    Well. When my YY couldn't even hit a broadside gearing at 7 km yesterday I gave up. No point in this game if shells refuse to go where you aim because game "ai" knows you don't actually want to hit the gearing...

    As long as you remember that dmg is the deciding factor in PR, I guess one could use PR as such an early indication.

    Jutland and Daring are DD killers. Amazing DPM with AP, hydro for self protection and heals. These are pure gunboats for me.

    If you do the math you will see just how skewed PR is towards dmg farming. But as I'm making a point, let me do it for you. Below a calculation table of PR, looking at relation between WR and DMG( and fixed kills at .5 of the actual/expected value). So if you look at the last two colums you see people dealing more damage than expected ( and keep in mind only half the expected kills ) aka damage farming. Look at the PR ratings they get, even for .7 in actual/expected WR (which is 35% WR actual if expected is 50% ) they can get to "good" rating if the damage farming is great. Or an "average" if they are meh dmg farmers. Now look at the WR: a player winning with a 1.30 ratio (65% actual WR for 50% expected) needs to deal at least the expected value of damage to get an "average" rating. All PR does is reward damage, the ratio of 700 for dmg, 300 for kills and only 150 for WR ( I thought this game was about winnning ??? ) is messed up. And talking about losing 10 games or what not: as for WR, PR is only a useful information for a large amount of battles. Maybe not the same size as WR, but 10 battles just doesn't cut it. Combining WR and PR is useful, but PR alone is just rubbish. I'm sorry.

    WR accurate?

    I consider WR more of an indicator than PR: - note: when I check WR of a player I will look for solo WR of tier VI and above and I will bar obvious OP ships ( so it does take me a min to come up with the number, rather than just reading from a website); - also note: I do look at WR and PR together, usually they are quite similar but in some case I've seen people with significantly better WR than PR fe. In general I prefer more data, so PR should be better, as 3 metrics are taken into account (damage [700], WR [150] and kills [300], check here to see how PR is calculated ). In the PR calculation however damage is about 4,5 times more important than WR, and kills are twice as important as WR. Unfortunately damage is a parameter than holds both useful damage and less useful damage. I think most people will agree that, generally speaking, doing 20k HE dmg to a DD is way more important than doing 20k HE damage to a BB. However, such a distinction cannot be made with the damage numbers available to the playerbase. So high damage numbers don't always mean useful damage, in that sense, the current PR formula rewards damage farming too much. - note: the (super) unicum players will be purple in PR and WR anyways. This damage farming is valid for the other 95% of the playerbase.

    games played - how is that an indication of skill? this is useless for balancing teams average damage - useless as well as it is class and even ship dependent. Plus 20k damage dealt to a DD =/= 20k damage dealt to a BB (and there is no way to track this atm) average experience - useless as premium time is taken into account PR - useless as it is heavily skewed towards damage (but in relation to a specific ship) but it also uncludes WR (which will flatten out over time ) Any other metric you want to include? ?

    You didn't think this through now did you. What happens if you start equalizing teams for WR ( or whatever other metric you want to sue )? Said metric becomes useless as it doesn't show the playerskill anymore, it'll get skewed by a MM intervention rendering it a useless metric. And then how do you plan to "balance" the MM when your metric is useless?

    As position on scoreboard is based on XP and XP is hardly a good measurement ofr playing well / playing to win I don't see why we should reward ppl topping the scoreboard even more. Not unless XP gets a serious overhaul.
