I'd Rather Be Unleashing Broadsides But Instead I'm.......

NoZoupForYou, sir -
There is only one Hentai copy of Atago... or let's rather say Atago is the non-anime Takao-class sister ship. The others are Myoko-class cruisers. I daresay cruisers without smoke encourage you to keep mobile, sailing and wiggling your ship. I rarely even use smoke on Kutuzov because it makes me do stupid things that get me killed. And citadelling Neptunes and Minotaurs in smoke has become a bit of a sport for my Yamato It's all personal preference, of course. If you do well with smoke, all the better While I love Hipper gameplay and I usually make good use of her.

I got 2 supercontainers out of roughly 80 TYL containers. Both contents were useless for me (i.e. flags I had plenty already). Then I chose credits but rarely got more than 50k credits. Then I tried consumables. Better saving potential thanks to at least 3 premium damacon (worth 67500 credits) plus other stuff. Now I mainly pick the flags&camo containers. And the vast majority of them (feels like 90%) also contains 500 free xp among other things that I gladly take.

Ashigara all the way

Right now she is a Hipper for money. Is that want you want? You still need Hipper to grind to Tier 9 and 10 which are both worth grinding for. Once you unlocked Roon you could sell your Hipper and use Eugen instead, which would surpass her sister ship at least in that one aspect. But right now there is absolutely no reason for me to buy her.
-
Yup. Even a single heal (up to 3 with premium and SI) would buff her to a degree I could consider taking her seriously as a premium ship. As a mere Hipper clone without noticable differences, she just looks like a waste of money even during sale. Being a Hipper clone though, the ship itself should be decent enough. I cannot understand how people call Hipper weak and fragile. She does not have Atago's stealth or Chapayev's radar, but she is definitely neither weak nor fragile. In fact, being the most balanced ship I ever played in the game, she can play multiple roles. She can reliably hunt DDs and spot torps thanks to German hydro (and her HE buff), punish cruisers thanks to German AP railguns, support at damaging enemy BBs, and add valuable AA firepower to allies thanks to 40mm Bofors clones and the already great 105mm DP guns.

At least she is fun to play. Great maneuverability, fun guns, sometimes satisfying salvoes... Just the battle outcome does not feel rewarding at all for me. Guess she is the first stepstone at which one should think again if one truly wants to continue the RN CL line, and the first ship to force you to adapt to the line's unique playstyle.

I played the stock hull for a decent amount of games, entirely skipping the B-hull. I did not feel an urgent need for additional HP, the AAA was already okay, and rudder shift only improves on the C-hull. Stock Iowa is not bad, really. Coming from NC she felt quite similar, just with way better guns. Getting the C-hull should be your main concern but getting the propulsion upgrade first is also viable (just for lol 34.5 knots with speed flag).

Pearl harbor mission , so how to make things even more retarded
deadly_if_swallowed replied to Draconobilis's topic in General Discussion
Yup, the last one will be tough. But hey, it's only mission 5/5, the previous mission rows had earlier stepstones. And it is not impossible either. This new mission row supports sailing cruisers in general, as by weekend many players will have completed missions 1-3 I think. Maybe we will see more cruisers from Sunday to Tuesday, and hopefully a balanced MM. -
POINTLESS CRUISERS: major problems and possible solutions

"mostly" as in "usually not suiciding alone but playing meatshield whenever it seems useful" And sometimes you get stuff like this out of it: -
Citadel to Tirpitz with T6 cruiser Leander

Leander op confirmed. Pls nerf -
Mostly plays battleships, especially medium-tier and is very good in them Deals a large amount of damage Very rarely uses torpedoes Key vehicle - Nagato "Very good"? Other friends have "excellent" with lower WTR And yes, I very rarely use torps. Even "in ships that have them".

Sorry, can't take "something needs to be done"-threads seriously anymore. There are just too many of them, and too few with valuable content. Something needs to be done about this.

Take a look at Truk Lagoon. Does this look familiar? "Philippines" perhaps? -

Probably penned the foreship deck at such a weird angle that turtleback had no effect? Or maybe you scored a lucky hit on a turret? RNGesus moves in mysterious ways. -
Just press + or - (default) to adjust.

POINTLESS CRUISERS: major problems and possible solutions
deadly_if_swallowed replied to Kaput_Mundi's topic in Cruisers
As a BB player who mostly fights in the front line alongside cruisers and destroyers, soaking damage, baiting torpedoes, who slowly (or sometimes not so slowly) burns to death, and who gets close and personal with the enemy, can I pls keep my repair? It lets me feel secure while playing meatshield for you, even if I cannot use all of them. -
observation balloons onboard low-tier capital ships
deadly_if_swallowed replied to Cpt_Andre's topic in General Discussion
Although only intended as a joke, I cannot recall any binding definition for a capital ship but only the importance of the ship. From Wikipedia: William S. Lind, in the book America Can Win (p. 90), defines a capital ship as follows: "These characteristics define a capital ship: if the capital ships are beaten, the navy is beaten. But if the rest of the navy is beaten, the capital ships can still operate. Another characteristic that defines capital ships is that their main opponent is each other." Given the DD importance in this game, I think this is perfectly applicable -

And by that you mean... what?

Fletcher op confirmed! Pls nerf nao! Now I have a rather casual question for you guys. While I feel very comfortable with 4 squads (Zuiho, Ranger, Saipan, Lexington), I sometimes struggle with managing some more. I notice this especially on Hiryu. The first half of the game feels okay. I deploy, spread out, scout the enemy fleet, decide on where to stash my bombers etc. But almost everytime I get unattentive at some later point, focus too much on a single strike or strafe, and forget about the servicing cycles on my CV, i.e. not sending out at least 2 serviced or replaced squads. What about you? Do you guys manage to stay focussed on everything that happens in game for the whole duration, or do you have some kind of a routine to take a little time-out during the match while still keeping your planes airborne? I like CV play in general and it adds a great diversion from the normal ship play but doing well is very exhausting, especially after work (which is also the reason why I cannot be angry at potatoing CV players).
