@El2aZeR thanks for that in depth response. So glad I didn't have to do this, must have taken you a while A few more addons to @Vaderan: - Please tell me which are the BB upgrades/skills a real BB captain should pick, if not full concealement ( genuine question, I want to know what you'd pick )? - Yes, they might be a bit more squichy than other BB ( have yet to test how well you can hit their citadel up close, my guess is not ) but they are still far more tanky thank CA and yet they get a better concealment than said CA. Does that sound okay to you? - In essence a BB that forces people to switch ammo according to the situation is a great idea. Unfortunatly a lot of people playing this game are clueless and will just happily go for the constant HE spam with it ( cause you know, it has the best BB HE ) ( how many times I've been these last weeks in my broadside DM by Bismarcks firing HE volley after HE volley is beyond my believe ... ).

Why make it so hard? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_aircraft_carriers_of_Russia_and_the_Soviet_Union Sure, they're all post-war era carriers, but hey, so are most high tier Russian ships anyways. All it takes is some balancing to remove most of the Russian bias

q&a First session is over - How did you like it?
159Hunter replied to Tuccy's question in Q&A Section
I like it, easier to find all questions. That being said, the main issue from the single topic is still there: a lot of questions get no official response. I would suggest posting a reply in all of them ( even if it says: I'm sorry, this is not the purpose of this forum ) At least we know you read all of them and people can see why they get no response. Nothing more frustrating than asking a question and getting no response. -
I didn't feel attacked m8, maybe my intro was a bit too long and the most important thing was my last line. Maybe what we need is clanwars? That's probably the only semi-reliable thing to get somewhat decent matches ?

As stated above: - CVs are only a insta death problem if you only react once the torpedoes are in the water. You should start evasive manoeuvering the moment you spot them ( and don't sail solo, unless in a cleveland for example ); - Same goes for US cruisers, the moment you see a BB shoot at you you start WASD hax; - Same goes for DDs, WASD hax every 20 sec will spare you a lot of problems; Those were the easy solutions, everyone can do those without any skill or knowledge. The harder ones are: - Don't tunnelvision, after every shot get out of binoculars and look around you ( sky and surface ); - Properly setup minimap ( make it as big as possible and select the option to show the last known position of enemy ships ); - Look at the minimap from time to time to see where your biggest threats are and try to think how you'd play if you were them. Afterwards, start doing counter movements. - Play all classes yourself and you'll learn the downsides of each class. The easiest way to learn how to counter a CV is play one and get outplayed by enemy BBs and CLs. Learn from their example and improve your own gameplay.

I don't pay for premium anymore, for two reasons: - I like the game, but atm I don't see the vision WG has to balancing the game and fixing the current problems ( notably CV, yet it doesn't stop them from bringing new premiums ). Because of that I see no reason to keep paying for the game; - Thanks to the premium ships I bought and the Des Moines camo I don't have any issues getting silver, sure it all goes a bit slower, but who cares? This has nothing to do with me having a bad PC, with me being a bad player, it's a choice I made based on the current state of the game. So honestly, if this topic was made to spark a discussion: good job, if this was a genuine proposal: hmmm...

Thank god you don't need to win the game to complete the mission. Makes it so much easier

Yamamoto Campaign Supercontainers
159Hunter replied to __Helmut_Kohl__'s topic in General Discussion
First container: Defensive AA fire modification 1 ( ok, don't need this, what ship would I fit this on anyways? Des Moines, right. Too bad mine allready has that ). So on to container number 2, can't be worse than this one can it? Second container: Defensive AA fire modification 1 .... Thanks a lot WG, really. Thanks a lot. I know it's free stuff. But seriously? @Sub_OctavianJust remove these upgrades from supercontainers and make a set of repeatable missions for people that want them or something. -
Yes, but you know the reason why the reds break through the defence? That's right, because the high alpha dealers + tanks ( aka BBs ) are sitting in the back and not strengthening the defence. As for OP's question: it all depends on a combination of factors, let's say you meet a person with 1000 games played and 56% WR yet of those 1000 games he played 250 in Nikolai. Well that makes me discard the general WR and dig deeper to a more specific class / ship. So there is no single answer to your question, it all depends the situation. ( another example, if you discuss CVs and there is a unicum player talking stuff about CVs and when you check said persons stats and they show he has 0 games in a CV, then I'll discard his opinion ).

