I usually experience the opposite case. Whenever I get a new ship, I get uptiered for the first 2 battles (sometimes the only ship with the lowest tier) before I get matched within the more normal bracket. Once I get close to eliting the ship, MM smiles at me for some time but screws me at the last battle in which I could earn the xp needed for the next ship.

Downloaded wrong client, need to add EU to script_config
deadly_if_swallowed replied to Ysterpyp's topic in General Discussion
There was a guide for this somewhere in this forum but I cannot find it right now. Easiest way I can think of is installing Aslains Modpack. There is a region changer inside. But you need to keep in mind that EU and NA sometimes have different game versions. If you plan to play a lot and exclusively on EU, I'd recommend downloading the EU client over night. -
shore attack - where? when? is it even in the game yet?
deadly_if_swallowed replied to Martin_D_Roberts's topic in Newcomers' Section
I was referring to ship tiers, not account level Seeing you play German and US battleships, you will eventually encounter this game mode with Bismarck or North Carolina respectively at the earliest. -
Depends on what bugs you the most. 1 gun is a lot of firepower. However, it is the centermost gun that usually has bad angles. It is not THAT much of a loss but it sure is a loss in firepower. And you don't actually trade it for more AA firepower (although those Bofors can take down a plane or two); the real gain is the ability to cause panic drops on planes so you have a much easier time dodging them. If you have a CV divisionmate, choosing C-hull might be a good idea.

deadly_if_swallowed replied to Martin_D_Roberts's topic in Newcomers' Section
iirc = if i remember correcty And yes, there are certain maps in the T8-10 bracket that have this game mode. -
Those are rudder shift times, you can look up all ships here http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/World_of_Warships if you don't want to use the tech tree in game client. But Fuso does not look right - I think rudder shift mod was taken into account while all others are unmodified top hulls. So Dunkerque ranks 3rd of all T6 BBs. But I think she also has the largest turning circle of all (too lazy to properly compare).

Even weirder: I once detonated a Tirpitz with my Yamato's 155mm AP secondaries. Unfortunately, I did not take a screenshot

Smells like sabotage. You did not treat your crews well.

BOTS - Are they WG Employees?

fixed that for you -
I was not talking about Dunkerque at all That was Scharnhorst-related.

Should not, yet it did to me. It felt like the shells did not fly the way I aimed them. By removing the mod I turned the main battery into a shotgun again, but while the total spread is wider, I get more shells in the center. And yes, the secondary build wreaks havoc in mid- and endgame.

The few differences however: discounted premium time 180/360 days (only discounted on special occasions like Christmas - this time even combined with the Paypal doubloon bonus), and discount for almost all premium ships at once. Although unlike the USA sales where on Black Friday you get cheap stuff shoved up your bottom with a cherry on top, EU at least had a wide variety that we usually don't have. Not saying I was fully satisfied but I guess this was better than what we usually get.

Well yes. And we did get some discounts there as well, namely -15% on premium account. I fail to see your point... I do understand that buying premium ships with doubloons in game is a bit of a detour but I like it better if I want the ship without any bundle. I simply have so many empty port slots from previous sales, and they got even more with the duplicate ARP ships I already had. So I better save the slot and captain.

That statement referred to this sales offer: http://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/common/eshop-black-friday-deals/ The real one, the in-game premium discounts, were announced shortly after as a separate newspost that Srle_Vigilante has linked.

Good choice getting both. They are very different, yet I think I have an easier time with Atago. I prefer heavy cruisers in general. It is really up to your very own preference. Atago/Takao is probably the best ninja cruiser in the game by buffing concealment to Russian DD level. Turret setup needs some getting used to, but since it is the same as Myoko you will eventually get there anyway. And your torpedo launchers almost cover 360° which makes the ship unique in the whole IJN heavy cruiser line. Kutuzov on the other hand is a very fragile light cruiser with 19.1 km range that you may want to make use of most of the time. I have not yet figured out how to use smoke to best personal use but since you stay at longer range you can very well help your allied BBs with that by covering narrow passages etc. Surprisingly, I find myself setting less fires than with Shchors in general. Might be my bad luck though.

No more compensations for team damage? Possible alternatives?
deadly_if_swallowed replied to Aotearas's topic in General Discussion
Ever since repair bills were turned to a fixed amount, TK only costs penalty but does not give any compensation to the victim because the servicing charge does not actually increase. You even save credits for being unable to fire expensive shells or even more expensive torpedoes all game long Jokes aside, whenever someone is being damaged or sunk by friendly fire (not accidental ramming), they of course miss on the opportunity to get their profits. So it should be only fair to compensate the full or at least relative servicing charge if team damage exceeds a certain value.- 11 replies

Does anyone know what this means?
deadly_if_swallowed replied to ThePopesHolyFinger's topic in Newcomers' Section
Well, only that they are not being dismissed. The old captain is sent to reserve, and the newly obtained captain will be automatically put on the ship. -
I know which one you mean but I cannot find it anymore. However, this one is just as hilarious

Does anyone know what this means?
deadly_if_swallowed replied to ThePopesHolyFinger's topic in Newcomers' Section
Not a clue. I had the same indicator on my ARP ships this time. I presume the game has an interference between getting the ship (usually auto selecting the ship) and not being able to display it due to the port (not Yokosuka). Once you switch to Yokosuka, you should have her anyway. -
This looks so hilarious, I can't help but to second this proposal

Scharnhorst was quite the pain in the beginning, especially her dispersion was veeery frustrating for me. Took me about 2 weeks to get used to her, but now she is among my top 3 ships. Highly recommended, she really is a multi-purpose BB/CC. Just don't mount the aiming mod Ever since I traded it for secondary range, my hit rate with main batteries instantly improved a lot.
