So you know he's there. You bait his radar. Run away, then go back in. Was that really that hard to make up a counter tactic? Also, as @ghostbuster_ said, a ship behind a rock can't shoot, so it means less firepower. If he positions in a way that he can shoot, he can also get shot at. Lol, so what wrong evil did I claim this time? Tell me? And will you finally commento on this ( which you have failed to do so three times ): Radar is only usefull when in range, so the CA needs to position well to use it. And positioning is a skill. Low tier is sealclubbing, so if that's your reference base: GG. Mid tier, guess you mean 6 - 7? Dunno how you play your DD, but I have yet to be surprised and hunted down by a cruiser without radar. And the reason why they get hunted down easier I guess, is the shorter invisi torp gap. Their concealement is way closer to their torp range, so less margin for stearing. So it's more down to a pilot error than a CL hunting down a DD. ( Hunting down : going towards him, pretty hard if you can't spot the guy don't you think? ) Nope, you said that BBs spot CAs to easy. It's usually NOT the BBs spotting as they are way further in the back. But hey, semantics. The CA gets spotted. Yes, that's a good way to play. But does it lead to stagnation? Nope, you can still go and cap and bait the radar.

Funny and sad game situations shown with map screenshots.
159Hunter replied to albinbino's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, going A on Okinawa is bad, that cap is too isolated. You can't support B and C, so all ships in there are usless for contesting the other caps. And most of the times when ships push into A, the linger around and never make it out of there = game lost. The Colorado was bottom tier, all he needed to do was land some shells on tier IX to make decent XP. -
lol what? You don't play DDs anymore because on some rare occasions you'll end up meeting one ( keep in mind topic is about T10 carriers )? So you dislike the challenge and like the easy cruising mode more? Cruisers??? Are you only playing IJN cruisers or what? Zao has troll armor anyways, so what's the problem with getting shot at from time to time? Aim is not to be hidden the entire time... You can't show initiative when a CV is in game? Yes a CV will limit freedom of movement, however this is not a constant factor ( planes need to rearm / they get shot down ) and it's not the entire map. If you get permaspotted, yell at your own CV or sail back to friendlies for AA. ( note: if your own CV refuses to help and is a potato, well, that's another discussion alltogether ).

You claim it is ridiculously OP. Doing devasting strikes on almost every volley. The only devastating strike is a kill, anything else is a chunck of HP gone that makes AR kick in. The skill in using radar lies in the positioning of your ship. If you don't know how to position, your radar will be useless. After that it is pushing a button at the right time. Same as sending a wave of torps on a BB with an IJN DD. Get into position and push a button. So no skill required in torping BBs ? Of course you'll mostly kill DDs with radar. Which ships are most common in smoke? ...... DDs, so when you use radar on smoke most likely you'll find a DD, aint really rocket sience. Sure, we could remove radar if we have a decent CV population with CVs in 80% of all games and when firing from smoke gets serious penalty. After all, in the current low CV meta without a radar ship on the enemy team, where's the so called skill in sitting in smoke spamming a target? Explain to me how it makes the game campier. I play DDs and I don't die from radar. Even though I go for caps. Yesterday a belfast tried to radar me three times and on all occasions I casually sailed away and lived. So explain the problem. So radar lowers the skill for cruisers, a ship that already needs it the least? Really, cruiserplay requires no skill?? I don't get this.

This is going to sound ungreatful WG, but

You'd think that it's the natural way, however. So many people play a few tier X matches in a tier VIII ship. They dislike those games and just decide to stay at low tiers. -
You claim that radar is SOO OP and that you do MASSIVE damage with radar. So now tell me, do you kill a DD every time, or do they manage to evade you as well?

Economy at tier X is such, that even with average games on no (payed for) assistance you will lose credits. Making it beneficial to play it can be done by awesome games or by buying stuff. -
@avenger121 you again. Still hating CVs? Still talking about ppls' stats whilst hiding yours?

That doesn't change their business model though. You don't even have to play your TX to get the rewards, go check YouTube. -
My DM is sad when he spots no CV on the enemy teamlist. And I play lots of DM games :) Actually, any cruiser will do. Just need to fit DefAA and I don't care. And my Udaloi can be indifferent as well, cause the Def AA will save me from cross dropping IJN torps ( but NOT from the authomatic DB drops of skillless CV players :( )

@OP: Because most people will lose credits when playing TX on a standard account so to compensate they: - Buy premium time, - Buy premium camo, - Buy premium ships, - Buy flag packs. Same goes for leveling up ( add buying doubloons to that list for speeding up the grind to get more free XP ). So encouraging people to get to TX is part of the business model of WG. They need to make money after all. -

Yes right, no skill required in getting into the correct position to ever use radar right? You can just click the button whenever you want and the DD'll be death. Of wait. It isn't. Sure, in cyclone you're just unlucky, but then all you have to do is get out and run away. Wiggle your tail and you'll be fine. One CA volley won't kill you ( unless if you are down to very low health, but well, any ship at very low health can die to a single volley)( or if you get detonated, but that hardly has anything to do with radar ). The main issue here is cyclone, a mapmode that is very much in favor of ONE class: namely BB. All other classes will suffer in this mode. Note: so with your radar cruiser you kill a DD every time you pop your radar? VMF cruisers and cyclone means that only them are shooting and their ROF is a lot lower than the US CA and their duration is considerably shorter. So just keep dodging and running. Well, anyone can misidentify a target, crap happens. Has nothing to do with radar though?

