With a DB squad. IJN CV Tier 7-8 only.

    Nation specific BB traits

Is there a nation or fleet with battleships that got really really close and personal in battle? Maybe you can use Secondary Barrage to have your mid-range AA guns fire at the enemy ship as well, slightly (but constantly) damaging non-armored ships and take out enemy surface modules like AA guns etc. Not sure about the elevation angles of guns like the 40mm Bofors but I guess some rapid firing 40mm mounts can sweep a deck empty in no time. Highly situational given the relatively short range, but if nothing else it would at least add some pirate feeling to any ramming action or driveby shots

    Iowa

Honestly, I never felt Iowa's citadel to be as vulnerable as people make it out to be. Yes, it sits above the waterline, and yes, you can get punished really hard for showing your flat broadside (current record with my Yamato: quintuple citadel, devastating strike). Showing broadside will get you punished with almost all ships, Montana and Yamato alike. The real flaws in Iowa's (and Montana's) armor are their "cheeks" between the foreship and midship section. That is where frontal citadels occur, they rarely penetrate the bow itself I think. Hence, since you can get punished either way regardless of ship, taking Iowa into close combat is not as bad either. Survival is overrated anyway The guns hit hard and even with the reload mod they turn fast enough to keep track on most targets. Just make sure you don't have 18" barrels smiling at you from the side while you charge in.

X-Mass wishlist. Ask SantaWoW (we never know).

I'd wish for Das Boot, Bottlesheep, Pokeboat... and whatever the Russian thingy was named.

4x CV's in one and the same battle? Is that becoming the new "normal"?

Tier 7. From Tier 8 upwards, CVs are limited to 1 per side. So it is, in return, factually true. High-tier bracket is 8-10, mid-tier 5-7.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

I have just met SkybuckFlying in his Benson. Honestly, he played very decently. Layed a couple of useful smoke screens for our team.

AA range indicator when playing CV

Maybe we can agree to a trade-off? I think I would be fine with this: Don't show AA circles of ships in general. But instead, show the long range AA circle of a ship with activated defensive fire consumable. You can see smoke circles nowadays, so a DF circle would be fine by me. Condition: the ship itself needs to be visible. Otherwise it would be too easy to determine the ship's exact position if hidden in a smoke screen.

AA range indicator when playing CV

Thought about it, too. But eventually this will give you instant hints to enemy ship specs that are usually meant to be a surprise. You can see range upgrades (ships having AA range of 7.2 km) so you know this ship does not sport aiming mod or a full secondary build. I'd much dislike people seeing the boundaries of my NC and Iowa AA builds. They'd become useless the very instant the ship gets spotted. Yes, it would make CVs' lives easier. But I think it will be too easy then.

Pearl harbor mission , so how to make things even more retarded

Once a mission ends and the new one is published, or at the very latest when the whole mission trial is over, I kindly ask you to publish the numbers of completed missions in detail. There is a difference between "challenging" and "near impossible" so I would very much like to see how many players made the impossible happen. Last week, I completed 4 parts of the mission and despaired at the 5th. This week, I do not even bother achieving the 2nd part.

    New record for me

I know that but I usually have around 2.2 to 2.7 mil potential damage. Got a new record a few days ago though. Have to check screenshot when I get home. I remember having 151k spotting damage that game but not sure about the potential damage right now here it is:

    Am I the oldest captain?

Now, this is some pretty interesting thread I know there are some grown-ups playing warships, some around their late 40s. But this kind of age surprises me, to be honest. Yet I truly appreciate the gathering of people from different nations, ages etc, all sharing the common interest to play this game. This is what makes a great community Wish there were more older folks getting rid of their technophobia, and just get online to have fun (instead of sending me a letter asking for help on how to use a modern telephone...)

    Tashkent gameplay difficulties, seeking advice

On both ships I use BFT for 10% faster reload (= 4.5 sec), and the main battery traverse mod at the cost of reload. So in the end I have 4.7 sec reload but I am able to keep guns on target even during most turns. I think it is an okay trade-off.

ARP Takao? nah, prepare for the ARP Nachi pain

Fair enough. Might as well change the restriction to T6 Russian ship (or T5 if in faildivision). Ah, just any Russian ship will do as long as your opponent is T8 or higher.

    Tashkent gameplay difficulties, seeking advice

I gave up on trying to be stealthy with Tashkent. There are times in which you have to relocate of course, but during a fight I just try to use her speed and flat shell arcs. I replaced the concealment module with -40% rudder shift, and took acceleration in slot 3. As a gunboat with the worst concealment of all competitors, she is constantly visible anyway so why bother... I still fail hard quite often when I sail her, but this setup can do very well too, if you are not the only DD in your team and forced to do DD stuff instead of letting her be the ultra-light cruiser she actually is. Since I am really bad at torping in general, I do not rush for the 8 km torps. I actually have fun with the 4 km ones if I get close enought to use them.

    NoZoupforYou's Missouri Review

I think Zoup mentions this in above vid (not sure anymore because it was late yesterday). The credit bonus comes with the ship itself, not with its camo. So you can mount any camo you want if you don't like the permanent ones, you just have to give up the xp benefits.

    Supertest is Opening the Gates

Damn. I wish I could contribute to game and community some more (not to mention the goodies that come with it ) but I simply lack the time to do so frequently with fixed sessions etc. Gotta stick to the forums then I guess. Good luck to all applicants. From what I have seen, the Supertesters are great people to work with. Keep up the good work

Pearl harbor mission , so how to make things even more retarded

I gotta say, it looks frighteningly good on my Hiryu. But seriously, that design... It's nice as a CV decoration. Yay, planes, sinking battleship, get rekt. Like a Jolly Roger for carriers. But as a commemorative flag for the Attack on Pearl Harbor? For that, something like a Hawaiian turtle would have been nice, as a calm symbol of peace.

    Dual coloured airplane markers?

Probably an air duel between 2 squads with the markers overlapping each other?

    FFM.

I'd gladly take any buffs this ship can get. But honestly, I feel quite satisfied with her as she is now. Only torps are quite a nuisance once they come from a more or less 90° angle from either side. I think despite her slow rudder shift she can torpedobeat quite well compared to other BBs. Then again, high tier torps are dangerous for any ship, even Yamato unless they only hit the TDS. I took the liberty of taking a look into your T8-10 BB stats. You got a great survival rate but a rather mediocre hit rate and average damage. RNG and bad luck aside, So I presume you either stay back too far, or you do not fire full broadsides even if you could, or you focus the wrong targets. Have you tried to dig in deeper and get close and personal with enemy ships? Or maybe tried other modules? I admit, my survival rate is abyssmal, because there is only a handful of ships I do NOT take into close quarters combat - and Montana is not one of them. Once you angle your thick armor, only a Yamato can citadel you reliably. Kurfürst's turtleback is a though nut to crack but can be melted by hitting the upper belt nonetheless. A good broadside hit can deal as much damage as several citadel hits. Can't wait for Phteven to finally get his lvl 5 skill

Pearl harbor mission , so how to make things even more retarded

At first glance I didn't even recognise it. Then I though exactly the same... The Midway flag shows a peaceful seagull to commemorate the four Japanese fleet carriers that got obliterated by US air strikes. The Pearl Harbor flag shows a sinking US battleship to commemorate the sinking of US battleships. That is quite a brutal reminder.
