Some people, amazingly, are willing to give WoWs the benefit of the doubt and accept the apology.... Really? Then why have they not fixed the issues? read this and UNDERSTAND.... advertising an "event" where you could win a ship to get the hype and sell bogus boosters is one thing,... but then making it impossible to win is illegal. Making claims that its "entirely possible" and then "possible" to win the ship for free is illegal when it turns out that if you REALLY want it (and to keep your families happy) then you're going to have to BUY the end result.... Its also dishonest to have made people grind a ship and then charge them MUCH more than a completed ship they wouldn't have to grind... Look at the facts. Community Contributors based some of their claims tht the ship was entirely winnable based on the test server.... WoWs did and said NOTHING to dispel the misleading information. When the event was announced, certain words were used and when the crap hit the fan, these words were changed..... They MUST have known that no one would abandon their families to grind this ship, they knew that and made the targets impossible to attain.... They said sorry... for being found out to have broken the law, no doubt, but the commerce watchdogs will want to see how WoWs fixes this, so far, nothing, it means the apology is worthless... WoWs MUST have known before the scandal broke that getting the PR for free would be night on impossible.... OK... possible.... but you'd still have to pay... So either they thought everyone was STUPID.... or they just didn't care!!!! (or both) I am through trusting ANYTHING WoWs ever says again, and most of all, I'm just going to totally ignore that drop kick Sub_Octavian. He either HYPES things too much OR says sorry .... total waste of time. I'm hoping the day they are sued by various nations (and the E.U.) comes soon.... not even the fact that they are based in a tax haven of Cyprus will save them... ironic that Cyprus is where mobsters are based and crooks hide their money... But NO FAITH in WoWs to do the right thing any more... the goodwill they had is GONE.... frittered away by one lie or one mistake too many. In the new year, when my Premium time here is used up... I'll play War Thunder for free.... and Kerbal Space Program as version 2.0 of the game is coming out.... Given that WoWs abuses us paying customers all the time, I might even look at getting legal advice about selling my account.... I mean, if WoWs can do stuff... then we should be allowed to do stuff too... right?

Well, YES.... why not? They would rather we spent time away from our families grinding an impossible ship so THEY wish nothing GOOD for our families. Giving the crap this time of year is just as good as receiving it.... they wished bad for our families, I wished the same for their families... right? Isn't THAT fair?

Its "entirely possible" that they will fix it, but possible they won't.... Its "entirely possible" they really do care and possible they really are sorry. Its also entirely possible that, in the real spirit of Christmas, they give all players 1 million doubloons for being so very dishonest... But none of that is really "entirely possible"... which is par for the course as far as WoWs is concerned... in other words, entirely impossible.

