"You came to this conclusion after 145 games in DDs?" German DDs - 0 GamesJapanese DDs - 31 games none above tier 4US DDs mainline- 0 games (only experiance Sims 53 games)UK DDs - 0 games (understandable)Russian DDs - 61 games Broad spectrum? Rather limited Russian DD experience and minor experience with low tier Japanese, and the Sims.

You stats don't show high average damage, so either what you are saying is untrue or you just don't want to rack up damage. You are make rather bold claims that are not backed up by statistics.

I have seen this belief system in other BB players... and it is truly puzzling... pretty much alien to the average DD player, because for them surviving the gaming is meaningless. You survive in the game so that you can influence the outcome/deal damage... and for that to be done effectively with US and Japanese DDs it must been done danger close. A Farragut captain with his US gun arcs and -7KM torpedo could set back with the BBs that are camping, and maybe survive the game... but it has no point. You have no meaningful effect on the outcome of the game. To have meaning you must endanger your ship, and that is one of the reason DD survival is so poor.

Plea to Wargaming; high tier camping must go.

This is an area in which BBs excel at... and I believe a significant number of players choose them for just this reason. -
Looking at your DD stats... I guess you never wanted to rack up damage.

Me BB games total: 223 KongoGames played: 82Win rate: 68.29% Avg Damage: 49,462 With my experience in BBs, I might give a somewhat informed opinion of the needed skills to play the Kongo... but 82 games is still only a small amount. However, I don't see how that experience in anyway qualifies me to judge the skill it takes to play the Yamato effectively. Maybe this ships "...requires the least tactical thought..." or maybe it doesn't, but without considerable experience in that very ship my view is nothing more than an ill-informed belief.

Isn't that the case with virtually every proposal on these forums? -

When it was just DDs with smoke, there were a number of game balancing options available, but with the inclusion of cruiser having smoke, especially British cruise, option are much more limit. -

Not based on server statics.

Why do teams melt down so fast?
Culiacan_Mexico replied to Sparrow_the_bird's topic in General Discussion
I will speak only about DDs. Most new DD players don't know that the opening stages of the game is just part of the battle... they need to learn to stop dying so soon. Their ability to scout and screen for their team is important and should not be thrown away. -
It is the person, the 'meta' just gives them the tools.

Premiums: First OP Belfast and now OP Duca?

It is a rather interesting view point on the game, but some have it... and certain classes of ships support it more than others.
-
As has been stated before, not everyone plays for the same reason. Some are not that interested in win rate, damage done, or ships sunk, but in surviving. Sitting back is seen by some, rightly or wrongly, as a legitimate tactic to survive or at least survive longer.

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
Culiacan_Mexico replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
Fubuki, Akatsuki, Kagero: from 30 to 26.1 s;Yugumo, Shimakaze: from 25.7 to 22.8 seconds;Mutsuki (stock tools): from 30 to 25.7 seconds. -------------------------------------- Yes, that will do it. -
I am a DD main, and I don't find them that bad. Beside Japanese DDs are getting a major buff... the turn rates of the turrets are being buffed!!!!

Spotting mechanics by WG are interesting for all.

..but you hear them the moment you leave smoke. Just one of those things.
-
It could be or may just be laziness on WGs part.
-
You can't hear out of smoke, but Hydroacoustic Search can listen through land mass. Fun and engaging!

Consistency!!!

Personally, I can't think of why anyone in a DD would think lots of BBs are bad. If I am in a CA/CL, why would I think lots of DDs are bad (maybe Russian would be), and if I am in a BB is there ever too many CA/CL? Overall game play wise, I 'think' average cruiser play suffers more with 5 BBs in the game than BBs suffer with 5 DDs in the game.
