the higher the tier the less I enjoy it.
Culiacan_Mexico replied to Boevebeest's topic in General Discussion
First, I would say the ability to play well in divisions can calls for skills that are not needed solo. Second, sometime ago there was a player who posted on this forum (who was very proud of his purple stats) and at virtually every opportunity would call out other posters for their lack of skill/ ability. As a number of individuals pointed out, that yes he had a nice purple rating, but it mostly came from division play. Solo he was a mid-range 50% win rate player. Divisions increased his win rate 15 percentage points. A mid-range 50% win rate, while good, doesn't really put you in that place to belittle others. 15% difference between your solo rate and your division rate is very significant; and while i think each member of a three division team needs to be good, I don't think they have to be great players to have a noticeable difference in their solo to division win rates. Team work is a powerful tool in this game. -

-Harekaze reduced from 121 seconds to 101 seconds. I am not complaining. but isn't the torpedo reload speed already 112 seconds? -

Players who work in divisions throw off your premise. Going from playing solo to playing in divisions can have a more significant effect on overall winrate than and actual ability gain. Overall winrate isn't a good measure of overall ability, as it needs context. A player with an overall winrate of 70%, may have achieved most of this via divisions or playing certain types of ships. 70% winrate in BBs does not equal 70% in CVs. -

I got a questioner from WG regarding my experience on Public Test 0.6.14 in which they specifically asked me did I play Chung Mu and what I thought of it. It would seem the Chain of Missions on the Public Test has some issues.

cvs, quite frustrating little things
Culiacan_Mexico replied to Butterdoll's topic in General Discussion
Of course, and since i lack CV knowledge, I don't know what these priorities are or could be. That is for that player to decide. I have never called for CV support in game and fully expect my DDs to 'deal' with the enemy CV planes. Sometimes my team CVs scout caps, but sometimes they don't... their choice based on their ship, load out, chosen tactics, whatever. -

Culiacan_Mexico replied to Butterdoll's topic in General Discussion
Isn't that what i said? I can play the game and know that AA isn't 'good' in game and needs a rework without having played CVs. I can't in general tell a experienced CV player where, when or how he should commit his planes. People say a lot of stuff in game and it is usually from ignorance/frustration. Japanese DDs should contest caps (common knowledge), but only when appropriate. Understanding the last part requires experience. -
Single fire torpedoes will have a major effect on Japanese DD tactics. A near constant stream of 12K Shima torpedoes would alter game play drastically.

Some Japanese DDs are ok, while other are not. The old tier 6 Mutsuki was not held in high regards, the new Fubuki doesn't even meet those standards. Tier WR Dmg ▼ XP Sh☠ Srv MBH TH Mutsuki 6 48.84% 20,869 916 29% 42% 8% Fubuki 6 48.29% 20,820 823 24% 42% 6%

Japanese DD torpedoes are very powerful, but are handicapped by two things: high detection and dispersion. Harekaze has 2x4 launchers that pretty much insure you will not land all your torpedoes on a single target at longer ranges; and even narrow spread has your torpedoes with gaps wide enough for BBs to maneuver through. Due to its single launch ability, the British DD Galant does not have this issue and can land every torpedo on target. This is a powerful ability. I am not sure your proposal would be balanced.

I don't believe quicker loading torpedoes is the right direct to go.

Can you really expect CV players, even good one, to support both flanks? They do seem to have limited assets. -

Culiacan_Mexico replied to Butterdoll's topic in General Discussion
I agree that is it is very easy to expect 'stuff' out of other types of ships that you have limit to no knowledge of, especial in the heat of battle, I 'believe' that especially applies to CV who have lots to manage. I do expect somethings out of CV, I have given some example, but they fall into the same group as expect DDs to scout and screen, and German BBs not to snip at max range. To be honest, I would have to reserve judgement on the CV player in question even with a replay, as I probably would be unqualified to judge unless it was complete obvious. -

With all of my experience in DDs and in game, I could not possibly answer this, because it requires an answer from someone with CV tactical experience. On the other hand, when my teams CV immediately heads to one of the corners of the map and stays there the whole game, regards of the tactical situation (flight time is huge), if the asked I would tell them they are underplaying their ship. -

I wasn't commenting on whether his self described rant was valid... rants rarely are, but on the statement that "...Player with 0 CV games wants to complain...". With my extremely limited number of CV games, played poorly, I can still legitimacy complain about any CV player that attacks a full health AA spec Cleveland and get slaughtered. You don't have to be an electrical engineer to know that touch a live high voltage power line probably isn't the best choice. -

Culiacan_Mexico replied to Butterdoll's topic in General Discussion
Spotting, unfortunately with CV and DDs, is not a skill beginners learn or use. New players seldom recognize its power to alter the game in a way that enhances their chance for victory. But... I have had lots of game in which CVs on both my team and the opposing one who have done an excellent job at this. I have watched some videos on this by... I believe...farazelleth. So while your rant might be justified towards that single CV player, it definitely is wrong with rearguards to CV players as a group. -

Culiacan_Mexico replied to Butterdoll's topic in General Discussion
Why is that relevant? While a player with limited to no experience in DDs is probably unqualified to instruct me where to position my ship or how to set up my avenues of attack, they can understand the primary roles of a DD, and expect them to perform that action in game without ever having played one. You don't have to have played a ships to understand is part in the group dynamic. So, my CV complaint. Any CV that hold all is squads together, then moves them along the rear border, down the side to try and take out the out CV... is under utilizing their potential. DDs that try the same maneuver are just as bad. I have never played the Bismarck, but I will say that if it sits at max range behind an Island the whole game... sniping... they are under utilizing their ship. That never bothers me, because they need to make tactic decisions that in the heat of combat are outside my knowledge. On the other hand, if I am attacked multiple time by the enemy CV... multiple strikes over +5 minutes... and our team CVs keeps his fighter circling their carrier the entire game... now I might have an issue.
