    No things are fine as are Detonation is both historically accurate and nothing terrible, you are out of the battle yes, but you now have 10 flags to ensure it won't happen again for a while

    [BUG] An invisible wall to hit - Server Trouble

    Just had the same thing happen in a different battle on 2 brothers, random battle, me in Warspite Battle start time 05.11.2015 20:36 At the bottom left of the map hit something invisible, had to reverse to get out noted that whatever it was blocked shells, almost like an invisible island Noted other players on both my and opposition team experiencing same At end of battle was closing on CV hiding behind island, and 2ndaries opened up even tho CV was completely behind island CV began to take hits even tho I was shooting through solid rock may have noticed something similar on earlier battle where I was playing NC and came to a sudden stop in the middle of a channel, again backed off and went round invisible object Something broken guys

    Citadel - How?

    If the other ship is angled it's quite possible for your shells to skip off the armoured belt without doing much damage If playing a BB watch it happen to hits on your own ship

It all depends on the target and how to best achieve a win for the team If in my Battleship I've battered a cruiser to the point where he is now running away weaving madly trying to preserve the last of his HP I am better off switching to another more dangerous target still fighting and posing a threat rather than unloading another full salvo at the now irrelevant damaged CA

    Why bring kriegmarine?

    The German navy at the start of WWI was probably the 2nd most powerful in the world, however it was also still outnumbered almost 2:1 in capital ships in the north sea by the RN, and vastly behind in numbers of CA's DD's etc. It had a good strategy of sortieing in order to attempt to trap a small portion of the RN Grand Fleet (usually the BC force) and overwhelm it, however it was hamstrung by a desire not to take significant risks with the ships French Naval Operations in WWI were mostly concentrated on the Mediterranean covering the Austrian and Turkish Fleets and keeping the sea lanes between Suez and Gibraltar open, especially once submarine warfare got going in anger , an even less glamorous role than the distant blockade of the north sea During WWII after the French surrender in 40 and the operations at Oran, the Vichy French maintained a large Fleet at Toulon, this force (a thing of nightmares for Churchill) remained in place until after The invasion of French North Africa in late 42 when the Germans occupied Vichy, The French then scuttled the Toulon Fleet The Free french maintained a small navy with the support of the RN

    Repulse and PoW were sunk a 2 days, not months after Pearl Harbour The decision to send them was taken months before PH as a deterrent to the Japanese and the original plan included an modern CV as part of the fleet, however losses in the med and damage to Formidable nixed this PoW and Repulse also came close to intercepting a Japanese troop convoy. The error was in not co-ordinating with the RAF based in Singapore and not screaming for air cover when they knew they were sighted However given at the time they were sunk no Capital Ship at sea had been sunk by enemy air power alone the decisions made were understandable

    I just moved up to one of these to night and am loving it, It's accurate, decent reload speed and with ap loaded against other cruisers is a killer

    How are you going to punish AFK players ?

    Sounds unlucky that all the AFK's were on your side, Myself I think it's broken about even and it's a relativly rare occurrence I've done it myself a couple of times where between being matched for a game and entering, there has been an issue with the kids or the wife that I had to go deal with sometimes life happens and I don't see people shpuld be punished for that

    Warspite is the worst premium I have purchased from WG

    With Warspite you need to learn to 1) Have your turrets pointed generally in the right direction from the off (which means planning) and 2) Learn to turn the ship rather than the turrets to bring the guns to bear

    RN BBs

    Lutzow was scuttled in a sinking condition after the battle of Jutland, and the rest of the German battlecruiser force was so battered that only 2 were available for the action of the 19th August At the end of the battle, the British had maintained their numerical superiority and had 23 dreadnoughts ready and four battlecruisers still able to fight, while the Germans had only 10 dreadnoughts immediately available, damaged brittish ships were mostly repaired by end of July The issues with the British Ammunition were recognised after the battle and were eventually rectified. Tests against surrendered German BB's after the war showed the new shells to be effective
  18. TBH you were lucky both the new mex and the fuso were captained by asshats the new mex should have raped your [edited]whilst you were dicking around with the dd and the Fuso should have either capped or closed much faster on you you were also lucky that neither could aim,

    Ramming is broken and this proves it...

    Victoria was built in an era where ramming was considered a probable tactic, so ships were built with massive rams and forward re-enforcement, which is why Victoria now sits nose down in the mud by the era we are playing in (drednought+) battles such as Tsushima had shown that naval battles would be fought at range, thus ramming and the design of ships to do so was abandoned If a BB T-boned another BB, the one t-boned would be doomed, but the rammer would also face buckled plates along it's length, would distort it's keel and would spring leaks all down it's length, not to mention seeing critical equipment such as pumps, engines etc thrown off their mounts, add in electrical failures, fires, and even if the ammuntion falling over in the magazines doesn't blow, given the majority of the crew would also be injured from being thrown forward from the crash, the rammer is also likely doomed

    Can't unlock Carrier becuase I suck with Battleships

    Battleships Rules 1) Make every shot count, no shooting from the hip or spamming, only shoot when you have lined up the shot and have a chance of hitting 2) Angling, never fight broadside on, point directly at your enemy and only expose your [edited]when angling out to unmask your rear turrets 3) Never go alone, it's your dd's job to scout targets for you and your ca's to poke their heads in first, your job is to smash anything the others find (and to take the bulk of the return fire), note you need to be close behind them to do this

    Rank Up / Down Broken

    At the moment you can be afk or blunder into the path of a load of torpedo's and die in the first 3 mins without scoring a hit, but if your team wins you get a star Similarly you can have a decent battle dealing good damage, but turn around and the bunch of [edited] you have been teamed with have all got themselves killed leaving you in a hopeless position So rather than the whole winning team gaining a star and the whole loosing team loosing a star, why not only the top 4 scoring players in the winning team gain a star, the bottom 4 in the loosing team loose a star, and everybody else remains where they are

    Might encourage more aggressive play, And TBH it's not really a team game, tho those that work as a team tend to do better

    There's no way of avoiding taking some pain in such a situation, nor should there be Once you hit the Later hulls of the New Mex or Colorado you'll make them pay tho Best advice is save your repair for the flooding and your recovery for the damage

    Is there any reason to slow down?

    You missed being a BB sailing around an island whilst switching your gun aim to the other side of the ship either due to a turn or engaging a new enemy, no point in sticking your nose out until your guns are pointing in the right direction