So, its 8:30am here in Holland and I'm sitting alone at the computer, the only one up is the cat who demanded I feed him, and now demands I let him out... (be right back...) I'm back... where was I? OH YES.... I was thinking about this for the past few hours while waiting for the alarm to go off and what I should do because of my Terminal Lung Cancer. I use caps on the first letter of that because really, its the BIG "C" right? Anyhow... the wording WoWs used (then changed) from "entirely possible" to just "possible" is dishonest. I suspect a case of fraud *COULD* be levelled at WoWs but ... its "entirely possible" that a decent lawyer will come along and take them to Court in a class action for anyone that lost money to this scam.... entirely possible... but very unlikely.... JUST LIKE Aliens could appear on Earth today and actually be peaceful.... just highly unlikely. Its "entirely possible" that today I could be offered a free holiday on the International Space Station.... just.... again... highly impossible. Now, I didn't lose any money on this event, and I gave reasons why to didn't spend money... after I am gone, my wife will need that money... right..... What I am complaining about is the impossible grind.... well, step back, the whole event... WoWs has (supposedly) said "sorry" but how genuine is that apology when they have refused to fix the crap that got them into this position. Its the same when they announced the CV rework... to the hard core CV playing fanatics of WoWs they said... "sorry"... but screwed them over none the less, then made a fortune selling the "World of Carrier planes" option to the kiddies with attention spans of a flea on heat who were crying that they could figure out how to play the C&C style games... they made a little bit of a profit.... people blamed Sub Octavian and right so, but now... where has the anger gone? If you accept their apology time and time again... then an apology becomes worthless... they will do things to screw you time and time again... "sorry... lets move on... will we fix it? NO! But hey... sorry!" They said sorry and that is it. No refunds... no fix to the grind.... just another WORTHLESS apology.... from the likes of Sub Octavian who cannot be trusted to tell the truth because that is the person he is. Can WoWs be trusted to tell the truth ever? NO! BUT... some will argue, it is their company, they can do what they want, its still free to play..... YES, but that doesn't give them the right to lie and cheat and scam people... "free to play" doesn't mean a licence to steal money. The so called "Christmas Event" where they wished us a Merry Christmas is a time of giving... even THAT was raped by WoWs, used as the bait to lure suckers who trusted Christmas... Santa should sue them. Maybe WoWs should consider SACKING the people responsible for this mess? So what if its Christmas, did they consider that when coming up with this scam? Anyhow.... this long winded letter is just my way of saying..... "Its entirely possible" that I will continue playing after the new year, but hey, this is the joke.... WoWs.... there is no way I can see myself playing even now... screw you. An apology is followed by steps to fix the thing you are saying sorry for... if not, then the apology is meaningless... and you are saying you WANT to screw all the people ALL the time. I hope people learn this lesson and ALL the previous lessons.... apologies from WoWs are worthless... refuse to accept them, because if you don't then you're going to be complaining till the day you die and it won't matter... the crooks will just do it again and again and again.... they do NOT CARE because they love MONEY more than you or your families.... this event is the proof. If you are subscribed to any Community Contributor... then unsubscribe. WoWs has proven they will use them to play the long con... they cannot be trusted to have ALL the information they need to be honest with us. Follow "Sea Lord Mountbatten" who isn't a C.C. and does his best to tell the truth.... Lastly... yes, WoWs is free to play, but this in itself is another "long con"... not many have the time to play without paying for Premium time... its another "entirely possible" con..... yes, its entirely possible to play WoWs and get a T10 ship and take part in directives and missions and win..... just highly unlikely.... respect to ANYONE that hasn't paid a cent to them IF they have been playing for over a year. I started playing soon after the game started.... I signed up for all four servers... but I play mainly on the North American server where I have a fleet of about 128 ship, and with the coupon, was going to get the Smolensk this time along with the Polish ship.... AND.... capping it off with the Gorgonzola or Gonorrhoea or whatever its called.... it was "entirely possible" for me to accomplish this... till I saw that ... directive number 2, means I have to earn 42,000,000 credits or some such. I won't be playing much at all any more, I am tired of being lied to by WoWs so when my premium time is gone... so am I. I won't cry over the small fortune I sunk into this game over the years but will use it as a lesson to my utter stupidity and as a guide to how LOW people who work for WoWs can sink to for pure greed. Merry Christmas and have a happy new year everyone.... except WoWs staff... I wish nothing but pain for you and your families... and I hope 2020 is the year they take you down.

During WW2, the Australian warship, Sydney, spotted what appeared to be a spotter plane while escorting other ships in the Mediterranean... so they opened fire... expending about 10% of its entire store of ammo.... Then, a British ship told them to cease fire as the Planet Venus, which they were trying to shoot down... was out of range... True story. Sadly, the Aussie ship was sunk by a German "Q" ship off the Australian coast, however, The German ship was also sunk. You never heard about that? well, bigger news got in the way... The Japanese had bombed Hawaii.

I agree. I am a player AND I have Terminal Lung Cancer. I have already decided to tell WoWs where to stick this event and while I will grind the Gorgonzola or the Gonorrhoea or whatever its called, that is it... I will not shell out any more money to WoWs, my wife will need it for my funeral... and the time... is better spent with her and our cat over the holidays... you see, 8 months ago, we moved from New Zealand to Holland so I could see my homeland before I die, I went to NZ as a baby and never saw Holland till I arrived here 8 months ago... all my friends and family are still in New Zealand... so if WoWs thinks I'm going to insult my wife by playing a game on Christmas day for some crappy ship... then they are more deluded than I thought they were. Merry Christmas everyone.... except WoWs staff... you deserve all you get....