Decided to take out the Kutuzov again after some good Des Moines games. Conclusion: Kutuzov still OP, average BB player in tier VII - IX game is equally bad to your average tier X BB player. Especially those on my team this game :(

Where's WGs' damage graph to BBs that shows how minimal the impact of fire is?

Deepwater torps, so battleships can have more fun because if you want to contest a cap, you can't hurt them
159Hunter replied to mtm78's topic in General Discussion
But keep in mind that in tier X games you'll find at least 2 tier VIII BB ( 80% chance it's a Germand one :) ). So those stats go both ways.- 330 replies

So when are you guys going to remove Tears of the Desert with Epicenter?
159Hunter replied to IsamuKondera's topic in Maps
Soon TM -
Doesn't even needs to be a sealclubber. I've seen people leveling multiple lines from the start and only progressing when they reach reached a tier on all their lines. Or you simply have people who like the mid tier meta at 6 and 7 ( which tbh, isn't sealclubbing ).
-
Casual play at tier VIII or playing all classes has nothing to do with new accounts. You have people with thousands of games who have yet to reach their first tier VIII ship. Or you just have people who dislike the high tier meta ( thus not making it fun and casual but an obligation to play ) 30 battles during a weekend? Honestly, not casual anymore for me. During university period? Sure no problem even (especially) during exam periods. But once you have a family around, I can't justify sitting behind my computer, when it's great weather outside, when Household stuff needs to get done... I'd clasify casual play as maybe 1 - 1.5 hours a day max.

Yamamoto Campaign Supercontainers
159Hunter replied to __Helmut_Kohl__'s topic in General Discussion
Keep radar upgrade for Moskva. As Flamu pointed out, a DD will mostly run away out of range / die before DM radar ends. Moska is a whole different story tho. -
And yet some people complain that they aren't easy ( aka you need minimum tier VIII, to go faster you need to play all classes of ships ). So maybe your casual isn't everyon's casual?

Deepwater torps, so battleships can have more fun because if you want to contest a cap, you can't hurt them
159Hunter replied to mtm78's topic in General Discussion
And there I thougt these torps were aimed to deal with BB overpopulation. But if only DD aren't going to get hit then it makes the game even worse for CL. Torps that are harder to spot and since CL are generally in front of BB ....- 330 replies

Then why do you insist on comparing damage output, spotting done and survivability with other classes?
-
Oh, sad to hear this. But it's understandable I guess. Who knows, maybe we'll see him again with some awesome movies in the future?

See, wasn't that bad to actually answer when somebody asks for something in a discussion. I asked for stats. You provided. That's how mature people discuss. Thank you. Now, I'm still waiting on your replies on the following questions I asked in this discussion: - name the Tier X ships a Shokaku can reliably strike; - explain me what the problem is with a high survivability rate on a CV ( as I stated, do you want them to be brawlers? ) On to the statistics: show me a post where I claimed to be a unicum player? I've always stated I'm an average players who likes to play all lines of ships. But at least my stats are visible the entire time cause I'm not ashamed of them. So people can see what I play shipwise, when discussing topics. You on the other hand hide your stats and then you're going to compare stats? You sir fail terrible at discussing like an adult. And you know what's the worst part? It only happens in CV topics, in all other topics I've seen you post you actually can manage a proper discussion with coherent arguments. But when it comes to CVs....

Best ones: DDs, make sure HE shell land near the aft of the ship ( even splash damage can do this ).

Problem with being polite is that if you ask someone nicely where he's sailing ( eg. BB sailing North behind A cap on Okinawa or BB sailing D cap on North ... ) they usualy say: "stfu noob" or something else. So yeah in the end being polite gets boring as well. Because, yes it's just a game. It's about having fun. But how can you have fun if half your team is made up of people who don't even properly know when to shoot AP or HE at a target?

Got a SC today, decend reward: 1000 doubloons Happy with it, as I'm not in the mood to spend any more money on this game :)
