This new variant has fixed detection range at 7.5 km, and last 10 seconds, 12 seconds, and 15 seconds for Tier 8, Tier 9, and Tier 10, respectively. Is Radar Seriously this powerful?

Normally not when I am conducting those tasks, as I believe I achieve more for the team by staying stealthy. I have seen radar cruisers take the same attitude and park behind rocks and support the team. There is nothing wrong with either action. My experience, long term smoke leads to 'campiness', as most ships can not effectively counter this so they simply avoid it, as can be seen in rank. The ability of radar to see through land mass has a similar if perhaps not as strong effect 'campiness'... a lack of counter, so DD and Cruisers generally avoid it. I belief the 'fix' to radar is simply not to let in see through land mass... line of sight only. I could be wrong.

    Is Radar Seriously this powerful?

One of the first things a DD players should do is check the opposing team for radar capable ships; and should they have one or four alter your tactics. Which mean play more cautiously, wait until you can identify the location of said ships; and if there are a couple of these ships hiding behind islands guarding a cap, then look somewhere else. Stagnation. Why must they shoot? I scout, spot and screen in a DD but don't have to shoot. I have played games in which radar cruisers stay behind the same island virtually the entire game. Very well played. Why is smoke considered campy?

    Is Radar Seriously this powerful?

Radar cruiser gets behind island, blocking line of sight to enemy, then uses radar. Yes, it is campier.

This is going to sound ungreatful WG, but

I got my first T10 this week. I have been taking my time, because what does T10 offer?
  6. Culiacan_Mexico

This is going to sound ungreatful WG, but

WG is giving presents to those that have played the game. If you haven't played the game much, why is that a problem?

German Carrier Line & Suggested planes (WIP)

I respect the effort you have put into this.
  8. Which would mean as a DD main, there would be one more advantage to screening for my team, thus increase my chances for winning? I like it.

    T10 CVs, for or against?

No. CV players are like surprise packages... did I get the good one or did the opposing team get them? On the bright side, 2016 is the year of the CV... there is still hope.

    Watch your friends!

I can't speak for your situation, but as a DD main this is why I scout; to get out in front and spot what the opposing team is committing to that point of attack. If I am being supported by a couple of cruisers and a battleships and I spot four enemy BBs heading our way... I want them not to commit, to run away. That is ships saved for our team.

Is it time for DD to receive some love?

I have played many a game where players, BB players, have called out objectives, A + B or B + C; and this is fine and can give the team general goals... as long as it makes sense. Where most 'commanders' get in trouble is trying to give direct instructions: DD cap B, DD move here, etc. BB mains have little understanding of how DDs work and call for some of the stupidest things.

Is it time for DD to receive some love?

    Why would they?

    Incomming smoke nerf?

I believe that is exactly why they are making these changes.

    Is Radar Seriously this powerful?

Smoke needs to be reworked by WG, but radar isn't the answer. Radar is in the game and the smoke issue still exists; and radar leads to passive play.

    True story...

I thought it was funny, but I guess I misunderstood. WG has stated that if too many players take RL they will have to remove it from the game, so I though they were pointing out how the player base easily spotted the problem.... that they could not. I thought they were laughing at their own failure.

Without IFHE , then you really need to rely on AP.

    Akizuki broken or what ?

LittleWhiteMouse "...Well, there's the high explosive penetration mechanics for one. For those unaware, it's quite possible (and even commonplace) for high explosive hits to inflict no damage. Setting damage saturation aside for a moment, these hits are caused by the high explosive shell striking armour that's too thick for its charge to damage. This is calculated by a rather simple formula. If an HE shell strikes armour roughly 1/6th its diameter (1/4th for German HE shells) or greater, it does no damage. For the Akizuki's 100mm shells, this means the maximum armour thickness her HE shells can inflict damage upon is 16mm or less. As such, there's a long list of ships within her matchmaking spread she simply cannot damage with her HE shells at all. You can rain hundreds of shots for days and short of starting fires, they will take zero damage. This precludes you from being able to do any damage against any tier 8+ Battleship currently in the game. Against most cruisers you'll face, only their superstructure is a viable target. But where this gets most concerning is against high tier destroyers. Shots directly into the hull of the tier 8+ Destroyers will also register zero damage hits. Your shots must strike the tiny superstructure of these destroyers to do damage -- good luck with that. This makes this armament absolutely phenomenal against tier 7 ships but lackluster against tier 8+..." https://forum.worldofwarships.com/topic/104940-ship-preview-mouse-in-the-akizuki/

    Akizuki broken or what ?

My opinion IFHE is a must.

SPOTTING! Why it's too important to ingore!

I don't believe the general players base agrees, because if they did... they would support their DDs.
  23. This is the torpedo that is needed, but it must also be able to be selected in battle with a reasonable delay in swapping torpedo types. For balancing, this would allow WG to adjust damage, reaction time, range, etc with its effect against a single type of ship... BBs.