WoWs said SCREW YOU to the player base.... they th8ink letting people vent and giving it time and players will vent.... no... because WoWs bosses will stat crapping themselves when people refuse to pay for anything... out of fear they will yet again be conned.... Effectively.... 2020 will be the year the player base tells WoWs to shove it. Numerous people have already complained to their nations commerce watchdogs.... lets see if THEY think a half assed apology is enough? Problem is... WoWs already has a very bad reputation with so many people.... I remember when WoWs took TWO payments out for a ship I purchased... when I asked for the money back, they said no, so I said I'd cancel the payment.... They then said they would LOCK my account if I did that... even though they were stealing from me... funny right... so .... is it then fair for the WoWs crooks to say "we will offer refunds in Doubloons only" (if that ever happens for the PR debacle) .... answer... NO! This world wide scam in taking peoples money then offering "refunds" in a non currency called doubloons was always going to be a very special case for the commercial watchdogs.... You know what will happen right? Wows will pay any and all fines then take it out on the player base with higher prices.... I know for a fact that the Belgian commercial watchdogs already view things like "premium santa crates" as gambling...as is it being illegal to not advertise the odds of winning OR making sure minors do not purchase these "gambles"... And when WoWs goes down... will the player base have any sympathy for them? NO! As it should be.

WoWs proves yet again they are the GRINCH of Christmas... they both wish everyone a Merry Christmas and then extend the old middle finger at them at the same time. While a few.... suckers.... will buy the PR.... I'm guessing its an all hype ship and they will sink faster than the infamous CV rework. They fill NO ONE with confidence over the addition of Subs to the game... I'm guessing even now, they will be looking for suckers to give them new n00b cash cows as new players... expect a few trinkets to entice the player base to help them screw people for money.... maybe, get 1000 suckers to sign up to the game and when 100 of those have spent $100 then you'll get a ..... PR ship as reward????? Wait????? Too soon? I can see many people saying screw this game and spending time with their families... can anyone blame them? This is a hole WoWs dug for itself... and its not the first "grave of shame" they have dug since they started. What they need to do is hire a few people to manage their PR.... hmmm... Public Relations (funny, both the ship and PR are different things) and not allow idiots to think up their "give always".... for starters, making sure they are not scammers in a previous job might do it.... But have you all noticed.... WoWs is again too gutless to face the critics here... rather keep silent... probably looking for new scams to inflict on people.... Come out WoWs... grow a pair and explain yourselves.... if you can. Maybe a refund in REAL money and a REAL apology and a FX for the impossible "holiday" grind competition? Christmas is for spending with friends and family... not grinding an impossible mission because you want them to buy yet anther DUD ship.... WoWs must be very lonely people to think up a harsh soul destroying punishment like this.. WORSE... assuming most of us can afford a luxury few hundred Euros when the money is needed for other things....

BTW, yet again, another reason for the community to establish a "community association" to argue the player bases grievances. They do this because they can... arrogantly so.... but what if there was an independent association not connected to WoWs to argue our anger.... All I see here are many people speaking with individual voices when we should all be speaking with one voice... they cannot ignore us then...

