Hm, is it possible that there was a severe case of lag? Although 10 seconds sounds a bit too much for that.

[AI Bug] AI ships from northwest will attack LIBERTY ships in Aegis battle
Varian_Dorn replied to wrlu's topic in General Discussion
The thing is... the nw group attacks the transports while there are still escorts present aka BEFORE the players liberate the convoy. I´ve seen this a few times now, by the time the last escort was destroyed at least one transport had already been killed by ships of the nw group. And as I said before, this does not make any sense, not even by WG standards; I´ve also never seen this happen before until recently (I think the past two weeks or so). -
[AI Bug] AI ships from northwest will attack LIBERTY ships in Aegis battle
Varian_Dorn replied to wrlu's topic in General Discussion
I´ve had close encounters before on this operation, but until recently I never saw the western ship group attack the transports while they still are under enemy control. It also wouldn´t make sense for the western group to shoot at the transports under any circumstance - because if the western group actually gets that far the player team already struggles and thus the bots should focus all fire on the player team so they (the bots) can get away with their "prize", aka the transports. Shooting them (the transports) up when theres a good chance the player team can be defeated is highly illogical. -
[AI Bug] AI ships from northwest will attack LIBERTY ships in Aegis battle

You haven´t played Aegis with randoms in quite a while, right? I noticed this recently as well and already mentioned it somewhere on this forum. So its not just an odd coincidence; you and I aren´t the only ones who experienced this during the past few weeks. I too witnessed at least one of the Transports getting destroyed while they are technically still under enemy "protection". Usually its the one in the front row, west side... or as it now comes together, the one closest to the western ship group. -
Your "solution" isn´t helpful in any way, telling 80% of players to stop doing ops just because some 20% decided to be major a**hats. Filter out the idiots and ban them, temp bans for a few days should do the trick; repeat offenders get perma ban. Problem solved.

12 days until Steel+Coal Discount Vouchers!
Varian_Dorn replied to Sir_Sinksalot's topic in General Discussion
I´m taking a pick on this one: While the Marco Polo certainly ain´t a bad ship I personally find the Kearsarge to be more entertaining and flexible. Kearsarge features a strong main battery, combined with secondaries that can make a difference if you should find yourself in a close combat situation; her attack wing allows you to strike targets which are otherwise hard to reach or unreachable - you can even spot for your own guns (scout and attack a concealed ship with planes, switch back to your ship while the attack is executed and use the provided sight to fire your main guns at the target). Especially when there are no carriers around Kearsarge can provide a nice little advantage. Be mindful about where you place the ship on the map though, she has a rather big target area due to her flight deck. Shes a bit sluggish and overall large, but also well armed. I recommend Kearsarge wholeheartedly out of the two ships here. -
AEGIS is almost unplayable since it was reworked

I´ve only recently noticed this too, though I can´t put my finger on the exact culprit. But the few times I had Aegis these days (fail or win) almost always some enemy bot killed one of the Transports. And looking at this map screenshot... it always seems to be the same ship that gets destroyed, the one in front, west side. I don´t recall this happening before, only noticed this during the past week or so. -
Well, if it ain´t worth the port slot its using for you... maybe just sell it; maybe credits are more useful. Or maybe keep it around for events like christmas to get some more coal off of it. My point is, just like it was with submarines early access: theres value in getting such a ship (for free or at least way less than usual), even if its just selling it or for events. I like that gif btw; saw the full clip a while back and, as I often do on those, scratched my head about the... efficiency of this trash truck

AEGIS is almost unplayable since it was reworked
Varian_Dorn replied to RenamedUser_92906789's topic in General Discussion
Aegis is quite hard nowadays, although in my experience it wasn´t one of the easiest before the rework as well. Its really a challenge to get this one with all objectives, though personally I´m happy if I can get a win at all on this. Had a game a little while ago on Killer Whale that made me cringe hard - most of the team played bad from the get-go; but the real kicker was, at the end, seeing the last two ships (a bb and a cruiser, both in good health), who could have easily made it to the exit area, just go in circles inside the harbor trying to fight off the reinforcement waves until time WOULD have run out. They got themselves killed slightly before that. Bonus points if you have a "purebred" PvP player in your team who mostly ignores the objectives and fights like they´re in an average random battle. -
.... even if the ship ain´t that great, its a T7 cruiser + commander and a ton of other stuff for 2500 dubs. T7s alone usually cost way more than that. So whats the point of your (highly subjective) statement?

We got Lutjens, why not Langsdorff? I support this idea. -
One would think checking the rather obvious "Black Friday" tab is easy enough. And Missouri´s "bonus credit mission" was integrated into the ships bonus package during the economy rework, you can see Missouri gets more credits than the average T9 vessel. As for your question what it is you´re missing.... I´d say an attention span greater than 15 seconds and/or a pair of glasses. You´re welcome.

