And...there is nothing to back up the theory it hurts the players. From the game design PoV, they are also needed. Plus, we added more visual candy for this epic win (or fail) event.     I think that would be great if they could balance the game that well, but I can not see that as being likely.

  4. A decent DD player should never take a torpedo hit from a single drop; and while it does happen, it is almost always from a DD player misplay. Besides, this game was decide long before this engagement: score/caps.

    You seem to have played a number of games in tier 10 DDs.
  8. IMO DDs should not be sitting in the 3rd line launching torpedoes. Not a lot of scouting and screening from that position.

    My opinion. I hate it. Your ability to contest caps early is severely limited... no DD or Cruiser is going to respect you. I was around during the old Shima days where lot of players believe 20Km torpedoes launch from max range was a good idea; while their ability to hit any target they might have been aiming at was minimal; but the ability to be 'safe' drew the wrong types of players to DDs.
  10. Japanese destroyer Asashio, tier VIII Deep water modification of Type 93 torpedoes is equipped. Can only hit battleships and carriers. Rate of fire - 0.5 launches per minute. Reload - 112 seconds. 180 degree turn - 7.2 seconds. Maximum damage - 20966. Speed - 67 knots. Range - 20 km (instead of 10). These changes are designed to make the ship's gameplay more unique in relation to the Kagero destroyer.
  11. Often you will hear BB players say, "I always try to stay 12-15 Km from my target." Fair enough, but what the really means is they will try to stay that far from their target if they feel relatively secure that the don't a torpedo boat hangout 6 Km of the port or starboard beam... and with cause. My belief: supply your team mates with what they need and they will play better. You will win more games. The Yueyang doesn't seem to have done that.
  12. Yueyang is out of position, especially since it looks like the enemy team has both a Yueyang and a Harekaze on the South and East flanks. The average battleships and usually cruiser player with drift away without a DD providing scouting/screening. Not the DD players fault, but he didn't help the situation... and he should have.

    I watch the wows videos by Flamu. They have gotten better over time in giving me what I need... tactical insight. I have little interest in the video that shows a player score 1,000,000 damage in their Albany (etc), but if said video include interesting new tactics... then I am in. Now to be clear, Flamu is not the only player that make insightful video, so I watch other also and try to learn. PS. I am like 10 years old. Thank you! It has been awhile.

    I don't mind these threads if they are just rants, someone who had some bad games blowing off steam, but when it is considered a serious proposal... it leaves me wondering if they have thought it through. One caveat: if the player is sitting at a low 40% win rate... I can understand them wanting such a MM change.

    How would WG even initiate such a thing? Use overall win rate as a determinate would lead to massive complaining from division players because the vast majority would find their win rates collapse.

    Standard Scenario Achievements Sea Star Complete the operation and all secondary tasks, survive till the end of the battle and cause damage exceeding 100% of your ship's HP. Can be obtained once per battle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I wouldn't think the amount of Sea Stars one is awarded in scenarios directly relates to anything in Random Battles.

  22. I have seven whole games in CV (I wanted those pearls). My view, AA mechanics need a complete overhaul from the ground up. 2016 year of the CV! As for WG decision to put Defensive AA on DD.
