What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
159Hunter replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
This was more a great team effort, not only facing an enemy team, but also a rogue Hindeburg. And we still won the game: -
Read comments above, but I fear it's a useless attempt. Some people just don't want to understand.
-
That's not an answer to the question. Firstly, this is a topic based on ranked, so there is only one cv per team. So how does the other cv shoot down planes ( guess the enemy cv could strafe down his own plans... ). Secondly, it's based upon your playstyle with strike ranger, the most useless setup in ranked. Maybe the fact that you didn't get a lot of xp with the Ranger has nothing to do with the XP system, but rather with it being the wrong ship for the job, ever considered that?
-
This looks nice: To make the process of Commander retraining more comfortable, we have introduced a limit on the maximum amount of XP required to complete the retraining without using Doubloons: To retrain for free (Basic Training): 100,000 XP To retrain using credits (Naval Academy): 50,000 XP

Successfull and Failure tactics from ranked season 4
159Hunter replied to SkybuckFlying's topic in General Discussion
-
So, let's talk this through, what I absolutley miss in this list is: - Carriers should get a decent xp reward for shooting down enemy planes, - This reward should be increased if the planes are spotting friendly ships, - Spotting enemy ships should get a bigger reward than "tiny" - No extra rewards needed for killing enemy ships, the xp you get from that is sufficient, Also, "carriers exploring flanks" should get a bonus? Really, borderhugging ( aka terrible carrier positioning ) should be rewarded? Long story short, your "reward system" is tailored to the USELESS strike Ranger ( in ranked ). The fact that you still fail to see this, just shows how terrible you are...

Use it on US and IJN CV, cause tbh, in the long run I don't see anything else worth taking at that level

Carrier players - when do you prioritise cruisers?
159Hunter replied to StringWitch's topic in Aircraft Carriers
I'll prioritise cruisers if they are escorting enemy BB and have their AA on cooldown ( and if I have the correct tier vs his tier ). -
I guess if you can comfortably sit at range / or even closer + without getting primaried by all tier 8 HE spamming cruisers / all tier 8 BB then you'll do great. Otherwise your armor just isn't going to cut it.

The He shells cause fire, so the Ap shells should cause flood..
159Hunter replied to anonym_5SsDJH3ePhJT's topic in General Discussion
OP plays Warspite, Tirpitz and Yamato. OP feels this ships aren't OP enough for him to shine, so OP comes up with an idea to OP them even more. Maybe OP should learn to play some other class of ships before posting even more bright ideas? -
The only think you can't do is: - be afk the entire game, - die before pumping a few shells in an enemy. So this is near guaranteed

Whats the tactic for destroyers that just machine gune you from smoke?
159Hunter replied to _x_Acheron_x_'s topic in General Discussion
Well, if it's a fletcher then I'm less worried. A gearing / khabarovsk and udaloi are far more lethal That being said, all depends on the situation: distance to smoke, the ship in smoke, the other ships in the area and your ship. Generally speaking, in a cruiser or a gunboat dd I will rish the smoke, unless if there's a lot of opposition. In a BB, I will shout at friendlies to rush smoke :p and take a distance myself. Torping into smoke if you have them is also very very good. You could also attempt to shoot at him base on the tracers coming out of the smoke, but this is a waste for BB ( even with bigger dispersion you might get more lucky ). -
Sure, same problem with team battles But in those games, spotting is your primary task and not dealing damage. The only target you can reliably hit is the enemy cv. And you'd be dumb not to use a 15points captain in such competitive modes, every edge counts.
-
So, how many ships must he smoke up? 1, 2, 3 .... ? How long must they be in the smoke? Full smoke duration? Do these smoked up ships also get xp punishment when they leave that smoke? Can go on for hours with such questions. If you want to propose things to encourage teamplay, make sure you at least think them though and describe them in detail...
-
Hmm, must have missed that. Rushed through that one in no time. Yeah, the TB are a bit weak, but select your targets wisely and you'll do ok ish.

Why CV players should be able to do divisions together
159Hunter replied to Antique_Nova's topic in General Discussion
No, just no. That would be an OP division, an if those CV players actually know what their doing they'll roflstump on all other ships. -
Dabloons? No, Doubloons? Yes
-
TBH, killing a BB with your first 40 rounds on that paritcular BB isn't that hard. Some matches in a BB you fire maybe 100 shells and kill 2 BB and a cruiser... Do like the idea of having +1 point, but might be a bit difficult to encode? Cause that would mean only pick a 1 point perck, or also +2 - +4 percks?

Carrier Commanders and tactical advice
159Hunter replied to SkybuckFlying's topic in Aircraft Carriers
But at least he managed to get to rank 1 and he has the guts to try Essex and Midway. You for some reason fail to reach rank 1 and lack the courage to advance pastLexington.- 80 replies

Small addon to this, up to Ranger I played full strike mode in Random battles. Lexington was the cv I struggled with and ended up going for the old balanced mode. But Essex and Midway are both to be played in strike, simply cause of your huge damage potential in this setup and the fact that the other setups are kinda meh for damage. And tier VII and up an IJN cv can outplay you everytime if he wants to ( because their AS setups are just so powerfull, yes they will lose the fighter war if you go AS / balanced but they will simply outdamage you every time ).
-
I assume you want to know because you're looking for a ship tree to skill? Well, tbh I have both Des Moines and Moskva and they are amazing: Des Moines guns are a bit lazy, but by the time you finally reach it you're so used to it so it's not really an issue anyore. And it's the perfect cruiser to be agressive. Has very short reload and good armor. Only drawback is no torps, so you'll need to be careful when going up close and personnal with a torp cruiser. The Moskva is maybe less enjoyable, but the whole RU CL line is so much fun, not really a ship I disliked. The most fun I've had so far moving up to tier X.

Carrier Commanders and tactical advice
159Hunter replied to SkybuckFlying's topic in Aircraft Carriers
Look at bold part. I'm proud of you, you played the most Ranger games this season yet you are still stuck at rank 9/8 after a wooping 300+ battles in Ranger... But I guess this is due to the other players on your side and not you?- 80 replies

Carrier Commanders and tactical advice
159Hunter replied to SkybuckFlying's topic in Aircraft Carriers
LOL 1) The fact that you are in a CV thinking about farming XP just shows that you are a solo player and thus useless for your team in team battles. 2) See that? Those ships had no plane cover, planes that should be used as early torpedo warning, or better: spotting enemy destroyers ( cause that is something they do a lot better than cruisers ). Yet YOU send YOUR planes away, and because of that it's the OTHER guys fault that the BB died? 3) Seriously? He shoots down your planes = no damage for you AND no spotting for your team. Yet he can keep his empty fighters in the air the entire time cause nobody i gonna shoot them down = free spotting the entire game... All because the strike setup cannot negate enemy planes.- 80 replies

Yeah, so I want the game to move on when I'm capping and the enemy gets to 1000 points. Because you know, I can cap the other points as well, and then I can win... Seriously, there is a time / point / kill all limit. When any of these is reached the game ends, if you want to add exceptions to this it'll just be complicated...