Yet again, money grubbing WoWs shows its ugly side... they have NO CONCEPT of tact... or what it is like to be living on "struggle street'... players are AGAIN viewed as a CASH COW! Think back to last year.... they delayed the "ship coupon" for five days to give those that hadn't used it a chance to use it... while those who HAD used it, were insulted by being good players and using them.... 5 days!!!! That means that a person who doesn't care about the game who NEVER used his coupons could, in theory, (not having used any coal) purchased ONE ship with a coupon and then the very next day, when a new coupon was issued, buy another ships... effectively they were rewarded for being lazy ignorant stupid players.... those loyal players had to wait... when this was pointed out to WoWs, they never said sorry... they made patronising remarks about "Don't worry XXXX, you ship will still be there nice and safe in X days"... the idea of a coupon ANYWHERE, except at WoWs, is redeem BEFORE it expires.... But hey... since when did WoWs ever care? Either they don;t say sorry.... or they do... thing is, I'm old enough to know that if I accepted that apology, then they will do it again because a sorry will fix it... The arrogance must end. They should appreciate the player base more rather than try to STEAL money from them with their con games.... did they honestly think we wouldn't notice? SO MANY screw ups, so many apologies and it won't stop... they have NO RESPECT for the player base... if they did, then all the mistakes over the past few years wouldn't have been made. And amazingly.... when a post like this appears, made by staff... that is the LAST TIME you will see them here... they don't want to know what the community feels yet again and the latest screw up. Its a place for us to vent. WoWs, grow a pair. You screwed up... now fix it.... people paid with real money so they should be refunded with real money.... One last thing.... why??? WHY?????? Why create such a complicated grind for a two bit crappy ship when people have lives and families to spend the holidays with... or were you counting on this? People decide to spend time with loved ones and decide to0 BUY their way to the P.R.????? Yeah.... this time, an apology will not cut it. Pretty sure the affected won't bother playing any more... and really... WoWs, deep down, can you blame them? You are dishonest, cruel and in love with the money you THINK people will pay for a ship.... NO... they would rather spend it on their LOVED ones.... and no one loves crooks... WoWs.... NO ONE! EDIT: Added this after reading it... I wonder how long EU WoWs will take to ban me form the forums for being TOO HONEST and making these statements? They banned me from the NA forums over the CV rework... YES, I think they are THAT dishonest.

I still th8ink its impossible to get rank 1 unless you are super lucky and such an awesome player that you can not only carry your own team, but yourself as well and win game after game with the odd loss.... You are one of a team.... if the team sucks... then play as well as you can, you're still going to waste your time. This is why people give up. there should be a better way of determining ranks other than winning. I find it strange that WoWs can rank a player when so much depends on TEAM work. Sure, top 2 players don't lose a star... but even so... How can you win when as soon as an enemy ship spots you, they reverse and fire all the time... very historical NOT... very realistic, NOT... I think ranks are now a waste of time... and don't get me started on the "other" team abusing "my" team with insults and taunts.... I don't need that crap. Its just more proof that the game is slowly dying...

Wow, what have I walked into? Firstly, comparing ships is pointless. Secondly, insulting individual ships is pointless. Is the Genova bad? DEPENDS! If you are attacking a DD and he is side on to you... maybe, beware torpedoes. But you should be able to hold your own from a short or medium distance. If you are attacking a BB.... etc etc etc... you're going to be dead fast.... Reality is.... the ship you drive is only a small part of the puzzle. Other considerations are; 1) Who YOU and what you are like as a player... 2) Who is driving the ship attacking you... 3) the type and tier of the ship being driven by the person attacking you... 4) The driver of the other ship, what is his game style and is he experienced in the type of ship he is driving... No two games are EVER alike, this is why you cannot... no, SHOULD not compare ships EVER! Navy Captains will tell you that a ship is like a woman, you want to drive her and survive, then you have to "know" her... what her advantages are, situation to avoid... etc etc etc. If you "hate" a ship and think its the worst EVER in the game, then I'd suggest THAT ship is not for you. Maybe a big easy BB is more to your taste, sniping from the edge of the map? Point is... two people, one will love a ship the other hate it. You hate it, then fine... sell it, get one you DO like. This is why I have no sympathy for those that rushed out and purchased the latest ship after WoWs hypes it with "ITS HERE!!!" advertising. Y'know, use your brains, watch a YOUtube video from a CC that you respect to get their opinion on it... say, Sea Lord Mountbatten, Jingles, Notser etc etc... they will TELL you if its a good ship or not and explain to you why you may not like it.... BUT..... here is the but.... Most of us EARNED our Genova for FREE... as such, its a gift that cost me nothing and I'm not going to bad mouth a gift... (I actually LIKE the ship, it has the lines and curves of a thoroughbred horse...) If you cannot handle it... then sell it and keep the port slot. simple. Little true story: I hated DD's so much, I'd never last long in them, till, for a competition, I had to drive them and nothing else... now I love them all... I adapted to them, they will NEVER adapt to you. my opinion, take it or leave it. Happy trails one and all.

