What ships do you not want to see in future patches?
Synth_FG replied to Killed_chicken96_the_2nd's topic in General Discussion
So long as the risk of capsize in a hard turn is built in -
Shouldn't have, but I wanted her so bad I couldn't say no
-
As a BB driver I'm more than happy for the CV to load out with no fighters, just so long as he cripples/sinks the enemy ships, without loosing his entire air wing in the first encounter
-
Warspite by a mile, but also have soft spots for Agincourt, Tiger, Iron Duke, and Billy Ruffian as BB/BC's AC's Illustrious and Ark Royal CA's Exeter, Norfolk and Agamemnon DD's Cossack
-
USN vs RN was more than an imaginary proposition in the 1920's/30's what do you think was the driver behind the battleship paper race that lead to the original Washington Treaty War Plan Red was continually updated during the 30's, with the final draft being created in 39, so USN vs RN with these ships is not an unrealistic scenario
-
Turn it round, why do CA drivers consistently bugger off towards the enemy at 35kts+ leaving we BB drives maxed out at just over 20kts a long way behind consistently moan when they get slaughtered before the BB's can get into any kind of shooting range of the enemy
-
Illustrious and Formidable had also suffered extensive damage in the med, and whilst they were 'fixed' in a US yards, the emphasis was on getting them back out into the fight as quickly as possible, rather than doing proper long term repairs, It's mostly this damage that did for them,

There's a work of fiction by a guy named John Watson, called The Iron Man which describes a made up Soviet Battleship (The Stalin) that would be a good fit for T10 if all else fails worth a look if you are stuck for a decent holiday read
-
If your going to fly Mosquito's off a Malta or Habakkuk then why not arm them with Highball That would be to see skipping over the water
-
There's plenty to do between shots, You need to be looking for DD's and Torp Bombers to run away from You need to turn your ship to take incoming fire at a suitable angle and then turn back in time to open up your rear batteries just as they complete loading you need to look what your team are doing to ensure they don't all bugger off and leave you isolated and outnumbered (CA drivers in particular seem to do this alot) You need to be thinking about your next turn, where you want to go and if your guns will still be pointing in an appropriate direction once you make it and you can also look around what your team is doing, what the opposition team is doing, and use chat to pass appropriate advice and all of this before worrying about how your target is maneuvering and where to aim the next salvo

What would have been your "Launch Day" offers?

Could also give out at random gold for ribbon events, ie each ribbon earned in a battle gives you a random chance of being gifted 1-10 gold coins -
Give me a BB with decent AA like a c hull Colorado 1v1 vs a CV at the end of a battle after I've taken some damage and repaired, and his air group has been chewed up a bit and I'll fancy my chances to at least force at least a draw I can largely ignore his fighters and dive bombers and concentrate my AA on his TBB's to chew them up and give me decent odds of avoiding the torpedo's, I can then aim to drive him into a corner where if I get him in range I can bombard him with HE to set him on fire and then tear him apart at my leasure Most likely outcome tho would be that I'd take a torpedo or 2 in return for his air group and he'd run away from me and stay hidden for the rest of the game
-
Starting to like this thing now I've had a few games in the C hull, It's still slow, still turns like a pig, is still 4 guns short, still has terrible accuracy and striking power, however the mad amounts of aa somewhat make up for it, it's alot easier avoiding two or 3 air dropped torpedo's rather than 8 and sailing through a rain of burning aircraft is somewhat satisfying,

US Battleships line gets worse around New Mexico

Yes the spotter plane increases the range of your main guns whilst it's airborne -
US Battleships line gets worse around New Mexico
Synth_FG replied to pootle42's topic in Newcomers' Section
Love the new mexico fully specced up its an agile killing machine, If in a battle against higer tier bb's that outrange you there are several things you can do to improve your chances you can use the spotter aircraft to increase your own range for those vital first few mins whilst you race in on your target you can use islands to shield yourself from the enemy whilst you close in you don't need to lead the charge towards the enemy, hang back whilst the higher tier ships on your own side engage then move in when you see an opportunity to rapidly close with an enemy / assist a team mate If you have problems with the new mex, then give up now, because you'll despair at the colorado (stock) -
Why I must pay dubloons for selling my ship?
Synth_FG replied to Sky_Bandit's topic in General Discussion
It's a hidden option because wg want to convert free into paying players, by making it difficult to find they are hoping that players will buy a dubloon pack once their slots fill up in order to be able to continue climbing the tree -
Either play the game or don't play it at all
Synth_FG replied to Humbug_1's topic in General Discussion
A huddle is also a big inviting target for DD's to spam with Torpedoes from outside of visual range Even if they miss the target there's a good chance the'll hit something else -
What changes will the official release bring?!
Synth_FG replied to 22cm's topic in General Discussion
Austrian would be fun, so long as they keep it that the ships roll over if they pitch into a hard turn -
A fully blinged up new mexico is a dream, especially compared to what comes next 4 turrets so you don't have a hideously long [edited], and the thing turns on a dime (comparatively) allowing you to dodge most torpedo attacks 3 barrels per turret giving you 12 lumps of metal flying at the enemy, so at range a greater chance of getting a hit despite the dispersion and a greater chance of cits / incaps fast enough to keep up with the rest of the fleet enough aa to make an enemy carrier think twice, especially if in close company with a CA I'm hanging onto mine as I grind Colorado to generate cash and to keep some joy in the game
-
As said, so long as torpedo daily missions exist, you'll find high level players grinding the BB lines (and to a lesser extent the CA) dropping down to the low level DD they keep around to complete these

Proposed British Aircraft Carrier Branch
Synth_FG replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
RN Carriers also have armoured decks and should be much more resilient / less fire prone than their US and IJN equivalents, at the expense of a smaller air group -
Proposed British Aircraft Carrier Branch
Synth_FG replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Argus had a proud service history and deserves to be in the game, even if as a t III then again there is an argument for starting most of the RN branches earlier than the US or IJN -

What we know about Ships: Updated 05/04/2017
Synth_FG replied to mr3awsome's topic in General Discussion
It'd be bloody impressive, especially when it launches squadrons of Lancaster's / Lincon's armed with Tallboys and Mosquito's armed with torpedo's -
