If you went to a doctor and asked him where he graduated from medical school , but they refused to tell you...what does that mean? He/she still might be a great doctor, but doesn't that raise a flag?

I have yet to see anyone with horrible stats being told they have no right to speak.... ....when the post that they are having difficulties with the game and need help. Context is the defining issue, as no stat in isolation has meaning.

Deepwater torps, so battleships can have more fun because if you want to contest a cap, you can't hurt them
Culiacan_Mexico replied to mtm78's topic in General Discussion
On cruisers? Based on current specs.... I believe you have played the Fletcher, so imagine that ship with torps that give cruisers only 4.5 seconds to react. It is hard to know for sure, but it doesn't sound good for them.- 330 replies

I believe I have stated in this very thread that I am interested in the results of WGs tests. It may improve the game, and it may not. I personally believe they will find this change is a significant cruiser nerf... something unintented. It will not go through as is. Time will tell.- 330 replies

There is a difference between wanting change for change sake... and wanted good changes. It isn't a question of breaking the game... that is a strawman. The question is will it make it better? How can you promise that before it is tested?- 330 replies

The right right to speak does not include the right to be taken seriously. Derision or criticism of others opinions/therories is fairly common. "God does not play dice with the universe."

My vehicles are DDs. My experience (DDs)... relying on HE or fires to influence the outcome of a game are a waste of time. Yes, the inexperienced or stupid BB players will fail to manage their fires well, but their deaths have little effect on the outcome of the game. It is the average to above average BB player who I want to remove from the opposing side lineup... and DD HE and fires isn't going to do it. Now that doesn't mean I don't harass them, but that is all I am doing. Take their attention away from the ships that will actually put them down (generally BBs) or position myself for a torp run.
-
If a BB captain is regularly suffering this fate, the problem is not that fires are OP... just that they are an under performing player. Managing fires is a learned ability.

Really? How did you come to that conclusion?

What are their intentions for introducing DW torps as S_O makes no mention of cruisers overpopulation. Are they looking at an adjustment to cruisers or are they uncertain how much this change will have on them? S_O - "So yes, BB population is between 30 and 40%, depending on server, tier and month, as I said. EU sever, as you can see, has the most clear BB overpopulation, and yes, from my personal observations, here are the most complaints about it. The problem WAS recongnized as important, hence many changes that were and will be done here and there. Counter-buffs, AP bombs, ballistics tweak we're working on - all that is targeted to either reduce BB efficiency or to improve other classes. As I said before we would like to see 30-35%, not 30-40% range on all servers."- 330 replies

DDs and CVs combine add up to about 25% of all ships played. 3 out of 12 on average. S_O All battle tiers, Random battle EU: 34,5% BBs, 39% cruisers Battle tier X, Random battle EU: 40% BBs, 32,1% cruisers Battle tier VIII, Random battle EU: 39,8% BBs, 35,7% cruisers- 330 replies

S_O - "In more detail, Shimakaze deals 41% of damage by torpedoes in DD vs DD combat, and that's the highest result: Z-52 (36%), Khaba (5%), Gearing (27%), Grozovoi (14,5%)." Most Japanese DDs rely on torpedoes as part of their defensive package in DD vs DD combat; as their guns just are not good enough. A Japanese player with only DW Torps will be severely handicapped in their combat abilities. Overall a nerf.- 330 replies

You could be right, but... WG has nerfed CV, DD and Cruisers without to much concern if they will leave the game. Perhaps many of them did, or perhaps the moved to BBs.- 330 replies

I don't believe the majority of BB players are incapable of improving their game... just that at present they can get by with what they are doing. I could be wrong.- 330 replies

My opinion, if they want to address BB population, then they should go after the campers. Nerf that play style... not BB players that support the team.- 330 replies

Agreed. I am interested in seeing what testing finds with DW torps, as I suspect they will punish cruiser far more than BBs.- 330 replies

I am not so sure. Certain DDs can take the DW torps and still maintain a fairly strong anti-DD capability through guns, but now they will also carry a strong anti-cruiser armament. It will be interesting to see what testing shows. I did well enough in the Japanese DDs that gave the opposing ships +9.5 second reaction time. Pan Asian DDs will give the opposing ships 4.5 seconds reaction time, plus I will have decent guns. I think this could be a significant nerf to cruiser play.- 330 replies