That 1 kilometer isn't going to make a difference. Just wiggle and disengage. Also, as cyclones kick in after a few minutes, all ships should have been spotted by then, so you'll have a rough idea of his position ( and remember to adjust minimap settings to show last known locations of ships ). And yes, you have no option to counterattack, you run or you charge. Those are the options ( as with radar in a normal situation ). But the big difference is that in cyclone only the radar ship can shoot you.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
159Hunter replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Score is by no means impressive, but because it was such a close match, and there was great synergy with the two surviving BB ( using my smoke to heal while I spot ). It was one of the most enjoyable games I ever had in the Gearing ( even tho our DM suicided at the start ). GG @Chaka2 best Tirpitz player i've seen in a long long time. -
BB Bias, TX Powercreep and RNG Rig are ruining the game

Sorry, but this is an online gaming forum. I was always under the impression that I could leave comprehensive reading skills and commom sense behind when entering this world. -
Oh, CHM for example can do excellent in tier X battles, and I'm not calling you a potato. I will say that tier X battles feel better in a tier X ship ( just because you can play it less safe )

BB Bias, TX Powercreep and RNG Rig are ruining the game
159Hunter replied to nerderklaus's topic in General Discussion
Where did I say that moving in smoke was "skill"? Seriously, provide me a quote. Because maybe BB don't really need radar? Once again you fail to see the point: YOU HAVE EXTRA TORPEDO DETECTION COMPARED TO OTHER BB. So if YOU can't push in with your hydro. Then what on earth should the OTHER BBs do?? Congratulations, I give you the number for a secondaries specced Bismarck and you even fail to read that. But given the fact that you don't feel you can push in your Bismarck I'm not surprised you don't do damage with your secondaries. I agree on the IJN DDs, their torpedos should be buffed. -
But aren't most of the high tier ones slightly modified US DDs? Some minor tweaks ( and the Obvious elephant in the room aka DW torps )?
-
Word of advice, if you want to say something. Just say it. Don't complain about other stuff first and just say what you want. So if your message was: I like this game and what WG is doing with it: why not say it like that? You decide to complain about other stuff first, for what reason?

BB Bias, TX Powercreep and RNG Rig are ruining the game
159Hunter replied to nerderklaus's topic in General Discussion
Especially in a UK CL you cannot sit safely in your smoke. Any capable BB will shoot at you and hit you, and the smart ones with a spotter plane will have it that much easier. If you move a bit in your smoke it gets harder ( and yes, there is skill required from a BB to do this, oh the horror ) UK CL shooting a ships 13km away have a hard time hitting them due to their shell arcs ( except ofcourse if your BB is sitting still bow in or showing full broadside without evasion ). So if you're being dakka dakka'd from smoke: start evasive manoeuvres and a lot of the dakka dakka will miss. Wait what? Your trying to tell me hydro is not good at spotting torps? Like a normal KM torp has 1,3 km detection range and you get 3 times that range? That's not a significant advantage over the other BB that don't have hydro. Ofcourse 4,4 is laughable for ships. If you want to spot ships at longer range there is the tool called radar. Which, in my honest opinion, is, just like hydro, a tool from the jack of all trades class : the cruiser. Yet WG in their infinite wisdom decided to give radar to a tier IX BB. Why, beats me, but again not needed. You know what happens with those crap guns if you come closer: you have more chance of hitting. You know what happens at longe range: your aim can be off by a mile and you can still hit the target (because it's such an akward spread that it's sometimes undodgable ). Secondaries not effective. Hmmm, they are not your main armament. So they shouldn't do more damage than it. But as it stands you have 11,3 km range in which you can deal damage without any action required. The only "skill" factor we could add, and it gives more damage, is by selecting a target when having manual secondaries skilled. No aiming needed, one click and let the game do the rest. So off course they are weaker, they already set enough fires and can severly hamper DDs and some cruisers. -

At the moment he has played 25 games ( + some test games ) in the conqueror and on average 176k dmg. Most of us will never get such games, that why he is super unicum. Sure this is a unicum game even for Flamu. But his playstyle is always the same ( well not the 303k game as he intentionally only used AP ), that guy knows his ships. So what matters the most to me is his comment on the ship: " A ship that completly shi*** on any skill required and on any sort of balance. A braindead ship that messes with all tier X balance in game " I did read that comment, that's the first one I quoted. What you fail to grasp is WHY those BB push in so hard to support. Because they are OP. End of story. The reason why you don't agree lies in your playstyle. I'm sorry, but if you can't master a ship than you can't find it OP. Or just look at Flamus' latest video on the conqueror where he also comments on the general state of the BB gameplay. But I guess you won't agree with Flamu either? Very nice story you got there. That was exactly what we were talking about and you felt this was the way to make your point. As sucg, it clearly shows that you know what you are talking about and should thus be taken seriously.
