  1. .... a Tier 8 carrier: Yorktown class CV-6 U.S.S. Enterprise https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Enterprise_(CV-6) The ship by itself would more than deserve a representation in this game, bearing a most impressive service record. Plus it would pay honors to the recently (Feb. 03, 2017) decomissioned CVN-65, the latest "Big E". Enterprise is, in my opinion, one of the finest ships in naval history, both the CV-6 and the CVN-65. Her story will most likely continue, as a new Enterprise is planned for 2025, being part of the Gerald R. Ford class of new carriers. What's in it for everyone with this idea? We, the players, would get another fine vessel to toy with, both for historical and fun reasons. Wargaming would likely turn a solid profit on her name alone. And she would be only the second premium CV so far, so there's still room there.
  2. One can hope. But then again, I think they have actually gotten worse over the past year. Especially the Scharnhorst release mis-timing and the Santa's Convoy debacle come to mind, among other things. Damn you Wargaming. Should replace some of your PR / Planning people. And what was that these days with the announcement of Feb. 8th for patchday? They didn't fix the date until late into the day. And once more people were hoping WG was actually to be taken serious about changing patches to another weekday.
  3. The Graf Zeppelin would be awesome to have as well, seeing as it was a rather unique vessel for the german navy. And although flight tests were held with her she never was completed; a "operational" version to play with is most welcome, especially since new planes would be introduced as well to compete with the U.S. and Japanese aircraft. Still, once more Wargaming shows extremely bad planning and foresight, since the decomissioning of CVN-65 would have been a GOLDEN opportunity to release CV-6 as a premium. The NA market alone would have skyrocketed, I imagine. Well, here's to hope for Enterprise and said CV-revamp! Cheers!

    Arpeggio Compensation and More

I really hope we get our PROMISED rewards with today's update. Even though it's now been more than the announced 2 weeks and Wargaming ONCE AGAIN failed to mention what's what with the final ARP reward since they obviously didn't Keep their own time table.
  5. Well, I know Spee is supposed to be released tomorrow. I wonder about that info box.... why it would announce a false fact and why it is even there at all.
  6. Just got a message like this when I returned to port from a battle, including a Video about the ship's capabilities. Of course, Spee isn't out yet, but why did I get this message? And why is Spee the first premium to have an in-game announcement like that? It was literally a box that popped up with the video and that message - and NO, it was not a chat window. Anyone else seen this today?

    Return Premium Ships ?

Wow, incompetent and pathetic. You're quite a number. L2P, dude. Seriously. So the ship isn't for you, fine. Seems however the majority of players who played her so far a quite satisfied. So.... yeah, you're stuck with her. And yeah, you suck. Losing at 8 km or less against a Cleveland? Now that#s BAD. And the ship is not to blame here. Hint, so that you MAY learn something: for such situations there are strong secondaries and torpedoes on board. And if I really have to tell you now how you should have used all available weapons to actually win against a T6 non-torpedo cruiser in close combat... well, guess you really should play something closer to your personal skill then.

    First Scharnhorst impressions

Is that all you care about after what I've told here? Citadel hits? I almost pitty you. But to answer your question: against BB, not so much. But then again I didn't claim that. I "only" said Scharnhorst does a lot of damage up close. And yes, it also seems to me that she starts fires relatively often when using HE. Which also helps to build some steady damage on target ships.

    Schmarnhorst now in EU shop

    Schmarnhorst. I lol'ed.

    First Scharnhorst impressions

Been playing a few games now with her... and I have to say... the mostly positive previews are justified. Yes, she seems to catch fire a bit easier than other ships. Yes, she has trouble using AP at range. And yes, the dispersion can be a pain. But as others have said, her armor is quite good, she is fast and maneuverable. Fast reload = awesome. She can take on any opponent in her tier range and hold her own. Battleships? Wear them down at range with HE or catch them with torps, secondaries and broasides up close. Cruisers? Depends, but if he gets too close to you he's usually dead. Destroyers? Scharnhorst does remarkably well against them. And please, if we are talking strong points: her torpedoes do make quite a dent with good firing angles and also a good reload. And those SECONDARIES! Non-believers, take a look at the secondary hits on those posted screenshots. Scharnhorst is a wild-firing beast at close range. She does not have those big damage strikes, but she can do solid consistant damage. And she will hurt you at close range. A LOT. A Battlecruiser, that's what she is. And a fine one at that.

Where is german BB ın publıc test?

I find it more likely, with the recent announcement of the ships and Gamescom drawing close now, that we actually will see the release of 0.5.10 including the new battleships thursday next week. In conjunction with this I also hope they will finally give us Scharnhorst tomorrow - as an appetizer, so to speak.

pronounciation of german bb's for english speakers

I wonder how you would take on the Prinz Eugen, the legendary Hipper-class cruiser. Yes, she'll most likely be a premium.

    What update today?

Indeed. Contrary to their antics these days Wargaming not only released patch notes for today's update but did so 2 days ago. And I was hoping for a new premium as well....

Do we really need Situational Awereness?

