Regarding the new submarine ping display: I get that subs were hated as much as CVs, but still... When the only usable weapon for subs means instant pinpointing of the location (plus accurate plane drops, which hurt even if the sub is at max underwater speed), you're killing the subs without directly removing them. And it has no corresponding mechanic from real life; even an actively pinging sonar (from the ships that have sonar) would take a while to rotate thru circle/depth and retrieve the distance (and thus location) of a sub... What's next? Probably revealing the location of a CV when seeing the planes? I can only suppose that this idea came from a developer which strongly prefers playing big bad battleships, and couldn't conceive that the game is a more complex version of rock/paper/scissors. -
Warning, teamkiller. Probably a player testing the limits of automatic bans; multiple people reported him for firing at allies, intentionally and repeatedly, from the start of the game until getting banned.

Been there, done that. No ship, just endless boxes with a skin and a couple flags. Rarely, some coal. This game should have a warning: „contains gambling”. Although you would win more by playing roulette... Even the russian one ;) -

Sooooo... Let's say that they introduce Royal Navy, and their DDs will have 0.005mm detection range, 1000knots torp speed, and fire 100 torps at once, with a reload of 10 seconds. Surprise, people will start abusing those. What do you think the correct solution would be: 1) Hard capping them, so only 1 RN DD /team in any match. 2) Nerfing them. Sorry, but if your toy breaks the game for the others, don't expect you get to keep it.- 133 replies

1) Go into the settings menu. 2) Click on the Controls tab. 3) Look long and hard (or you can see it instantly), there´s the option to "Disable SHIFT for carriers", already checked by default. 4) Of course, uncheck that option.

You proved exactly... my point: one has to jiggle like a crazy brazilian model in PuffDiddy's videoclips, not having a break even for the duration of a single reload sometimes! Today, in my Fuso, got invisi-torpsouped by a Fubuki with a wall of about 8-10 (?) torps, spread about two ships length (Fuso). Managed to avoid 4 of them... FFS, is it really sane to face a single invisible ship that throws overboard torps as numerous as the bomblets from the hedgehog? And which never ever have a dud, and no matter how much under fire at sea, they have perfect trajectories, instantly calculated? I know, we're patching one of the oldest and worst problems in World of Tanks/Warships: the invisibility. But still, no matter what trigonometry might tell you, it's absurd to have hunderds of torpedoes launched in a game; if it's argued that it's compressing the actions, then the BBs should fire their main guns more often than a Phalanx missile defence or a Warthog plane. Also, you forgot to mention anything about the obvious rebound in popularity for IJN DDs: as I mentioned earlier, everybody was a bit scared in the beginning, but they had a laugh when they figured that the big nerf did absolutely nothing to limit the ammount of torps that can be launched. We're not having anymore the oft-quoted 20km range, but torps can still be launched under the invisibility IDDQD mode for DDs... And, as someone else said earlier, it's absurd that a destroyer can sneak up (during clear weather day, nonetheless) to a battleship, launch torps and still get away in some other form than either finely grinded or simply molten metal. Not that it would be a fun game (I have BB, I win button), but as it stands now, a BB is simply pinata for IJN DDs, a completely reversal of roles (and just as *not* fair/fun as it would be if it'd be like in reality; no thank you, I want a balanced game, not to enroll in Army or Navy).- 133 replies

So... I'm currently playing at tier 4-6, and all I see is IJN DDs everywhere. In a game with 2 DDs /side, 3 out of 4 DDs are IJN. I've been in a game with 5 (!!!) DDs per team, and 6 of those 10 were IJN. Time and time again, the battle is decided by 2 or 3 players that succeed at least 3 frags by invisitorp-souping. What is one supposed to do? 1) Abandon the game, as long as tier 5-6 are the profitable ones and you can't play a lot at T8-T10 (especially without premium). 2) Wait for (another) biiiiiig nerf hammer, to *all* IJN DDs. For the second one, maybe we need some mechanic to counter those fun destroyers (pun intended), including the KamiR which seems to have become one of the worst offenders. INBA; DD lovers would cry foul because their untouchable toys got wrecked. Sorry, but it's exactly like in WoT with arty: not the CVs are the problem, but a class that is s*cker-punching everyone while being 90% of the time without a proper counter. You can launch your torps any time, and it's simply not decent to require others to use some consumable (limited, and costly if bought for dubloons). If the IJN DDs were nerfed for real, making them not funny to play anymore (like arty in WoT), then that's exactly what another player is feeling when IJN DDs wreck him out ouf the blue. Really INBA+TLDR: if it's not fun for everybody else, then we need (another) nerf hammer to make it *not* fun for IJN DDs too. Karma is a b!tch, we know ;)- 133 replies