I´m satisfied with the 25 certificates; if WG keeps the dropchances as they were the previous year on the Mega Gifts they should easily yield 1 of the few ships from the drop list that I don´t have yet. Out of the "common" ships these would either be Toulon or FR25, while the rare vessels could be the Kamikaze, Fujin, Cesare or Gremy. In any case, I sure will get my moneys worth in the final reward alone, not to mention the extra stuff throughout the stages. And as some already said: its up to everyone to decide whether or not they wanna drop dubs here; the free pass already has some good stuff. And I like the fact that you dont have to decide at the beginning if you go premium or not. We´ve had way worse offers than this from WG. all around.
-
Oh my, don´t tell me an arcade game is taking some liberties regarding loadout and abilities of the depicted ships. How dare they! Well, too bad for you. Don´t think you´ll get much sympathy though. Especially since part of your point was countered, even though the available facts seem to vary depending on the source. If you have the time maybe take a look at many, many other ships in the game vs. what their specs were in reality. Hint: there might be a "few" more differences.

Suite yourself. Your deary Flamuu is king when it comes to ignoring the good and overblowing the bad. Whatever point he may occasionally have is drowned out by this. But hey, pot and kettle. Just goes to show your true colors if you side with him and his... "style". But think about this: For all his endless ramblings and tirades.... he keeps playing WoWs. He keeps digging into the game. And you know why? Because he knows his biggest selling point on Twitch and Youtube is his endless WG bashing, catering to all the rage kids and gladly making some money off of their gullible little raging minds. Don´t believe me? Take a look at how many viewers he has when hes streaming Warships. Then take a look at his viewer count when hes doing something else. Most people dont watch him ´cause hes a likeable ray of sunshine, you know. Most people wanna see him fuel their need for outrage and anger towards their common "enemy". If the guy had actually anything else going for him his viewer count would be a bit more stable. But no, most only come to see him trash WG. Anything else on the menu, most people arent interested, and with good reason - the guy is [redacted]. Wargaming also makes money off of gullible minds, you might say. True; but they are a business. Its part of their basic concept to get people to spend on their product. Last I checked Flamuu is not a company - he´s merely an opportunist. And a je*k. -
While not the greatest reward for T11 research points work for me, 500 for merely grabbing some base xp is a very good trade. Looking forward to the event, last year boosted my ship collection considerably. If my luck holds up I will surely get a few neat pieces.

What is the benifit of being in a clan?
Varian_Dorn replied to Head_has_Exploded's topic in General Discussion
Depending on how active the Clan is and how many members there are Clans have, as my fellow captains already listed, several bonuses available for all members. These bonuses become active once they have been unlocked with oil and the members have at least contributed 50 oil to the Clan individually. Apart from that playing with friends / Clan members in division yields a little extra and every now and then there are "Division Stars" to be earned if you are in a Clan that further reward playing in a Clan division. -

How could I have been so blind and not see this? How did I not think of this? You are right! We shall not simply accept what the government...... ..... .... what? About a game? A gaming company? Really? *overly dramatic show mode off* Empire. Patriotism. Change. Grand comparisons to history and society. Yeah, right. If you can´t justify your stance just make completely overblown comparisons and go existential. Makes your plight soooo much more convincing Or it just shows that, apparently, one of your biggest issues in your life seems to be the machinations in a video game. Oh boy. Look, having different opinions, different taste... thats a damn good thing. Feedback is important. But at some point decisions are made, parameters are set. And at that point ranting endlessly is, at best, annoying. There are far more important topics deserving of so much effort and energy - an arcady ship battle game certainly ain´t one of them. It boils down to: do you still like what you see enough to keep playing or not? If I dont like what I see in a game or lose motivation I just stop. No grand speeches, no big goodbyes, no drama. I just leave. And if at some point it interests me again I come back. Its a bloody game and not an independence movement, for crying out loud! Passion is good, but some of you are seriously overdoing it - and worse yet, you try to force change in a mostly obnoxious, unconstructive and thick-headed way. In. a. video. game. There are cases when this kind of uproar was or is justified (think the Missouri bs; think Battlefront 2 with EA) - the current "grievances" certainly don´t qualify, not by a long shot. "Wah wah, they don´t include the ships we want, waaaaah, but force subs and cvs on us, wah wah wah" What a brutal life it is for you. The injustice is practically traumatizing. NOT. -

Varian_Dorn replied to Migantium_Mashum's topic in General Discussion
Yes, the very same people who spend 3 hours in the official stream trash talking and making any productive talk hard if not impossible. He can keep those. As for the issues... theres a right way and a wrong way to go about them. Flamuu and his fans are the wrong way. Always. You said it yourself what he does. The only reason to go to him is because you are not interested in context, not interested in an actual arguement, you wanna see rage. There are several others who pick up on issues as well, in a way more reasonable way. But you don´t got to Flamuu for "reasonable". -

So some people are butt-hurt that WG doesn´t include their personal wish-list, at least not at this time. Boo-hoo.