Yes to the topic question, no to your reasoning against SA. To me, SA compensates partially for the (in my opinion somewhat overly excessive) "stealth" mechanic of the game, with a ship being COMPLETELY INVISIBLE if it's not in detection range... or (partially) obscured by smoke. Remember, in reality and under the mostly good weather conditions the game presents us with combat vessels were able to track, identify and target an enemy at ranges 20 kilometers and way beyond, up to the 42 kilometers with Yamato's max firing range. In this game however a warship can sit a handful of kilometers in front of you, in plain sight, with calm sea in brightest daylight, and you can't see even the slightest bit of it, not it's hull and not even the waves it generates while moving. Think about THAT when talking about "Immersion breaking". SA is fine for the way World of Warships is set up. And it's ok all captains have it now.
  15. Still no real news about german BBs. Still no info on the updated Arpeggio missions even though we're 2 days into them now. No explanation why the Bismarck wallpaper news was gone for over 20 hours after it's initial release (notice the time gap in the comments). As I said, either alarmingly busy or very sloppy / lazy, Wargaming.
  16. Ever since Scharnhorst was put into the client for testing I've been waiting for it's release, checking the damn website daily. Or rather, ever since that hunk'o'junk Krasni Krym was released. Remember, Wargaming? You put that scrapheap into testing alongside Scharnhorst. More than 2 weeks have passed now, and still not even a word on the release of any german premium(s) or a hint at the exact release date for the entire tree. And no, "around Gamescom" isn't good enough. First you hype everybody up for those ships, only NOT to deliver at the peak of said hype. By now at least a german premium should be out... you now, to get some more money from us and keep the hype up. Instead, I'm still looking at that russian garbage scow for a latest entry in the shop. So, DATES, now! Oh, and while you're at it, please train your website monkey to activate Information on new missions/content so it's available PARALLEL to the shop/game client. Just saw new Arpeggio missions in-game and a little heads-up would be nice.
  17. And that tells us... well, SOMETHING will happen. At least now I know why the EU-Website almost gets ignored by them these days. They're probably all too drunk to actually do their jobs.
  18. Oh yes, it can be seen. it uses the same Image of Iona under the missions tab in-game, even the same name. As far as I can tell, only the rewards and the timeframe were changed. Stage 1 reward is a 3-skillpoint commander Hiei, final reward for full completion of all 4 stages is cruiser Ashigara. Edit: I too already have 2 commander Hiei and one battleship Hiei. Will be interesting to see what happens when I complete Stage 2 for the ship.
  19. At least the commander-part is cleared up, thank you. Let's see if Wargaming may graciously shed some light on current events today.
  20. This update has already somewhat happened. All the standard german BBs are presentsince 0.5.9; Scharnhorst made it into the game one update before. You might be right if they want to significantly Change something on those ships before everyone can play them. But basically as things are now, all it would probably take for WG would be changing access permissions to "all" on serverside. And as for premium vessels: Krasny Krym was simply activated not long after it was patched in, without any changes for it's release.
  21. Indeed, my choice. I chose to pay for extra services, which I receive. And yes, they have no obligation - but it is widely considered as good customer service to, ya know, not leave people in the dark too much. And I have every right to demand at the very least a few answers, for not only do I play their game, but I chose to invest money into it. They piss me off, I stop paying, I stop playing. And while one individual may not seem worth anything, may I once again remind you that while I am right now one of the more vocal ones, there sure are others who think similarly. Sure, if they stop paying and playing, it might also not make a big impact. But as I said earlier: it all adds up eventually. Most of the time I really don't put too much importance in myself... but occasionally I do. And why do I do that? Because part of me cares. The day one stops caring, one simply leaves. I will not simply let this slide, not this time. And you certainly don't get to tell me what I play and don't play - so heed your own advice there and get over yourself. The likes of you sure don't get to lecture me; so just roll over like a good WG lapdog and stay quiet, will ya? Or don't. Now, as for a few observations during the day: WG's Website monkey is either out of town or not really in the mood to do his job properly. 16 hours have passed and there is no detailed info available on the new Arpeggio missions. Critical? No. Lazy? Hell yeah. Furthermore it took them half a day to make 2 new announcements: 1.) their party at Gamescon, which is currently front and center; 2.) the latest wallpaper for the month (Bismarck in action) alongside the link to the updated event calendar and a few remarks about the "soon" to be released german ships. Number 2.) has vanished by now - without any trace said announcement was ever there. This I classify as odd, even by Wargaming's standards. Why remove this after such a short time having it up? So the very least I can hold against them today is being lazy in terms of information policy. Especially regarding a 2-month mission event (Arpeggio) that sure as hell didn't activate out of nowhere - such events, even though somewhat repetitive, warrant notice AHEAD of their start, not after it already started. And I am puzzled about the removed news. I'm sure some of you saw them too. Last but not least, if this would all be a first timer I wouldn't say anything. But by now I'm beginning to see a pattern in which Wargaming tends to make Information / content available anywhere BUT their website; and if those infos do come to the website, they often do so with some delay. Delays ranging within 1 - 4 hours seem to be standard; more than half a day is rare, but by now not unexpected, at least not for me. For all the good they do with this amazing game they sure fu** up a lot in it's surrounding "environment". EDIT: Yes, actually there were 3 updates on the website today. But then again I don't count their monthly premium shop "update" (ha-ha) as news.
  22. Read the words straight in front of the text you highlighted. I indulged you with a "had heard that" on my own. But since you can produce nothing else other than a weak retort, I hereby assume that your rumour is as good as mine. Your turn. You still owe me a link or admitting that you don't have anything official to back your Claim.
  23. I do like Takao. The character even more than the ship. Would also be nice to hear if we ever get to see her in the game... I'd even pay for her, considering her sister ship is a premium. Also, what about Yamato / Musashi? Or Hyuga, if they actually would create the Ise-class?
  24. Oh, so Wargaming actually made an official announcement on their website that "at Gamescon" is set in stone? Link please. But if we dable in such "statements": last I heard, and that was months ago by now, was "BEFORE Gamescon". Gamescon starts in a Little more than 2 weeks. You'd think that they would make some sort of big official statement by now.
  25. Well, that's something to go on, thank you. Much appreciated.