I hate people who want to debate based on "my [edited] is bigger than yours"... just take his word for it and leave the stats out of it.

The game would have to look up each logo and display it given the changing angles and wot not... it would slow the game down for some, graphics wise.

Firstly, I used to play of all four servers, but since being diagnosed with Terminal Lung Cancer AND Moving from New Zealand to The Netherlands, I've cut that down massively. I also only play Co-Op these days for a few very simple reasons. I don't need the stress of all the abuse that happens in Random or Ranked. I do however play the odd mission and, yes, even ranked. On the North American server, I have a fleet of 129 ships of all tiers, 1- 10 EXCEPT a few T2 or T3 ships. Now.... to the problem... The last few updates saw WoWs fiddle with the sounds to make them better and broke them! Then they fixed them. They seem to think the ships horn is a toy BUT skippers like me that keeps an eye on the enemy ships AND the allied players to avoid being rammed, I sound the horn till its out of steam and they just cannot hear it... this is a vital system to *AVOID* my being fined for a collision I did not initiate... It is unfair to fine BOTH the offender and the victim for this especially when I (at least, and sure others are as well) do what we can to avoid and warn those that just do not care OR are new to the game. But its worse than that... the robotic players, BOTS... are so badly coded they are in need of a revamp. Bots actively try to ram allied players, worse, fire torpedoes at allied players... this is dishonest on the part of WoWs because it costs money to send a ship out... and this isn't any accident... for example, enemy BB is NORTH of me, in between, travelling east to west is an allied DD bot... no other ships even NEAR that particular cap. The Bot will fire his torpedoes SOUTH towards me, not north towards the enemy. This teaches new players that its OK to fire torps are allies, right? Most bot allies will rush out and ram enemy ships. Fastest game I've ever had with this occurring is under 5 minutes. What does THAT teach new players? WORSE... an allied Bot will snuggle up to an enemy bot ship and rather than fire at each other, being feet apart, will fire at other ships further away... so if I fire and hit an ally, I get made pink.... this is so unfair. When a bot attacks an allied human or bot player, they get made pink, but not for two games, JUST for that game. Meanwhile.... the Game Devs stole half my ships health.... is that fair? The state of the AI used in Co-Op play is poor, very poor. It needs to be tweaked, and I know many will say "so what, its only Co-Op play" but I care, and I am tired of the new people torping me because they couldn't acer less that I was in their line of fire and their excuse is "Its only Co-Op play...." and worse "The Bots do that all the time". To date, WoWs has screwed with the sounds, and ruined them, screwed with the CV's and killed them... but what they are not focussing on are the REAL problems and REAL bugs that exist in the game. Maybe people would actually STAY loyal to the game if WoWs did more to fix bugs than adding more content.... The Tech Deficit in this game is high, that is a situation where more and more bugs creep in and are not fixed because they Devs are busy adding more content AND "fixing sounds" which adds even more bugs. Why not an update with NO new content but just solid bug fixes and AI revamp... I made the comment that when they had a catapult launch 4 or 5 fighters in a split second that is was hardly historical, in fact, it was impossible. I was told it facilitates game play just like reloading torpedoes at sea is.... yes, I agree, it would be awful if ships had to return to port to reload torpedoes... THAT is fine.... but 5 fighters from one catapult because its EASIER to do it that way to rebalance the game for CV's is NOT facilitating game play... ...Its lazy coding. The entire CV rework was a failure, CV's are not worth playing, but hey, WoWs made their money... right... and sold a ship load of CV's before nerfing the planes... not the ships... The AI in Co-Op play is also LAZY CODING! Leaving bugs in the game is LAZY, adding content to make more money rather than keeping existing customers happy is also LAZY. Please.... can we have one update that has NO NEW CONTENT.... but fixes a lot of the bugs the game has, some that have been with the game now for over a year? Right now, the game is not worth playing IF YOU'RE NEW TO THE GAME.... people get rammed by bots or attacked will leave rather than put up with that. Lets get the game back to the historical accuracy and REMOVE the pointless CV's.... and all the other problems. I have made the point before on FaceBook that had WoWs been real life, then the attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese would have been a disaster for them... all the planes would have been shot down and nothing sunk. Funny thing is, if you had a game of only humans all with CV's then you'd play for two hours before anything got sunk...

