It goes up and down. Today I finally had a good day, but best of all was using my Grozovoi in a CV match and finally using the ship to kill planes. Other than that, half the losses were mostly defeats snatched from victory because of constant pushing even when in the lead ( cfr Flamu's Yamato commentary )?
-
Which setup are you using?
-
You don't want to balance ships around competitive. You really don't. Cause in that case: - CVs need a massive buff / AA needs a massive nerf ( cause CVs cannot get strikes in ), - radar is fine the way it is ( cause people actually know where the radars are positioned and how to counter them ), Oh and, I consider Udaloi a far better ship than the Grozovoi. Better range, more nimble, smaller...
-
So then what's the problem with radar? DDs get spotted anyways according to you? (really, some DDs should l2p (NB: I'm not attacking you here, but those DDs getting randomy spotted) ). Or is the problem that they get spotted whilst sitting still in a smoke trying to cap/dakka dakka? They can do this, no issues with that. Same as getting rid of hydro and proximity spotting through an Island.
-
Sure no problem, you can have this module in your smoke generator slot. Problem solved, you will no longer be radared in your smoke. For another reply, I refer to #4 in this topic. I agree 100% with that statement.

I have Grozo and I just can't make that them piece of junk work. Maybe I should just make it a full AA build and only play in division with CV? So then WG comes up with a buff and I go : yesssss, finally this'll be worth something. Nope.... radar, seriously WG? Are you that daft??? This ship does not need radar. Let me repeat: IT DOES NOT NEED RADAR. Give me the option to play it like a decent gunboat or a torpboat. The current version as a hybrid is just lackluster in both these fields. It's a jack of none trades. Let me repeat: RADAR IS NOT THE WAY TO GO.

After another round of amazing crap teams... ... you just made my day
-
Unless if you want to play torpboat khaba And yes, given the level of the playerbase I wouldn't be surprised if people use this build ...
-
So @Fonfalks have you found your answer? Or do you want this topic to derail even further?
-
And we all know you'd say this. This discussion with you is getting nowhere. As long as you want to keep playing " the high moral one" and defending a guy who will only say : radar is bad. Well, nothing more to say to you.

And you saw it first with uncle Jingles :

So there are none... Show me where I called him an idiot and where I twisted his arguments. As for stat calling: when somebody says: playing them is easy and said person doesn't play those ships (and it is proven by referring to his stats), is that called stat calling? It's not like @mariouus said that said player was bad. He called him out on a lie. Now if that's no longer allowed... Thus the fault is with the player (aka in this case with you). It's not because a ship has a certain tool that you always have to use it. Let me give another example: it's not because you can use spotting plane on yamato that you always have to sit back at max range and snipe. Sure, when there's an opportunity to punish someone you can. And sometimes you don't have to use it. Same with the radar, use with caution. As for ruining someone's game: by know everyone knows that radar is available on Missouri. Getting caught and dieing by one is simply misplaying on the part of the one getting caught. But is that ruining a game? You use a tool from the game to help kill someone. Same as someone using a DD to spot someone shooting from smoke, or by someone using hydro. The name of the game is to sink enemy ships remember (amongst other things). If people don't like getting sunk, well....
-
Show me the arguments. I've discussed with him in plenty other topics, and it's always the same thing. So I know pretty well what he says. Of course radar isn't good for everyone. Same as torps aren't fun for BB, BB aren't fun for CA and CVs tend to mess up a lot of people's games. The fact that radar isn't fun for everyone doesn't make it bad. So by going closer in the Missouri you probably overextend more. Thus why your results in Iowa are better. And if by 'screwing someone's game up' you mean: you dieing to soon because you overextended. Well, that's not radar's fault.
-
Calling out bull by showing stats is not what I'd call ad hominem. Especially if the other person has no intention to say anything other than: "radar is bad and destroys the game. Radar requires no skill. Cruisers can easily hunt down DD without radar."
-
I admire your tenacity. I've made the same arguments in the past with this guy. But he doesn't listen. All he will say is: radar = bad. He will spin fairy tales and what not just to make it sound true. So my adivce, just ignore him. He will not listen and will keep spewing out nonsense to waste your precious time. Yes, let me translate what he meant: the fleet needs to stop sitting 15 - 20 km behind the cap. Rather they should move closer so they can threaten that radar ship's position. I know that for many people moving this close to a cap is a novel idea, but it works. Push on a radar position and the CA will abandon it or die. And to answer your question, it does happen in randoms. Most of the times in my DD I ask it nicely. If they don't I just leave that flank and find another one (thus leaving that 'long range support in my back' alone for the red DDs).

The Death of the dedicated heavy cruiser
159Hunter replied to pzkpfwv1d's topic in General Discussion
Small suggestion OP: - Stop creating topics that show you have no clue how to play the game (but in which you 'claim' to show the faults of the game), - Stop thinking yourself on how to play the game (based on 'real life'), - Start reading the WIKI pages of the game (in your case, all of them), - Start looking at YouTube movies about the game (start with IChase's academy for example), - After doing all of this: return to tier I and start playing again, right now you drag your own team down. And yes, I couldn't resist: -
Place your bets, will WG provide a good answer or will they lock this topic? This is just really really sad...

Yes I am (don't want to go to Gulag)

Come on @Boris_MNE. You could have at least created some variations of yes like: Oh yeah, most certainly, duh: you even need to ask... I mean even WG developpers could have created a more balanced poll

I disagree. More trolling is needed. To many skybucks are being awarded. They should be for special occasions.

Worst reroll ever?

Actually; this is your first post ... But, do as @aboomination said. Read up on detection mechanics. That should clarify a lot. Or provide some replays, people will be willing to point out what is happening. Or just ask for some people to division up, so they can explain stuff while playing.
-
One way to learn how to deal with them: start playing radar ships as well. You'll learn the up- and downsides of radar; You'll learn the good radar spots; You'll get outplayed by enemy DDs; All this will improve your knowledge about radars and will help you improve as well.
