  1. FireRM..." a captain problem". You are taking about what an idiot did, while FireRM is talking about what knowledgeable captains should do. As you point out, "didn't realise all he had to do was to rush my smoke".... what a good BB player might do.
  2. In game... doesn't matter. Japanese Long Lance are some of the most viable.... in game.
  3. So DDs, a counter to BBs, now need to run away and hide if one shows up with radar. Can we buff cruisers so that multiple BBs must run away from a single cruiser? You can not see this as a problem with class balancing?

    AP BOMBS overpowered(and cvs generally)

WG seems to have specifically designed then to do just that to German BBs. An interesting choice.

I had a game in the Shiratsuyu on Two Brothers (two DDs each side plus CV), and the other team also had three Belfast in a division. I started south east, so I went to scout screen the eastern cap, but before I could get there the enemy CV place a fighter at the southern border to scout, their DD enter the cap, and the Belfast positioned themselves at the northern border to support. Beautiful. Ok, it sucked for me, but that is they way it should be (IMO)... air power supporting the fleet. But with the current meta, there is no rewards for CVs playing that way, nor am I sure they are well designed for it. Too often CV act and are rewarded for going it alone, just like DDs that ride the border to seek out the CVs in the rear. They never scout or screen and add little to the game play of their team. Just my opinion... doesn't mean it is correct. ;)

As a primary DD player, my opinion/experience is... CVs are poorly implemented into the small surface action meta. They rarely enhance my game play, nor are they directly rewarded if they were to do so. CVs in game can have a huge impact on the game... they are mirrored for reasons. CVs in the game = which side is now burdened by their CV player. This can be a heavy burden. Just to note: I am not saying CVs OP, I am saying CV game implementation is poor. It needs to be fixed.

I never claimed they were or weren't. I have stated previously, not this post, that I don't like them.

Not normally or quickly. I will see the planes before they see me. Three TBs inbound towards me, try to get distance or smoke. Most CV players will not blindly launch torpedoes into smoke during the opening parts of the game. That represents lost damage they can make on easier targets.

If I get sunk by a CV at the start of the game, under present conditions, that is generally a failure on my part.

DBs have some major random to them, but a DD player needs to learn how to mitigate the chance of damage. Yet major damage can still happen. TB a single drop, if I take a torpedo that is one me. Double drop, I should take only one torpedo, if i take less that is only the CV player, if take more that is on me. Triple drop (more than one CV), I should sink.

If CV are at the point that Japanese DDs can not go off alone to scout and screen, then CVs are OP and need to be nerfed. Heavily. I don't believe that that is the case, but your argument is faulty.

CVs are OP and "IF you get taget by a CV then you have done some thing WRONG....." Just pointing out these are the opposite of the same coin... absolutes. CVs and their impact on a game are more complex than that.

Plus, late game when heavy casualties occur... many ships lose their AA bubble.

DD player. You can't hide with the AA ships, because you need to scout and screen, so you have to learn to deal with CV strikes. It is a mandatory skill. Thus, "IF you get taget by a CV then you have done some thing WRONG..... " Is an incorrect statement.

What is a Supertester ? Supertesters are players who voluntarily give up their own time to help test early builds of the latest patch, new ships, new maps, new modes etc. Supertesters are expected to be fully competent at filing detailed reports of bugs and issues they find within the game as well as completing surveys on new ships and maps. They must be able to give clear evidence for the issue, and offer their best judgement towards a solution to the issue. Supertesters are not always exceptionally good players, however they are expected to be knowledgeable about game mechanics, in-game balance, and have some idea about the state and preferences of the larger game community. From this knowledge they are expected to give balanced and reasoned opinions.

    Normal penetration damage on DDs

Magic heals on BBs and CAs? The insane accuracy of BB guns?

That seems to be how WG balances now.

    Nerfs kill the fun

I did provide statistical data that show she over performs vs other DDs in her tier.
  20. I would say that is more correct than not.

    pissed off

    Bait?
  22. Why do you think DDs take it?