Nope... happens to me every 2nd or 3rd game.

Its been that way for a very long time. before this time last year even. If anything, its getting worse.

The Thanksgiving event has 5K coal for 250 doubloons.

Coal Grinding is ... hardish.... for a reason. It makes you want to come back and back and back... I already have the majority of coal ships on the NA server but since I moved to Holland from New Zealand about 8 months ago, I might re-activate my old EU account. I was one of the first to start a clan (for free) when they came out so I'd like to get that started and bequeath it a good clan member to run... anyhow, Coal is vital to enjoying the game. Put up with the grind and work it for all its worth.

I buy them all, but NOTHING below T5 as they are no good for competitions. When I have spare coal, I do buy the older ships for my museum. Take your time buying them, the new ones could always be a dud, the Georgia for example, was all hype from WoWs and a floating rock in battles. BTW, I play on all servers. The NA is my main home.

Its been nearly three days so far. To say I am angry, is an understatement. Let me explain, this involves the NORTH AMERICAN server but because they banned alot of the anti CV protestors, of which I was one, I cannot post to the North American forums. Two days ago, my Jaguar completed the mission and earned herself 250 French Republic tokens. I then bought the permanent camo for her, 250 French Republic tokens. I did NOT get the camo. So, I sent a nice polite support ticket asking them to fix it... and I waited ....and waited..... and waited.... nearly a day later, I bumped the ticket by asking why the delay... still nothing... I asked for an update... still nothing.... then I started getting nasty because its RUDE of them to ignore a person asking for help... even a nice "we are looking into it" would help... but, no, NOTHING.... Then, this morning... they closed the ticket because they said I had been abusive.... no... not to begin with... and my abuse was on the mild side... THEY were rude not answering me. So, I lodged another ticket saying my first post was polite... etc etc etc... that THEY were rude to me... and further, they REPLY when they THINK they have been abused? Mean time.... I am reluctant to drive the Jaguar if *I* have to provide the camo for it... seriously, I should HAVE a free camo right? Its worse when you think that the Jaguar is only premium while the French event is running. Maybe the admins here can tell support to stop being ....... hard.... and provide the support they are paid to provide.

I did and I found it... as far as i know, I never hide ANY camo's... I suspect this happened by itself in the last update, much like they always change your port on you to one you don't want. You'd think "support" could have said what you did, 5 seconds work, to solve the problem? No faith in them any more.

More than 12 months ago, much more, I stopped playing this game, and I refused to even log into the forums. Why? Because some child called me a liar. I am 57.5 years old, AND... I wanted to start playing this game again because a few months ago, I was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. I want to take my mind off things by playing games. OK, I'm taking a Gene pill to fight the cancer, but that can only extend my life... by how much, I don't know. The pill is called "Erlotnib" and it causes numerous and painful side effects. Another reason I want to start playing games, like this one again. At the time, the staff at the help centre said they were cracking down on the trolls and if I wait a few months, I should see the difference. I did not want to wait.... I don't appreciate being called a liar. I had spent a fair bit of money on this game, and will be reluctant to do so again in the future. I also do NOT want to read posts full of abuse and children acting like entitled brats.... that is why I won't read the forums, and why I'm asking (nicely) I suspect the number of updates I have missed out on will mean a new download before I can get back into my account. I suspect then that I will have much to learn as it will have changed a great deal. The last time I had logged in, the British Cruisers had joined the ranks... I think I even purchased one..... Can a staff member Email me a code I can use as a reward for returning to the fold... you know, because you missed me! :) :)
