Well, I did that and now I have 82k doubloons. Quite the disappointing refund since there is nothing worth buying with them.

To be fair, the way they managed the plane reserves, i.e. unlimited hangar capacity but only a set number of planes on deck, is probably the only thing I like about the rework. Wish we had that in the RTS version (with adequate nerfs to planes per se for balancing).

If it's any comfort, I sold ALL my CVs the day the rework went live (after getting snowflake steel). Now I have 82k doubloons and, at least for the moment, no motivation of touching this game anymore. gg wp WG

If life WeeGee gives you lemons, enjoy them and be grateful it's not a CV rework like this one. I may have been quite silent about this in the forum but I am probably one of the larger oaks here. It's not like I complain about the game balance, I simply hate the whole rework per se and everything within it.

Yep, I did like the RTS-like gameplay. Not from the beginning though. I struggled hard in the beginning. If you check my stats, you will see a very red history with low tier CVs up to Independence. Only after I watched Flamu play CV on his stream (and let's face it - he is good but not special) and saw how to manual drop properly, I suddenly jumped from "bad" to "unicum". It wasn't necessarily a bad design, despite all the UI issues, but as was mentioned right in the beginning of rework discussion: WG absolutely failed to give players information on how to play CVs effectively. To make things worse, they even removed the basic controls from T4 and T5. So T4 and T5 died that day (rip Zuiho o7) and now the rest of the class has followed.

Today I sold all my CVs, including the premium ones. This rework killed the whole class for me. WG can tweak this mess all they like; I will have no part in it. I do hope there will be something in the future that I can spend 82k doubloons on...

I wish to participate as well. Big thanks to lup3s for hosting, and to all contributors! Sadly, I can't add to the prize pool this year as my car had to get its engine replaced.

I checked. I'd get 15 ships, mostly low tier (Lima dupes) and a few T7s, out of it along with a metric fckton of doubloons.

Not exactly a 1/4 pen rule but a hard set to 25mm base and 32mm with IFHE. Have fun melting dem BBs :)

To be honest, I never deemed her a bad or weak ship. But a very difficult one and maybe not suited to be a T4 ship that rookies have to go through, making her more of a stepping stone much unlike her T4 peers. But if you have learned more about battleships and go back to Myogi at a later stage, you just have to admit her strengths.

Wow. Someone got triggered. Gneisenau is a fine ship. She is unique within the German BB tree (she is not even comparable to her sister), but she is a fine ship nonetheless. Took me a while to acknowledge it though. Eventually she became one of my favourite T7 ships.

True. It's just the statement "IFHE doesn't work on BB main guns" that I was uncomfortable with. The skill works perfectly fine; your pen goes up. Matching important thresholds or being worth spending 4 captain points is a different story.

There certainly are a few sections that become penetrable after picking the skill. Your pen goes up from 105 to 136 after all (GK with 420mm) They are just way less important thresholds than the 32mm bow/aft armor mark :>

Wha? Is the wiki wrong then? "Increases the armor penetration of HE shells fired from both main and secondary battery guns" That should lead us to 136mm armor pen on GK main artillery (420mm). Ofc the secondaries become quite hilarious but tbh that build works best in coop, not in randoms.
