The reason why BBs hug the map border

While for many this is the primary goal, I don't believe that to be the case for all.

The reason why BBs hug the map border

While it is true that some DD players would be wise to play a bit more cautiously, historically, DD survival rates are a fair amount lower than other ships types. It is part of being a DD player, but supported DD players contesting caps are more likely to survive than those that are not supported.

The reason why BBs hug the map border

Many BB players don't even know this exists.

WG Listened to us and did the right thing

"You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig." Did WG actually address internally why such a known inferior/unacceptable product was pushed out and sold? Perhaps they did, we won't know... unless something like this happens again. We shall see.
  6. I am hoping for French BBs before the end of the year... as that will allow room for Russian BBs in 2018!

    Radar spoting

Leads to passive DD play. You need to find the radar ships on the opposing team before you commit. If there are islands, which radar can see through, you need to play passive. You have to adapt.
  8. My opinion, this was a case in which upper management set a time table to get GZ out. Period. Testers as a group are not stupid, they saw issues with it in this configuration, internal dissent was suppressed, just get it out was the order. Then along come CCs who trash GZ in reviews and the same 'suppress dissent' attitude lands right on iChase. This is an upper management issue about getting products out regardless of quality. No way any of them take responsibility.
  9. Just to note: for me personally, a BB heavy meta is great, while a DD heavy one is something I would not prefer.
  10. "...then should WG..." For what you say to be true, then should WG nerf BB into the ground most BB players would be too stupid to move to ships that are now effective. That is not what the majority of gamers do. Please quote my full post to get context.
  11. I made no suggestion. I simply pointed out the logical fallacy of claiming BB players have no interest in how their ships perform. That should WG nerf them into the ground, BB players will blindly keep playing them. BB players are not that stupid.
  12. What is my agenda? Your claim is that regardless of what WG does to BBs... nerf them into the ground... BB players will continue to play them. Is this logical?
  13. Skilled players see RL as required because of its strength. What a surprise.
  14. I want to be polite, but that is nonsense. For what you say to be true, then should WG nerf BB into the ground most BB players would be too stupid to move to ships that are now effective. That is not what the majority of gamers do.

    Destroyers matchmaking

WG has stated their data shows, a single DD difference has no significant impact.

We Want (Ise 1943 IJN) Battleship Aircraft Carrier

If they went historically, these would be a one shot throw away squadron... no ability to land and rearm/launch. Seaplanes are presently modeled, I believe, as throwaways. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Ise was long enough to permit the launch of aircraft, but not their recovery. The operational concept envisioned Ise launching its 11 Yokosuka D4Y2 Suisei ("Judy") dive bombers and 11 Aichi E16A Zuiun ("Paul") seaplanes. The Suisei had to land either on a conventional carrier or on land bases, whereas the E16A could be hoisted back aboard after landing near the ship by using a crane. Ise's final aircraft allowance called for eight D4Y2s and 14 E16As. Yokosuka D4Y Maximum speed: 550 km/h 500 kg of bombs Aichi E16A Maximum speed: 439 km/h 250 kg of bombs

We Want (Ise 1943 IJN) Battleship Aircraft Carrier

You lose 2 of you 6 turrets for one throw away squadron on dive bombers. (11 planes). Seems like a poor trade off.

    Normal penetration damage on DDs

    KGV: Primary targets: Cruisers Destroyers
  19. Yes they do, just less frequently. I detonated two BBs in one game with torpedoes.
  20. Hi all, Nice find on Reddit: "[EU] Gamescom Code for 5 Dragon signals" WGGCWOWS17 Leo "Apollo11" ---------------------------------------- Worked for me.

    Remove Radar, Keep Sonar

First, of course radar is not going away. Second the addition of radar was a poor choice: if smoke is an issue... you simply adjust/nerf smoke.
  22. Culiacan_Mexico

    From the Dev Blog... Smoke!

Would it be bad? I have no idea nor am I sure that is how smoke would work. However, it sure looks like this change might be more complex than WG has lead players to believe. We will see. Just to note: if it does work in this complex fashion, then the importance of good DD play will grow.
