I realise I am one of the very few voices from the wilderness, but I am loving the Brits. Being of that nation myself I eagerly awaited there arrival. Emerald is a bit of a louse, but all the others I have played (up to Leander so far) have been much fun. Sure, tough to begin with, a hugely steep learning curve, but I do enjoy a challenge. Only thing I would change is the dispersion and angle of firing. Those are ridiculous. I would not even say to include the HE, although that would be nice, but I can live without it.

"Well Done" to WG - The new weather effects look stunning!
The_Tyke replied to IanH755's topic in General Discussion
The weather systems do look very nice, but for me the newer ship models and the degree of detail they have takes some beating. An old thread called for a roving camera; so we can see them better and up close when they are in the port. -
Good post, nicely delivered, have a +1 I sorely miss torpedoes, it has to be said. Still find myself stabbing that '3' expecting something good to happen. Me and Belfast just do not get along together, in fact the regular ships in the line suit me far better. Especially Leander. One thing I would say needs fixing, for those of us who just cannot find our way around a keyboard, why are the consumables not uniformly placed for ALL ships? I can't be the only one who accidentally smokes up when I meant to hydro, or launch a plane instead. Or am I?

Works for me, as a cruiser player, but nobody at WG will see this, unfortunately
-
I will pass on this one, having spent a kings ransom lately on; Anshan Lo Yang Belfast Leningrad Blyskawica . . . in the space of two weeks. And most are just collecting dust in the port as I am currently captivated by the new RN line
-
Leave the RN alone. If you don't like it go back to the IJN or USN

+1 Couldn't put it better myself than the OP I am having a great time playing only RN, my WR is slowly going up. It is still bloody awful but it is going up. Seems that all these months I have been getting [edited] in DDs I should have been in cruisers, preferably British ones. Strangely, my worst performance in a RN boat is Belfast. -
I am a pretty abysmal player, by anyone's standards, but this last couple of days I have played nothing but Brits T4,5 and 6, and guess what? My WR is creeping up, not by much but it is moving. Up a full 1.2%. And my top ships? Leander 75% WR Emerald 63%WR Danae 58% WR Belfast . . . we wont mention that *coughs* . . it isn't so rosy Most folk seem to hate the British line, but it looks like I may have finally found my niche

I use Win 10 without any lag issues. But I have an exceedingly good computer and bleedingly fast interwebz, so that might help a bit. (Win 7 was the better OS though)
-
It was my intention to stop at T5, I prefer the low levels. But I kept reading that T5 was real hard work and it got easier a level higher. Well . . . I did take T6 today, and I have to say things got a LOT better.
-
The much awaited new line is almost upon us, and I suspect that a lot of you have already saved up a ton of free xp and credits. Which prompts the question "will we see any T1 to T7 Brits on the water tomorrow?" following the reviews. For myself I will be going straight to T4 (Danae) and if the lure of the smoke and plane proves too much then T5 (Emerald). I cannot play cruisers at all well, so I will be staying low tier. So, Captains, will you grind for His Majesty, or take the helm of the cream?

The dire state of CVs - will something be done?

Have a +1 for a wonderfully well presented post that must have taken a lot of work. -
Get someone to buy it for you if there's no other card available to you
-
It is only a cash-grab if people buy it, and plenty are buying it. So who is at fault? WG, or us? Everyone has the same chance to get themselves one, it is not a limited offer. If someone has not got one, then moans about those who do, tough. I have a little sympathy with those who simply do not have the coin to buy themselves premiers, but it is only a little, and quickly I forget.
-
I can keep it positive, I had a blast yesterday on my T4 and T5 Brits, and today the Belfast is my best mate. And those threads were moved, not deleted, btw
-
I think they are selling plenty, at least two, and usually four in the games I have played
-
Bought, played four, won four (although I did not survive all of them). So glad this happened on a 12 day holiday. She is every ship you need or want. I could happily delete every other ship in my port now. Soon as I delete them though, they will hit her with the nerf-stick. My luck always goes that way. In the meantime . . . ANCHOR AWEIGH. See you on the water, Captains
-
Demolition Expert would sting far more. I spent a few hundred dubloons earlier resetting my captains for that very reason
-
More should read this and take note. If you do not like the new RN line stop playing it, go back to whatever you played before. Not everyone dislikes it.
-
+1 Although to read the depressing negative views that have taken over the forum you could be mistaken for thinking so. Me? still lovin' them, played ONLY Brits the whole day. And only those 'awkward' tiers. 4 and 5. But I always have enjoyed a challenge.
-
So we're all going crazy over the RN, good or bad, the forums are alight. Anyone else noticed the new nation addition? Pan Asia. I cannot believe I am the only one to see it. I do not recall seeing any mention made of it on the patch release notes, but maybe I missed something. Ashan and Lo Yang, both of which I hear are amazing wee boats. Never tried one myself, but I am tempted.

There are other things to get excited about
The_Tyke replied to The_Tyke's topic in General Discussion
Ok, I'll get the thread deleted. -
No complaints here
-
May I be the voice in the wilderness and just mention that I am enjoying them immensely. T4 & T5. Hint: The plane is a far greater asset than the smoke (IMHO); the smoke is quite limited in area and really was of no help to me.
-
I said I would take T4 or T5. I took both, still got a sh**load of xp and credits to spend but I don't think I will go any higher. I am painfully aware of my limitations.
-
EMERALD T5 I guess if the destructive power is all you are interested in, then it is not so clever. Dispersion is quite bad. However, from the off I was quite surprised about the speed. The blurb from WG said it was moderate; the thing was off like a racing snake down a drainpipe. Quite caught me napping. Traverse speed was also surprisingly good, and the rate of fire was up there with the German T3 to T5 cruisers. Torps are a bit slow to load too. I can definitely live with this boat, although it is a steep learning curve. Worth the wait? Oh yes
