (this season, the player with the highest battle count to reach R1 was 1511 battles with 47,5% WR - has random WR 56%) TL;DR: Ranked is a skill based grind. -
Upgrade slot 3 on CAs – Aiming Systems or Main Battery?
GulvkluderGuld replied to TeaAndTorps's topic in General Discussion
Generally turret traverse on most CAs, especially middle tiers. Cruisers have inherently good dispersion, so accuracy does very little for them, while bringing guns to bear faster can be the difference between getting a shot of or not (spotted dd, broadside cruiser). Exceptions being some tier X cruisers (russians) and expecially supercruisers. -

Statistical analysis: how many games it takes to reach Rank 1
GulvkluderGuld replied to CapHastings's topic in General Discussion
I love these statistics! It must have taken a while for you to organise it so neatly! Also good call to include the Random winrate column (at least I assume it that) to the far right. So from R10 upwards, the average random battle winrate is higher than on the previous rank? That might support my theory. -

GulvkluderGuld replied to CapHastings's topic in General Discussion
Carrying as Rank 6 or 7 is harder than 9 or 10. Same for Rank 2 or 3. Ranks actually mean something on average for players skill. Whatever it might seem like, the higher ranked players tend to play better. As R6, getting matched with 6 rank 10 players usually means having to carry 6 braindead lemmings. As R10, getting matched with 5 R10 and one R6 player means you might have an ally carrying 5 braindead lemmings. TL;DR: Usually the lowest rank players are of lower skill or unaware of the meta in the bracket due to having just moved up. The more of them on your team, the harder it is to carry and the more often you will lose. -
What purchases have you enjoyed the most?
GulvkluderGuld replied to NothingButTheRain's topic in General Discussion
Jean Bart, with Benham as close second. The only two ships I really bother playing anymore. For cash the best I bought is Belfast, but it's not nearly as fun. -

If it's the usual WG stuff it's gonna be like.... Buy cheap 500 doubloon RNG bundle containing premium german box with very reasonable 0,00001% chance of giving you special mission to kill 100 CVs with tier X IJN DDs. Easy comrade! You only have to do the 100 times to get enough tokens for a permaflage! -

Great work So basically our 45% wr glue sniffers ranking out with 1k games would have to save a LOT of stars. -
Asymmetric CV games returning when? On topic this could be fun as a nostalgic game mode for all the OP sealclubbing ships to duke it out (as long as CVs and subs are banned - except if they're RTS CVs).

To be fair this LM was considered among the best ones and a nerf is well deserved. The extra main battery traverse nerf sesms a bit harsh though.
-
I use my Zao captain on the Yoshino. RPF is very handy. Dont see FP being much use since Yoshinos main weakness is eating tonnes penetration damage (both HE and AP) if hit. Thus is it played at long range and fires simpy dont contribute much. RPF is better, since it helps a lot for simply going dark if the pressure gets high. fixed

What is your biggest purchase regret! (edited)
GulvkluderGuld replied to Mad_Dog_Dante's topic in General Discussion
Got my worth out of Blyscawica back when it was the sh*t. Same with tier X permacamos, although the YY nerf came fast. Murmansk is my biggest waste of hard earned doubloons. I loved Omaha, but this was right before german BBs came out and changed the meta. Never played it again. But my biggest regret? That is not refunding the Saipan after the CV rework. -
Don't buy permaflages, ever. WG just nerfs the ship to oblivion later and the ressources are wasted. Happened with - Worchester - Yue Yang - Henri IV - Daring (nerfed last 3 patches)
-
Daring is the best tier X dd. Defensive DD hunter, lots of smokes for dealing with CV and on-the-move pew-pew, single launch torps for bowtankers. Grozo: can play open water gunboat or as a poor mans Daring Harder to play: Kleber is likely the most fun as ambusher, can also play open water gunboat. Not very forgiving due to bad stealth and no smoke. Is a CV snack. Friesland: think kitakaze without torpedoes and 1/4 pen in exchange for hydro and actual AA. Monotonous Halland: no idea, but the tier 5-8 are bad at carrying games and best FXP'ed due to lackluster torpedoes - and cant shoot down planes even 2 tiers lower. Smaland: no idea, but if radar YY is anything to go by it offers a unique playstyle.

What would be the best choice for upcoming T8 ranked?
GulvkluderGuld replied to luokailk's topic in General Discussion
Yeah I've got one, and I dont expect it to be too effective. With CVs and 12 km radars already in play, positioning is going to be so defensive that fights will be in akizukis terms eg. inside friendly radar zones. two LYs blocking the same cap and hydroing each other is a thing of the past - CVs will arrive in the middle of the staring contest and enact a rocket-propelled feeding frenzy. -

GulvkluderGuld replied to luokailk's topic in General Discussion
Akizuki and no caps kill all mentality. No other DD can match it's dps, no other DD can fight it 1v1 and with AFT it outranges the radar pests WG is busy introducing. Going to be regrinding IJN gunboats anyway If the going gets hard, there is always Saipan or silver CVs to fall back on, but fighting CV unicums all the time is actually challenging. -
Since last module revamp it can mount the radar module in slot 2 for an additional 5s of radar. Now my Belfast isn't underperforming anymore. Went from R4** to R1 in one fell swoop. Not that I complain, but was that buff really necessary?

Thank you WG for buffing Belfast
GulvkluderGuld replied to GulvkluderGuld's topic in General Discussion
30s radar means getting 4 volleys instead of 3. Plus more time for the team. Several of my 110 ranked games that extra volley would have secured me the kill. Hydro module is interesting if you have trouble with torpedoes. I wasn't torped in my belfast except when hydro was running and i were caught broadside reversing, so not useful (for me). Engine module and damage control systems are about as useful as tits on a fish (thanks Jingles). If you're getting shot at enough to need those, something went horribly wrong and you are probably dead. Think of Belfast as a DD with radar and no torps. Away go all your trepedation -

GulvkluderGuld replied to GulvkluderGuld's topic in General Discussion
Yes and no (but mostly yes). Getting to R5 was a real struggle. It was only after R5 when players got good enough to not all lemming and die in 5 mins that I could carry. Wondered about that and was too lazy to look it up. Belfast does not seem weak to me though. Nice to see WG maintaining their premiums in peak shape. -
I can sympathize. This late in the season the teams are almost as bad as Random battles unless you play > R5 and outside prime time. The difference was very noticeable once I got out of R5-R10 bracket a few days ago, which consisted of endless lemmingtrain BBs and suicidal DDs. Even R5+ in prime time, there were lemmingtrains and lemmingtrains. It was only now, playing late night that most BBs passed the 100 IQ BB test of splitting up. Result? 14 wins in a row from 4** to R1 in one fell swoop. And no, more irrevocable ranks is not the solution. Rather, opposite in fact. Last time WG made R5 irrevocable, the Random battle zombies made it there in force and even the top league became full of unplayable lemming teams.

More details on changes of Unique Upgrades

thank you I know that. I have the Haku LM and are halfway to midway LM. But they are not mentioned by WG at all in the list of remaining LMs in the dev post. -
Bethesta: Look we abused our players so much they created a hate-parody website of out new game. ITS FREE PR AND THEY STILL PLAY IT. WG: Free bad PR and profitable costumer exploitation? Hold my beer!

GulvkluderGuld replied to Tanatoy's topic in Development Blog
Thank you. I hope WG keep in mind that they have not been mentioned at all (afaik) in all the posts regarding the big LM rework. That could leave players in doubt as to whether they have a future, eg "ships" as you write should be interpreted as a narrow implicit "(surface) ships" - excluding CVs and Subs.
