I use Atlanta with my Iowa/Missouri captain who has full AA build (CE, AFT, manual AA). Since the AA dps gets pretty insane, I don't bother taking Defensive Fire but take Hydro instead to farm DD tears who think they are safe once Radar times out. If a BB with big guns looks your way, sod your instincts and turn full broadside. You cannot tank BB shells anyway and most frontal/aft pens will citadel you. So just turn broadside and hope for overpens.

Nope. I have bought, sold, re-bought, sold again Pensacola, Cleveland, and Yorck a couple of times. But never a T10. And although I am not overly fond of Minotaur (simply not my type of ship), I don't think I would ever sell her.

It's not my type of ship... Guns are too inaccurate for my taste (1.7 sigma with weird dispersion pattern), penetration is quite trollish (I call her the "queen of overpens"), armor is non-existent, and her AA and secondaries are nothing to write home about either. But her maneuverability feels very comfortable, I give her that. Very responsive rudder. There are people who do well with her but I am not one of them :) I value gun accuracy too much. I considered buying her to get the 5200 doubloons but I would not do the x2 XP missions that come with the package so it would be a waste.

Also, keep in mind that once the enemy ship gets nuked by a double citadel, all other shells will not be counted as hits although they are raping the sinking ship. So although you landed a masterful volley, you still only hit 2 of 8 shells.

Also noticed a translation error on the last stage's reward. English website and game client both say 4x reserve slots, German website says 4x port slots.

I thought just taking part in the battle and pretend to do what the others do was enough. I began understanding game mechanics when I had Nagato almost fully upgraded. I used free-xp conversion and a credits bundle to get Yamato during a Christmas sale which I regret today (Izumo was awful back then but I never learned how to handle the hull size) I still have not learned how to Yamato. After almost 500 battles with her, her stats are slooowly becoming worthy of her power. I still play "stupidly aggressive", and sometimes suicide rush the enemy if someone calls me a coward.

Don't forget to load AP in close combat against cruisers for glorious citadel farming :> Yesterday I snuck up on an enemy Arizona that was fighting enemies on the other side. Fired AP at her upper hull and superstructure from 4 km, scoring 9k dmg per volley. Long story short: Inferno rainbows are fun but don't underestimate her AP shells either.

Most premium ships were available multiple times, if that's what you mean? Why should it be different here? At least I haven't read anything indicated this being one run only. However, it is well possible that WG's contract with the anime studio expires after a year or so (see Aoki Hagane ships, "ARP"), or the collaboration ends due to other circumstances. Better not risk it, especially for the Harekaze :) Fun little ship. I absolutely despise IJN DDs and only play Shiratsuyu for torpedo missions. But Harekaze makes a good crossover.

You don't bring Hipper or Eugen to competitive games because you want specialists in a 7v7 team-coordinated environment, no generalists. That does not mean an all-rounder like the Hipper-class has no place in a 12v12 random game where she is very much capable to deal with any role you assign her to, and switch around them. Your BBs go down? Fine, Hipper can take some beating and dish out some raw dmg numbers. Your light cruisers fail? Fine, Hipper can hunt those DDs. Your DDs got sunk? Fine, Hipper can cuddle enemies inside a cap and knifefight them down. She is not specialised on any of these tasks but she is very much okay with them.

Dear WG-EU team, I know you all do your work at WG, and you usually do it well. Yes, there is an annoying server disparity and there will always be room for improvement anyway, but these are topics for another time and place. One colleague of yours, however, does an exceptionally great job (imho) that one can see on the main page almost every day but whose work is probably not noted by the masses. Des Moines would like to have a word with you :P But I agree on the rest. Prime example of a "jack of all trades, master of none"-case.

Not to mention the amazing looks of Prinz Eugen. I think she is one of the best, if not the best, ship model we have in game (with either camo - I even like the GDI one). Of course, she shares the same strength her sister ship Hipper has: she has no weakness. Just a well rounded heavy cruiser that does well (but not excellent) in any situation. And, if you already own her, she is worth 11k doubloons. edit: Thanks to her great turret rotation and 13 seconds reload, she can quickly switch targets during battle, which you kind of have to do anyway. This also trains the player for better situational awareness and less tunnel vision.

What's wrong with her sigma? It's actually the second best on T6 at a standard BB 1.8, second only to Warspite's 2.0 Much unlike Fuso (sigma 1.5) she hits where you aim at.

Ahoy, welcome to Europe I guess the engine and rudder on French ships break so easily because they are cruisers. I had the same problem during the grind of my German cruisers - every single HE shell seemed to break the main engine of my trusty Hipper. As for your clan question, I highly recommend the one and only Pravda Kantai - great people, lots of fun on their Discord. Even if you don't apply or if they have no vacant slot, it is always worth dropping into their channel. Best ask @GenrMcAuliffe1 for an invitation :) There are some other clans around, of course, but I'd first try to get a foot into PRAVD ;)

I have never seen this working out well. Many ppl try but never has such a Fuso not lost a star. I struggled my way from rank 15 (?) to rank 10 with a 44% WR (so I lost around 24 games) and I have only lost 4 or 5 stars along the way. Mostly played Warspite but also had some "success" with Mutsu and Bayern. I wonder when ppl will notice that picking a fight with the enemy at an adequate BB range (which is not 20 km) will outperform any border hugging Fuso. And I also wonder if ppl turn off their chat. Fleet deployment right at the start usually is a mess.

So, apparently we can use any IJN captain on Harekaze. But can we also use the HSF captain on IJN ships? If so, I can train her to be my Akizuki captain and use her on both smol botes with the same guns, and just slap the standard IJN or the USN guns when using Harekaze with my Poi-class captain.

Worth it? I know Flamu's commentary from the time of her release, but I also know how fragile this boat can be. I tend to collect all sorts of stuff but this one does not stir up the urge that I have with other ships.

Tried Bayern yesterday. Will stick to her for now and maybe even retrain a higher ranking captain (current one has 10 pt). Great ship. Why didn't I use her earlier?

I played 42 games and lost the vast majority of them. Never have I been saving my hp for later as described above. If a single BB that sits in the back can outscore the rest of the team after all of them died, it is somewhat deserved. A normal BB, however, that swims with the fleet and hammers enemies from a distance where shells actually hit and do damage, will always best the cowards.
