'There seems to be something wrong with our bloody ships today'
The_Tyke replied to ajb13's topic in General Discussion
I do play quite a lot of games in a day recently, due to being off work with illness. Prior to the last big patch/update I was getting a couple of detonations a month, since its release I get three or four every day. Others have mentioned similar occurrences to me. I'd like to be able to flag up against them, but ran out of the things ages ago. Ironically the only way I get them is after a detonation, so I am safe for at least ten games -
Bots/idlers in Ranked should be banned until the season is over
The_Tyke replied to SyntheticMan's topic in General Discussion
Whilst I endorse the idea there remains one problem. How is the MM supposed to identify these people? -
500 battles is not really a huge amount, and whilst I am no expert on these things I would suggest a little too few for T7 games. Sometimes the things you describe can be really frustrating, and defy reason, but that is one of the things you have to learn to live with in an online game. The word 'team' hardly exists. What you have is a collection of strangers, who probably do not all speak the same lingo, expected to work as one for 20 minutes. It aint gonna happen, and never will.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
The_Tyke replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Perhaps the oddest achievement posted here. Started out with 8900 hitpoints. Near the start of the battle, at about the nine minute mark, and due to my own ineptitude, I was reduced to ELEVEN hitpoints. Not only did I manage to survive to the end, I also managed to get a kill. -
Just over 118,000,000 I have all the current boats I want, so there is nothing to spend it on. It just builds up now. Still, once they release the lady who is Dreadnought I will at least have the funds available.
-
Well yes, nobody would buy them if they were not
-
Speaking solely for myself, I just ask them what tier they want to play, and I grab a boat of the relevant level that I enjoy playing.

I just passed 1.000 games without getting a supercontainer
The_Tyke replied to Stugga's topic in General Discussion
I got one just now, after many hundred regulars. I never go the TYL route, always flags. And it had 1000 doubloons so no complaints here. I expected one of those upgrade things -
I have often wondered the same. Limit 'reports', sure. I can see why: so much salt about. But I run out of compliments every day. I don't just give them for helpful or outstanding play, but to everyone in the game, on both sides, who gets a Kraken.

Super containers - What to expect
The_Tyke replied to RenamedUser_92906789's topic in General Discussion
The OP asks 'what to expect' Simple answer to that really. Expect nothing, and you won't be disappointed. Get something nice/useful and it's a pleasant surprise. -

*bump* C'mon people, there must be more out there who appreciate the majesty of 'real' ships -
Ok, it's bad luck

I play pretty much RN only, since the release, and I have to say that once you get used to them they aint all that bad (with one notable exception, can you guess which?) I do prefer the low tiers, I have got up to Neptune but only play one game a day in her, same as I did the Edinburgh. My favorite boat in my port is Danae. Yea I know there is little love for the lass, but she suits me, as does Caledon. I voted yes, assuming that meant 'YES they are good'
-
None of mine has that
-
Your idea has merits, but . . . . It's a team game, and, like it or not, teams do strange things you won't always agree with. You cannot change what cannot be changed.

AFK players (result of "stuck in loading" bug)
The_Tyke replied to RenamedUser_92906789's topic in General Discussion
Whilst I gave never experienced this myself there is one guy I division with and he will not manage to get into about 30% of games. Solo, he says, he has no problems. Several times I have had to intervene when another player asks in chat for everyone to 'report the afk' Needs fixing, for sure -
There have been games where I have openly questioned the team about all piling into one cap and requested some move to the other side. And, thankfully, on many occasions I am either ignored or not understood. Why? Well, because the team then take the cap en-masse then staying together as a group they move to point B, overwhelming the opponent by sheer weight of numbers and forcing their defenders to retreat and hold the remaining cap. Now I should point out that this just seems to happen, there is no discussion at the start of the battle that this will be the tactic. When it works, as it increasingly seems to do, it works well. Naturally success is never guaranteed. In non-domination games the opposite happens. Off they all trundle, me and one or two others are left to defend the side they all leave open, and naturally fate decrees that the opponents choose my side to lemming down and have an uninterrupted and unchallenged cruise into our base. So in my experience, provided it is used well, the lemming can be a successful tactic.

Welcome to online gaming, mate There's always bad losers. We all see them. They get outplayed by an opponent and it is always the fault of the team, never them, or its some sort of hak. We just have to live with the cry babies and the salt shedders.
-
You already have it, I think. You need to tick the box on the carousel
-
The elephant in the room here is that whilst you are playing with a bunch of useless team mates . . . so must be the opposing team. MM is NOT singling you out for special attention and piling in the poor players. MM is random enough to spread the love around. So even if you have a full team of daftness to contend with, so does your opponent.

Any chance of special events with lower tier ships
The_Tyke replied to BorgCymru's topic in General Discussion
Because some people, like me, prefer to play lower tiers. I do have one T9 boat, and one T8, but I spend my time between T2 and T6. I would argue we do not need low tier events. Just 'events'. Open to all Tiers. -
The OP and one other new thread created today are the reasons I stick to the low tiers. Try it guys. The battles are no less intense but most importantly, in my opinion, you don't meet abusive salt-slingers like these. They might evolve into one, as they progress up the tiers, but who cares? They are no longer your problem. I know this advice will fall on deaf ears, because most of you are understandably proud of your high tier boats and accomplishments, but I am throwing it out there anyway. Catch you on the water, but not above T6

[DREAD] Dreadnought Era Aficionados recruiting
The_Tyke replied to G01ngToxicCommand0's topic in Clan Recruitment
This is a bit of a grey area I think. When we start to get a few more members perhaps it could be thrown open to debate. Until then I feel it is up to our illustrious founder to give his definition. Technically those monsters found at the top tiers are all 'Dreadnought' type, but my own personal feeling is that the true 'Dreadnought' gave way to the 'battleship' between the great wars. But this is solely my opinion. I play mainly low tiers, mainly cruisers too, boats built between 1903 to 1920. I am no fan of the BB. although this is the class I do best in; but if I live long enough to see HMS Dreadnought appear in game I think that will be all I will be seen in.
